Beautiful Ocean/Mountain Views, Cosy Yet Comfy + Quiet & Secure - GREAT VALUE & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Chose to stay at this 1 Bedroom 13th Floor apartment of Makaha Valley Towers Complex as I was in Hawaii for a wedding & was close to relatives staying at Army Cabins in Waianae plus it seemed much quieter than nearby Hawaiian Princess & Makaha Beach Cabins & was much BETTER VALUE for Money.
If I didn't have places to go, I could've honestly spent my whole week in that condo as a retreat staring endlessly at the ocean & mountain views only coming out for food & necessities when needed.
The apartment itself is self contained with all that you would need to live anywhere including Cable TV, Dedicated Wireless Internet, bedding, towels etc minus food of course A/C which we used at night while the cool ocean breeze was welcome during the humidity & heat of the day.
The Condo comfortably slept 3 single guys in 3 separate areas being the Bedroom, (what I assume to be was) Converted Walk thru Wardrobe now 2nd Bed and Lounge Room.
My only complaint is that the main bed was too soft for me so had some lower back pain & cramping the next day but thankfully there was a fold out futon bed in the walk through wardrobe next door & my back was fine the following day.
The Complex itself has its own Inground Heated Pool open from 8am-8pm where the whole time I was there, there were never more than 5 people in it at the most otherwise it was empty.
It also is High Security where the only way in is thru a 24 hour manned Gatehouse & if you're driving, you'll need to pay a $50 refundable fee for a Parking Permit for the week.
Speaking of transport, other than the local Bus which stops just outside the complex, I'd recommend getting a rental car to get around as even the nearest store being 7-11 on Farrington Hwy is 2 miles away or 43 minute walk one way (according to Google Maps).
The nearby beaches have crystal blue waters & golden sand & were deserted for the most part keeping in mind most of West Oahu is low income & high employment which does keep tourists away but personally, at no time did I feel unsafe.
Randy the owner was a joy to deal with, friendly & approachable & although he lives in Mainland U.S.A., he was always on hand via email or phone for any questions I had & flexible enough at the last minute to include my 2 cousins in my rental agreement whose accommodation fell through at the last moment.
If I was in the neighbourhood again, definitely stay here again for sure.
Stayed here from Thursday, 28th of July 2016 to Thursday, 4th of August 2016.
