Reasonable price and a great place to stay with family

We only stayed for one night but we had a great time. The place is neat and communication with the property owner is great.

Very very Dirty

The owner seem nice but the property was very very dirty. My entire party was not comfortable with the cleanliness of the cabin so we cut our stay there one night short. when we arrived there were ants in the kitchen and we battled them the entire stay. We had plumbing issues. The showers drained very poorly and backed up.

Fun “winter” getaway

Everything went smoothly and the listing is as described. Host is very responsive. Added bonus was the available firewood and sleds on property.

We really had a great time. This property was cute. Really could use overhaul.

We had a great time. The property location was perfect. Dust was really bad. Needed a little tlc and some work on the bathroom floor. Needs a new coffee pot and some easier ways to watch the tv. Overall a great time and beds were ok.

Cute and cozy.

Check in was really easy. The entire place was cute and cozy, just like the pics. The place needs a deep cleaning but other than that everything was great.

A cute, centrally located property

Thomas was great and very thorough. The house is cozy in general, just bring your own sheets. Some of the blankets and sheets in the kid’s room had not been washed in some time. The dishes also needed to be pre-washed prior to using.

It was okay

The cabin is cute but it wasn’t all that clean the cabin should’ve been ready at 4pm we had arranged to drop off our things at 3:30pm we did we left cause we had a boat reservation we came back at 6:55pm and Thomas had just finished cleaning. The room downstairs had a terrible smell. I opened the window and door and sprayed Lysol and the smell didn’t go away it was very bad. Wasn’t even able to sleep. The patio didnt have any lights either. It was ok for the one night we stayed but the smell in the downstairs was just terrible. The cleaning wasn’t up to my standards. Thomas was friendly and kind. The location of the cabin was perfect though. I just wouldn’t want to go back to that cabin.

Great Location!

We stayed only for one night for Fathers Day, the cabin is very big accommodated my family perfectly. Thomas is an incredible host, so kind, thorough, and promptly answered all questions prior and during our stay. The location is close to everything you might want to enjoy in Big Bear!

Christmas Stay

The cabin was amenities met basic expectations. There were minor quirks, no pepper, a limited toilet function with a ' do not fish toilet paper' in one of the two bathrooms, kitchen utensils a bit disorganized. The weird thing is a loft for sleeping space is in the discription, but there was no access unless the extension ladder outdoors is utilized - not safe. Fortunately our party size did not have to rely on the left breeding. The sofas were totally not comfortable for sleep, i.e. metal springs felt... We had a good time in any case.

Big Bear Lake Cabin

It was everything I expected even though we only stayed a night but it felt like home. The house was beautiful and clean just like I saw in the pictures. Will definitely rent this home again in the future if it’s available.

It's not a bad looking piece of property centrally located near Big Bear Village

Contacted owner on the first day due to a note requesting no toilet tissue being put in the toilet of 1 of the bathrooms. He responded by letting me know that he did have a problem with that bathroom at one time but it should be okay to put toilet tissue down the toilet. Next day use that bathroom to take shower and had drainage problem really which affected the drainage of the toilet also. I looked at previous reviews and found out that this was a prior issue. The second bathroom the way the shower was built if you didn't make sure the curtain was inside of the small edges around the shower water would be all over the floor. And our final night there for some reason we were unable to get the heater to work to heat up the property. I contacted the owner by text message to let him know about the drainage problem in the first bathroom but he never got back to me. These are some of the issues that he needs to correct along with maybe getting a new refrigerator because the handle on the refrigerator is missing. I could not see myself referring this property as long as these issues have not been corrected

Renter beware!

