The straw cottage, between comfort and authenticity: ... An ecological house which shows its advantages: a wooden frame sized to support a green roof, earth plaster inside, lime outside, solid pine floors, a well protected southern wooden terrace. Heating is provided by a wood pellet stove (provided free of charge). Rainwater is collected for the toilets and the washing machine. The mains water is filtered for consumption and cooking. The cottage is oriented to the South West. To the east is a small garden with aromatic plants.
The gîte benefits from the 'Tourism and Handicap' label for motor, hearing and visual disabilities.

The price is decreasing from the 3rd night: take advantage for long weekends in April May and June and September!

Prima als je rust, privacy en eenvoud zoekt

Een eenvoudig uitgevoerd huisje met een kamer/keuken, slaapkamer en badkamer en een heerlijk prive-terras. De ligging is beschut nabij het centrum van een klein dorp. Op fietsafstand ligt het grotere Agon-Coutainville met een goed strand. Een aanrader voor rustzoekers. De eigenaar Denis is bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam

Superbe maison de vacances !

Nous avons passé des vacances très reposantes dans cette maison de vacances. La maison écologique est magnifique. Il y a un petit jardin et une belle terrasse devant la maison. Le propriétaire Denis est très serviable et aimable. Il nous a donné des conseils d'excursions et nous a apporté des spécialités régionales. Des vélos sont à disposition. La maison est située à proximité de plusieurs plages. Dans le village, il y a une crêperie à recommander (il faut réserver à l'avance !) et une bonne boulangerie/pâtisserie (près du Carrefour). Une maison exceptionnelle pour les amoureux de la nature

Nous avons été emballés par la maison en paille. Nous n'avons pas tous le même degré de prise de conscience du réchauffement climatique et de ses conséquences. Alors un grand merci à Celine et Denis pour cette maison où il fait bon vivre. Nous devrions tous avoir la chance de vivre dans une maison écologique. Séjour dans une maison de contes ;)

La maison écologique et sans wifi a été l'endroit parfait pour des vacances avec des enfants trop connectés ;) La maison est adaptée aux familles avec des enfants en basse âge, très bien située au calme mais pas isolée ( plages, marché, magasins, etc à moins de 10 min), très belle expérience!

Bonne situation pour découvrir la région du Coutançais . Mais gite un peu sombre dès lors que le ciel est couvert . Bibliothèque - livres et brochures de découverte de la région - bien fournie .

Ruhig, geräumig, erholsam, ökologisch

Wir haben mit unserer 6jährigen Tochter fünf sehr erholsame Tage im geräumigen Gartenhäuschen von Celine und Denis verbracht. Die Kommunikation (auf Englisch) im Vorfeld und auch vor Ort war sehr unkompliziert. Die Wohnung war mit allem ausgestattet, was wir benötigten. Zum Bäcker sind es nur ca. 100 m und zum Supermarkt etwa 1000 m. Die Einkäufe und die ca. 2 km zum Strand kann man bequem mit den bereitgestellten Fahrrädern zurücklegen. Für größere Touren sind sie aufgrund des Alters vielleicht nicht mehr so geeignet. Nach drei Tagen, die wir zuvor in Paris verbracht haben, haben wir vor allem die Ruhe bei Tag und Nacht genossen. Der Strand ist selbst Anfang Juli fast menschenleer. Bei Flut kann man am Sandstrand baden, bei Ebbe den Austernfarmern bei der Arbeit an den Austernbänken zusehen. Sollte es uns noch einmal in die Normandie verschlagen, werden wir ganz sicher wieder diesen Ort buchen.

