Great Spot

Nice little cabin, comfortably away from the road. Large clearing and fire pit is great for star gazing. Beds were good. Main downsize was dry creek you need to cross to get to the cabin. Hard getting over that in regular cars. And if it rains, that creek could flood, making it difficult even for trucks. Really needs a culvert. Water is also very high in sulfur, since it's from a well, which I understand is common in those areas. Tolerable enough for showering, but bring plenty of bottled water.

Fantastic cabin in the woods!!

The cabin was clean and very well equipped. There is no TV on the property, but the wifi is excellent if you would like to bring a laptop or tablet to stream movies. But you won't miss it with all the board games, hiking and outdoor activities! The kitchen is exceptionally stocked for you to prepare any meal desired. It was exactly what we were looking for!

Millboro springs getaway and float

We had a wonderful get together with our son and family….loved this cozy, quiet home.. very pet and child friendly with lots of room to run and play, very entertaining with shallow creek along the property. Love all the wood and craftsmanship in the home … beautiful fireplace inside and great fire pit outside.. enjoyed outdoor fire both nights .. s’mores with grand babies !! Upon arrival the house was extremely clean, organized and welcoming…. Kitchen wall equipped, linens all organized in containers for each room. Washer and dryer available as well as a land line and Wi-Fi . What a beautiful setting .. pit birdseed in feeder off front porch and saw an amazing array of birds! Access over the creek to home was easy and it appears that work has been done on ford. Located close to Jackson River and we enjoy an awesome canoe/kayak float with our family….town @ Homestead has unique shops and restaurants. What a great place to relax…. We loved it!

Wonderful Property - the perfect get away

Beautiful secluded property with a cozy house. We loved to make a fire each night and to sit by the creek and see the countless stars that are so hard to see in the city. We will definitely be coming back.

Great cabin in beautiful location

We loved the cabin and it was perfect for our needs. The location was fantastic and there was plenty of room for a family of four. Unfortunately it had not been cleaned prior to our arrival but we were able to get our cleaning fee partially refunded. We had a few questions and the owner was readily available via phone. The surrounding area is beautiful and we were able to do lots of hiking and fishing. The sound of the nearby creek was very soothing when trying to sleep. I would highly recommend this location but just know that there is no TV, you have to cross a good-sized creek with your car to get to the cabin, there is very limited cell phone reception, the nearest “store” is 15 minutes away, and there are no restaurants within 15 miles. All of those factors made it very appealing for us, but that may not be the case with everyone. But if you are looking for an off-the-grid, beautiful location to escape to for a few days, this is definitely the spot!

A Lovely Getaway

This is a fantastic property for a week away in the woods. The cabin is spacious and cozy at the same time. The decor is charming and the amenities all worked without any problems. The one hiccup was the creek, which was tougher to get over in our car than expected (there isn’t a bridge or a paved driveway), so we will make sure to have four-wheel drive next time. But we all thoroughly enjoyed our week of board games and hiking at the cabin.

Thanksgiving COVID-pod getaway

We loved our stay. The house was full of special custom made cabin amenities. Lots of wood, a huge stone fireplace, fire pit in the rear of the giant yard, plus a creek! Very peaceful setting. The porch with table and swinging chair was a wonderful way to spend time together and enjoy our thanksgiving dinner! Plenty of room for us and a few friends and family. We read about having to cross a creek to get to the property, but we had 3 Prius that made it over no problem. Than you Benny for being a great host. The house and property are beautiful and made for a great getaway.

Good, but not quite meeting its potential

My wife and I stayed here with our two dogs. The property is beautiful and secluded. Unfortunately, there were several minor issues that could have made this three-star stay into a five-star stay. Pluses: -Beautiful and spacious house. (Though just 1 bath) -Gorgeous location. -Very pet-friendly. -Good wi-fi (no TV or satellite) Not-quite-right: -More expensive than advertised. By the time required cleaning fees, pet fees, owner fees, and insurance were included, the actual nightly rate was almost 40% more than what was advertised (5 night stay). There was also a refundable damage fee. The owner refunded that as soon as I contacted him about it two weeks after our stay, but not until then. -The two downstairs bedrooms with double beds were made up when we arrived, but the upstairs bedroom with the king bed was not. The linen closet was in disarray so we had to forage to find sheets that fit, as well as to find towels for the bathroom, which had not been laid out. -The selection of dishes was odd--although there were many plates, pots, and pans, there were no bowls for soup or cereal, nor was there a baking sheet/cookie sheet. -The silverware drawer broke during our stay, but I was able to do a temporary fix. -The wi-fi password was on a slip of paper buried in a pile of other papers, not easy to find. -There was no working stopper for the bathtub. -The toilet was heavily stained. None of these things are show-stoppers, but they weren't what I expect for a stay at that price. Unfortunately, the owner was away at a wedding, so my e-mails to him went unanswered until our last day. That may not be typical--he was very responsive throughout the booking process and afterward. A couple of other things worth noting: -When the description says you must ford a creek, it's not kidding. If flash floods or heavy rain are expected, factor this into your planning. Our Subaru Forester handled it with no problem. I would have been less confident in a lower-clearance vehicle. -The water has a strong mineral content and smells of sulfur. If this is likely to bother you, it's a good idea to bring bottled water for coffee/cooking/brushing teeth. We wound up departing a day early by our own choice. The owner offered to refund us the final night, which demonstrates a desire to do things right. Overall, there is good potential, but it didn't quite meet it during our stay. Your mileage may vary.

A nice and isolated-but central for our day trips-cabin

Property did not have a TV or satellite dish-although in truth, a TV was not listed on the site amenities. The tub drain was backed up. Fording the creek to enter the driveway was semi difficult for us in a truck. There were no chairs [has a picnic table and a swing] to sit on the porch-deck-we used our camper chairs. The kitchen was very well stocked. The owner was kind and communicative. The cabin is nice. It's a nice setting, perfectly isolated but central to our area touring needs.

Nice remote cabin

On short notice we decided to rent this nice cabin in the woods for a family getaway. Overall it was a great experience. I would give it 5 stars, even though the cabin could have been cleaned better. There were plenty of dead bugs and dust... but, no problem with us as it is a cabin. However my teenage children considered it 3 stars, because it is very remote and there is not a ton to do. We kayaked though, found a place to swim, had plenty of campfires and just spent time together. The cabin has all of the comforts of home including air conditioning and wifi. As stated earlier, overall it was a very good experience and our family had a good time getting away from everything.

Off The Grid R&R!

Our host was great at working with us. We had a problem with the sit but he went above and beyond to help us. The cabin was cozy, homie, the area was so serene, and peaceful. Perfect for an off the grid gettaway. We plan to go back soon!

Adorable Trip

I loved the location, very easy to find and get to. The house was stunning and welcoming. The process of getting the rental was simple. Im glad they were able to accept a 22 year old rental application considering most cabin rentals dont allow under the age of 25. All and all i would do this over again.