This is the first negative review I have ever given to a vacation rental. Although the location was great and the price reasonable there were to many unacceptable problems. I Came up with my grandkids looking for a pleasant summer vacation. The first bathroom had a constant leak from behind the toilet which soaked the floor for the whole week. The bathroom became too smelly and dangerous to use. The bath tub vibrated and rumbled when turned on. It was also missing a handle, so we couldn't use it. The second bathroom had a clogged toilet which overflowed and came up through the shower. Completely unsanitary. A plumber came and said they had the same problem with the previous renter. The plumber posted a sign and instructed us not to not use toilet paper in the toilet. What a dilemma, now we have no bathrooms to use! The TV cable reception on the main TV was not working. It took three days for cable company to come out and repair. The serviceman spent over two hours to fix the problem. Wooden rail slats in the upstair front balcony were separating from floor frame. Broken wood dinning room chair was found. You could tell other chairs were glued together in the same place. Broken beer bottle found under bed . Rusted out non functional bar b que. I notified the owner when I discovered the bathroom issues and in all fairness he did promptly respond to these concerns. However it was too little to late. We could no longer stay under these unsafe and unsanitary conditions. Hopefully these issues will be resolved so this cabin can be enjoyed by future renters.

Property was great but in need of serious maintenance

The property has tons of space and a great selection of movies and games. It definitely served the purpose of keeping us out of the snow but the place needs a lot of work. The down stairs had no power and was freezing until we located the circuit braker and reset the power. The shower basically floods the bathroom because the curtain is too small and it doesn't block all the water from coming out of the shower and pooling up on the floor. The roofing on the outside is broken and falling off in one area and is in danger of tugging on the power lines. Other than these things though, the cabin was great, so after a little upkeep, I would stay here again.

Cozy Big Bear rental centrally located

The cabin was just as described and viewed in the pictures. It was located close to Snow Summit and the Village which was really convenient when you want to get out and do some activities or walk around and get food. The cabin was fully furnished with everything you need for your stay including extra blankets, plates, bowls, pots/pans and cooking utensils. It had enough room to fit our 3 families but the living room was a bit cozy. There aren't any instructions so we couldn't figure out how to work the tv but there are DVDs that we were able to watch and plenty of board games available which was nice because we were all forced to actually spend time together enjoying each others company. Overall the place is really great. It had enough room to fit us all. The 1 bathroom ended up not being an issue and there looked to be enough parking for up to 5 cars if needed. No major issues that we found. The host was easy to get a hold of and very friendly and helpful and getting into the place when we checked in was very easy.

Great for groups

The place was perfect for our group consisted of 3 families. There was plenty of room. We had children ages from 3-15 with us and the place was perfect for them Very close to Snow summit for those who are likes to snowboard or ski. Nearby food places too like McDonalds. There are few things that should be repaired and organized but it didnt bother us at all. We will definitely rent this cabin back again.

House Fell Apart

Visited with large group excited to be together and enjoy Big Bear. By the end of the couple days, we had discovered a multitude of broken and dangerous aspects of the cabin. The fridge handle was taped on, the toilet clogged multiple times, the floor board was loose, shower very difficult to use, heat was complicated, chair broke while sitting in it, sink would not work. Tried to explain these things to the owner and was laughed at. Very unhelpful and not understanding how frustrating these issues were for our group.

Great Cabin, Location, and Property Manager

Had a great weekend up in Big Bear, walking location to the lake and village. There is a loft with 2 mattresses, like a tree house, the kids loved it (accessed by ladder, safety railings in place). Only one bathroom but it does have a deep soaking tub. There's also a basement/lower level which is nice for the teenagers. Feels larger than it really is. We loved the stove/fireplace and spent most of our time around it. This was my second time visiting and plan on going again. Under fantastic management who kept the property properly stocked and worked with our needs. Highly Recommend.

Sweet and cozy cabin!

This was such a lovely time. The cabin is in a great location (walking distance to the village AND the lake). It has a very cozy and comfy vibe with a lot of really fun bear and cabin decor. There is plenty of space to sleep, a cute fireplace, and a really lovely kitchen. There are even televisions in all of the rooms and plenty of games and movies to choose from. This is such a great place to relax and unwind. So thankful for this cabin in Big Bear! Would definitely stay again.

Why they chose this property

My daughter and I visited Big Bear for months before we stumbled on the perfect mountain getaway for us.

What makes this property unique

The cabin was a fixer upper, I am handy and enjoy remodeling. After many years of intense work this labor of love is now our home away from home. My daughter is older now and not as available. My family lives out of state, so friends and I get ways are limited.