Relaxing-Oase

Wir verbrachten zwei wundervolle Wochen in einer schönen Rückzugszone des Ortes. Zwar liegt die Terasse direkt am Weg und man hat keinen Blick aufs Meer (durch eine Heckenreihe verstellt), jedoch kommt der Nachbar nur selten über diesen Weg vorbei und man sitzt duch das Gebüsch recht windgeschützt. Die Hütte bietet mit einem gemütlichen Wohn-Essraum, einem Schlafraum und einem recht großen Bad völlig ausreichend Platz für 2 Personen. Wir waren mit unserem 9-jährigen Sohn unterwegs, der dann im Wohnraum schlief - für uns völlig ok, für andere vielleicht schon etwas zu eng. Besonders nett war der Vermieter Dénis, der völlig unaufdringlich alle paar Tage mal vorbei kam (er wohnt auf dem Grundstück über dem Häuschen), gerne mal einen Wein mit trank und uns zum Abschied auch noch total nett leckeres normannische Gebäck mitgab. Schon zur Ankunft fanden wir eine Flasche hasugemachten Cidre und selbst eingekochte Pflaumenkonfitüre als kleine Aufmerksamkeit im Kühlschrank vor ... lecker! Der Ort ist sehr nett, eine (nicht so dolle) Bäckerei ist fussläufig und der Supermarkt mit dem Fahrrad schnell zu erreichen. Richtig gute Geschäfte gibt es im ca. 2-3 km entfernten Nachbarort Coutainville ... wo man morgens mit den (von Dénis zur Verfügung gestellten) Fahrrädern oder mit dem Auto beste Croissants oder sonstigen Frühstücksbedarf einkaufen kann. In Coutainville gibt es auch hübsche Restaurants (und einen super Imbiss für Merguez-frites!) und eine schöne Strandpromenade. Ca. 15 Minuten mit dem Fahrrad sind 3 große Sandstrände zu erreichen ... wir waren immer am Strand von Gonneville (mit einer süßen Caféhütte, der "Cabane"). Aber auch der Strand von Gouville und Anneville sind durch sehr hübsch (am Strand von Gouville gibt es einen empfehlenswerten Moules-frites Imbiss!) Ansonsten liegt der Ort perekt für Ausflüge von Mont Saint Michel bis Cherbourg ... oder ins Inland. Einfach schön! Wandern top! Kultur top! Lukullisch top! Strände top! Merci et à la prochaine, peut-etre, Dénis!

Séjour formidable confortable et apaisant !

Je tenais à vous confirmer que je suis ravie de mon séjour dans "votre gîte en paille" et que j'envisage d'ores et déjà de revenir mais je ne sais quand. Si je connaissais Blainville s/mer, y résider quelques jours m'a permis de mieux découvrir votre belle région. En outre, j'ai particulièrement & directement apprécié le caractère écolo du gîte. Certes attirée sur le plan intellectuel par le concept, j'ai pu apprécier son caractère apaisant :).

Great stay at the Straw House

We had a great stay at the straw house with great weather for April (much better than the UK !) Denis and Celine are really friendly and Denis English is pretty good too. He gave us lots of suggestions of what to do in the area. The Cottage is very quiet and very near some great beaches. We hope to come back soon. Camilla and Addie

Un gîte hors du commun

En effet nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans un cadre très agréable autant sur le plan de l'hébergement, de la région que sur l'accueil des propriétaires. Merci à eux pour tous leurs bons conseils qui ont enrichi nos vacances. Ce fut une semaine magique, oui, oui même si le soleil n'était pas toujours présent, toutes les promenades en bord de mer ou à l'intérieur des terres nous ont séduit. Nous conseillons ce gîte en paille pour son originalité et sa qualité. Un grand merci à Céline et Denis de la part des Auvergnats

Très agréable - Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt

Sehr angenehmes, gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage. Netter Empfang mit kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten aus dem Garten. Gute Tipps zum Erkunden der Umgebung durch die Vermieter. Der Ort Blainville eignet sich gut als Standort zum Entdecken des Cotentin. In der direkten Umgebung endlose Sandstrände und Dünenlandschaft. Cap de La Hague (superschön) und Mont St. Michel als jeweilige Endpunkte der Halbinsel ca. eine Autostunde entfernt. Auch eine Schiffstour zu den Kanalinseln ist ein toller Tagesausflug. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

Charme du milieu extérieur, bien-être intérieur
