Lovely village in beautiful area but the gite falls well short of acceptable minimum standards.
The gite had not been cleaned or checked properly prior to our arrival. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere. The toilet was dirty and there were hairs under the toilet seat. The bathroom is very basic with a piece of plastic sheeting stapled to a wooden frame as a shower curtain. This was black with mould along the bottom. The bathroom smelt terribly and this smell spread into the bedroom next door. The "garage" is too small to park a car in and was littered with garden rubbish. The garden was overgrown. Worst of all there was an ants' nest in the ceiling above the bed and dead ants, debris and ants eggs had fallen onto the bed and the floor. We booked for a week but left after one night after the smell got too bad and more dead ants and debris fell on us in our bed during the night. The owner offered to come to look the following day but we did not want to stay any longer as it was too unpleasant and he would not have been able to fix the problems quickly. I told the owner by email that we were leaving early in the morning but he later complained that I left without telling him or waiting for him to come. He also accused us of leaving the house with dog hairs in every room (impossible as our dog only went in the kitchen and entrance hall) and that our dog had left a mess in the garden (which, as far as I am aware, it did not). The owner and VRBO have refused any refund because we did not wait for the owner to come before leaving. The owner suggested that a few spiders and ants are to be expected in an old property. Thats is true but not an infestation nor lack of cleaning and horrible smells. VRBO customer service was useless and did nothing to help the situation. My advice is to avoid this house unless you are content with a smelly and dirty property and don't mind sleeping with dead ants....My advice also is to avoid VRBO as their customer service when things go wrong is totally useless. Trust Pilot reviewers claim that bad reviews are not published, so it wil be interesting to see if this is actually appears on their website...

Trés belle maison ancienne bien rénovée ; par contre le jardin est dans un total abandon :terrasse pas nettoyée , table couverte de poussière , sets de tables détériorés et collés sur la nappe , tas de détritus de végétaux sur place , branches mortes du rosier, et glycine morte sur la rambarde ! Première chose une nettoyage de la table et de la terrasse (où la vue est très belle). Il est manifeste que les photos du jardin de l'annonce n'ont rien à voir avec l'état actuel de celui ci . L'intérieur de la maison est poussiéreux ; le protège évier est moisi , les draps sont très fatigués ;le sol entre la douche et les wc est noir et a besoin d'un bon nettoyage . Je tiens à la disposition du propriétaire et d'Abritel les photos prises sur place attestant ces affirmations . En conclusion : Cette maison avait tout pour faire un agréable séjour , mais elle est actuellement dans un état d'abandon inacceptable pour une location digne de ce nom et de ce prix .

Un souvenir très mitigé
Belle grande chambre lumineuse même si le couvre-lit servait de couverture ! Propreté absolue des sanitaires même si la sdb était étriquée. Nous aurions dû manger dans la cuisine mais poêlon et casserole étaient incrustés de crasses que nous avons tenté d'enlever sans succès. Une poêle était huileuse... Le saladier était en deux morceaux, il y avait 24 verres de 16 sortes différentes...on dirait que la cuisine a récupéré tous les restes d'un ménage. Un WC donne directement dans la cuisine...bref ce n'était pas la joie . Pas beaucoup de photos dans l'annonce dont une très flatteuse...je ne vais pas donner mon appréciation sur la sorte de musée avec beaucoup d'objets rouillés, écaillés car les goûts et couleurs... heureusement que monsieur Jérôme qui nous a accueilli était aimable et disponible. Deux épis sont flatteurs.

Ein wunderbares kleines Museum
Schönes historisches Haus, geschmackvoll dekoriert mit vielen Fundstücken vom Flohmarkt. Ein kleines Museum. Die Aussicht vom Schlafzimmerfenster und von der Terrasse aus ist einfach umwerfend! Überhaupt ist die ganze Gegend spektakulär schön; zur Einstimmung am besten über Nyons und durch die Gorges de Saint-May anreisen. Wir waren im Vorfeld ein bisschen in Sorge, weil in einer der Bewertungen von Straßenlärm die Rede war, aber Anfang April war der kleine Ort absolut ruhig. Laut kann es hier höchstens in der Hochsaison werden, wenn viele Autos zum Badesee fahren, oder vielleicht am Wochenende durch den Lärm von Motorrädern (die Gegend ist ein Bikerparadies). Das Mobilfunknetz hat gut funktioniert, so dass wir problemlos auch ohne WLAN ausgekommen sind. Im Nachbarort Rémuzat gibt es einen kleinen Laden mit Produkten der Region (hervorragender Käse, Wurst, Fleisch etc.). Unbedingt hingehen! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sicher irgendwann wieder.

Très belle maison, spacieuse Nous avons était très bien accueillis par Jérôme qui est très sympathique. La maison est fidèle au descriptif à l'intérieur avec cet aspect ancien qui nous a plu. De plus il y a tout le nécessaire pour l'entretien. Le seul petit bémol pour nous qui vivons à la campagne, c'est que la maison surplombe la rue principale qui traverse le village d'où quelques nuisances sonores mais qui ne nous ont pas empêcher de dormir ! Ce séjour fut agréable avec de magnifiques paysages et des villages typiques ! Merci à Michèle et Paul d'avoir réhabilité cette maison avec goût et de nous avoir permis de découvrir la Drôme provençale

séjour reposant malgré une météo caniculaire
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette région que nous ne connaissions pas. Le gite est agréable et surtout frais ce que nous avons bien apprécié ayant subi des chaleurs très fortes. Nous avons utilisé la terrasse ombragée dans ce joli petit village. Nous recommandons la boulangerie qui fait un pain extraordinaire. le gite est très bien équipé.

Dans l'écrin des montagnes de Cornillon sur l'Oule, où coule une rivière !
Nous avons découvert avec ravissement un véritable petit musée recréé par nos hôtes, avec tant d'art et de goût, que l'on peut vivre à "l'Oustaou d'Ulysse" aussi bien l'instant présent, que l'atmosphère des années 20; c'est une ancienne bergerie transformée en un gîte adorable et confortable, d'où l'on contemple le cirque de montagnes alentour et la rivière, tout au fond. Nous étions venus en famille, et avons trouvé là tout ce qu'il fallait pour un chaleureux et pittoresque séjour; le soleil a été de la partie au moins pour trois jours ! Mais la pluie avait aussi son charme. Autour, excursions, pigue-niques au bord du lac, visites aux troupeaux gardés par les patous, passage dans la boulangerie bio et exploration des richesses des producteurs locaux associés: nous n'avons pas vu le temps passer ! Et le farniente dans le petit jardin de rêve fut aussi un immense plaisir. Nous y repensons avec nostalgie depuis le gris Paris, mais espérons très fort y revenir. Un immense merci à nos hôtes pour leur hospitalité totale.
