Ok
I loved the cabin but there were downfalls. For instance it is not close to town, we timed an average of 23 minutes to get to town, and you cannot fish on Beaver Lakes although other renters did. A small car would not make it up the cabins driveway at all, and the pull out couch is pretty bad. You are better off bringing an air mattress for comfort instead of the pull out couch. This cabin would be great for a single family who wants to disconnect from the world. Make sure to get directions to the cabin as gps will fail you. Other than that it was great.
Perfect for our stay. Well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bed. Two old people and a dog. We cooked in most of the time because of the virus. Thanks Dan for sharing your beautiful place.

The pictures do not do this cabin justice, it’s so beautiful
This was the perfect place to bring our young girls. It had the whole experience of camping and being in the woods without waking up cold and sleeping in sleeping bags. The cabin had everything we needed.

Relaxing
We loved the house, the area, pretty much everything. We were looking for quiet and remote, with the amenities we needed. Traveled some 4WD trails, hiked a little (all within 20 minutes) and mostly relaxed. Perfect for stress relief.
Dan was quick to respond, the directions and instructions were great. The house is well stocked with everything you need to prepare meals with the supplies you bring.
We will be back.

Property was charming, quiet and serene. The perfect place to reconnect as a family
The cabin was clean, cozy, and perfect for our family of four. Both our teen son and preteen daughter loved the quiet and natural surroundings. Sleeping was perfect for four and the two baths were the perfect size. One shower was not an inconvenience. Cabin was well-stocked with dishes and essentials. Layout of cabin was perfect. Enjoyed sledding down the driveway and the views on the way up were spectacular. Saw large herds of elk every afternoon. The owner was very attentive and helpful prior to our stay. Would love to stay again and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for a wonderful trip and new memories in a special place.

Beautiful cabin in a great private location.
The cabin is beautifully built, very cozy and comfortable. The home is in a beautiful private location near town but not too close. However, the cabin is very minimally stocked in the kitchen. Be prepared to take your own kitchen necessities such as spices, condiments, food wrap (foil/plastic wrap), containers for leftovers, cooking oil etc. overall the house it’s self was great and perfect romantic getaway for two

Great get away!
Great "trapper's cabin" away from it all. Had everything we needed and such a beautiful area that was so peaceful. If you want to just get away to the mountains to explore, this is your place.

Doesn't get quieter than this!
We were amazed at the quiet and solitude of this little gem! Honestly, the only sounds we heard were the soft rain falling on the roof. It seems there was heat because we were always comfortable but we never once heard anything like a furnace or a water heater...or a phone...or a television. My cell phone went off ...once...but I made quick work of that! I highly recommend enjoying this as a couple but there is room in the living room for two more if need be. The kitchen was perfectly appointed for a gourmet meal! I brought key kitchen tools I would need but didn't need them after all. I could have even made due with the spices he keeps on hand! The only thing we could have wished for were linens out and at the ready. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did, Thanks Dan!

Autumn at its finest!
What a perfect fall getaway for our family. The house was wonderful and had everything we needed to be comfortable. Easy to get to great hiking area at top of road. The aspen fall color was framed in every window, including the bedroom. Amazing views driving to and from the house. We would definitely recommend this rental to anyone who wants the true mountain experience with all the creature comforts.

A Great Escape
This property is beautiful and in a beautiful outer-Leadville location. Some might be frustrated with no cell service, TV, or high-speed WiFi; but none of that is needed here. Enjoy the aspens and the mountains. Relax.

Amazing hideaway for a Colorado getaway!
We live in Colorado Springs and had guests visiting from the midwest. This cabin up in the woods was the perfect spot to experience what an amazing place Colorado is. We couldn't have asked for more cozy cabin with classic Colorado "homeyness." Surrounding by a forest of Aspens and great drive up we got everything we where expecting.

Lovely Cabin!
This cabin is a lovely place to stay! It was clean and we loved the view out the upstairs window! It is an awesome drive over the Independence pass and the Turquoise Lake is a beautiful place to picnic, fish or hike. We would certainly choose to stay here again, if we ever return to this part of Colorado!

Beautifully appointed & relaxing getaway
This home had everything we needed for our weekend family mountain biking getaway. All the finishes and fixtures are simple, elegant, and so thoughtfully done. Beds are comfortable, the interior wood is beautiful, and the radiant heated floors are a great touch. Thank you for providing WiFi but not tv's, radios, etc. - we LOVED having a few days without screens! We will absolutely return!

Really cool place!
We loved staying at this cabin in the Aspens. It is very carefully crafted and unique. The cabin was equipped quite nicely and the views from all around inside the cabin are amazing! It's really private and quiet and we just thought we would miss not having a TV, but never gave it a second thought. There are lots of things to do in Leadville. We recommend taking the Mine driving tour, walking the town and checking out Turquoise lake. We took the hike at the lake called Timberline Lake. It goes 4.5 miles round trip and takes you to a beautiful little lake even higher in the mountains. It's got a pretty good slope uphill so get in shape before you come, otherwise, it's pretty easy. Thank you, Dan, for sharing your place with us. Perhaps we can return sometime.

My 55th Birthday get away with family
The cabin is gorgeous, everything I hoped for. Dan is an amazing artisan, I could tell he really put his heart, soul, and craftsmanship into this beautiful place. From the stone shower, the copper sinks, the beautiful wood, and his personal touches made this an inviting and relaxing get away. Dan responded to my emails and answered questions in an exceptional time frame, with a twist of humor, that I loved. He gave spot on directions. The additional space was very well done and quite comfy for my guests, and can be closed off for privacy if you choose. Our 2 dogs truly enjoyed the adventure, thank you ever so much for allowing them to experience this amazing get away with me. Was a bonus to meet Dan as we were packing up, what a generous and humble man. I am very grateful for him sharing this quaint place with me. We created wonderful memories that will stay with me for a life time. Blessings, I will return again!

Unique Rustic Getaway
What a unique and inviting cabin Dan has built, nestled in a great quiet location. One of my favorite features was the view of Mt Elbert through the aspen trees, from the living room window.

The house, the location, and the overall quality of our stay was fantastic.
The craftsmanship of the house is beautiful and the radiant infloor heat is a bliss. The location of the house is perfect because it's quiet and you can see Mt Elbert from the downstairs while having a cup of coffee. The trash bin was full so that was a bummer. I am allergic to cats and could tell right away there had been a cat in the house. The kitchen was well stocked. This was a great experience and appreciated the stay. Thank you.

Clean, tidy, rustic, and welcoming!
Great location, just a quick 15 minute drive from Leadville. Roads were very manageable and recently plowed. Great directions provided. The house is modern, very well laid out, and has a welcoming feel. The sufficient spacing and interior decor was impressive. Good selection of interesting mountainesque reads adorn the shelves. Highly recommend this space and this host.

Great Cabin
Let me start off by saying I am an artist and a craftsman. I can tell Dan put a lot of love into building it. The cabin is incredible! We showed up a day after a large winter storm to a plowed driveway and a shoveled walkway. Once we walked in we immediately noticed the warm floors and awesome woodwork. This place is a great option if you truly want to get away from it all. I will defiantly make this trip again. I would even consider building a cabin like this for myself. Send the plans my way Dan! The trip from 24 to the cabin took about 20 minutes on snowy roads. Better have a 4x4 or all wheel drive.
