Spacious & charming Provencal family holiday villa – pool + with plenty of things to do nearby
We spent 2 weeks at the villa with a family of 5. The villa is spacious, with plenty of charm. Kitchen has everything you need. Main lounge is very spacious and keeps nice and cool in the day. Bedrooms all nicely laid out, French doors on the main room with lovely view. This is matched outside. Main draw is the pool which we used morning and evening. Kids loved jumping and playing around, very, very clean, water refreshing and cool through-out the day which was a blessing. Whole garden is laid-back Provençal charm, elegantly designed. None of the garden is over-looked. Rochefort-du-Gard is a charming little village, deceptively small and quiet on first impression, but main market on Sunday, with Food trucks (very good indeed) on Thursday. Bar, and ice-cream parlour, we also had a fun fair when we were there. Around Rochefort, there’s loads to do. Avignon is 15 mins drive and easy/free to park. Lots of little villages nearby, plenty of bric-a-brac markets on Sundays. Marseille about 1.5hrs by train when we went. Kids loved the water park which was nearby. Also loads of history with Roman amphitheatre in Orange and kayaking at Pont-du-Gare were other highlights. Our hosts Alain & Sylvie were super charming – and gave us loads of ideas and were so generous with their local produce to share it with us, very memorable. And the food, local supermarket open every day, butchers inside is incredible, they take eating very seriously and rightly so. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back
