About this property

Pet Friendly 1800’s cabin! Stay with us for Weddings, Wineries, and more!

If you're looking for a unique vacation rental in central Alabama, look no further than this 1812 cabin.  This historic cabin is loaded with character and is located on forty acres of land, offering plenty of room to relax and unwind.

The cabin has three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms, making it perfect for families or groups of friends. The interior of the cabin is rustic and charming, with original wooden beams and floors that date back over two centuries. Despite its age, the cabin has been lovingly restored and updated to provide the modern conveniences you'll need for a comfortable stay.  You'll find a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, and the amenities you will need to make yourself at home.

But, the real magic of this home lies outside.  The cabin is located on a picturesque farm with a beautiful pond, longhorn cows, and horses.  You can enjoy the view from the screened-in back porch or hang out in the large back yard- complete with a Cowboy Cauldron grill that's perfect for cooking up a feast like they did in the old days.

Despite its rural location, this cabin is close to town, so you can easily stock up on supplies or explore the local area. But once you're back at the cabin, you'll feel miles away from civilization, surrounded by nothing but nature.

If you're looking for a vacation rental like no other in the area, this cabin is the perfect choice.  With its rich history, charming character, and idyllic location, it's the perfect place to unwind, relax, and make memories.  It's no surprise that Ozzy and Jack Osborne loved the cabin, as they visited while filming an episode of their hit TV show.  It's not hard to see everybody loves it so much- the cabin is a true gem, offering a one-of-a-kind getaway that you won't find anywhere else.

If you're looking to host an event at the cabin for over ten people, we encourage you to contact us for pricing.  We offer packages that are tailored to your specific needs, whether you're planning a family reunion, a wedding, a party, or a corporate retreat.   We understand that every event is unique, and we are happy to provide a price for you.  We look forward to working with you to create a memorable event that you and your guests will cherish for years to come.

Weekend stay for a soccer tournament

We had the BEST time at this cabin!! Luke the caretaker for the property was amazing and helped our youngest boy find the best spot to fish and even got him two to reel in! The teens loved the fishing and exploring of the property - they enjoyed having their own room and bathroom. They have horses and cows roaming and cute chicken coop - we lit a fire in the cowboy cauldron with firewood provided. Very few electronics were used this weekend because a good time was had by all - the uniqueness of the cabin is unmatched. We will definitely be visiting again!

Great, relaxing getaway

This was an excellent weekend getaway with family to unwind and relax! The property looks even better in person than in pictures. The cabin was very clean and had plenty of room, and the outdoor space with the pond was the perfect spot for our kids to explore, play and fish. The owners were extremely accommodating, nice and responsive. We hope to visit thia property again next year!

Great Weekend Getaway

Our family (6 adults) rented the property for a weekend wedding event. It was a nice getaway in between events and provided much-needed downtime. Be sure to take your fishing poles and get ready to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Cozy. Relaxing. Amazing.

I stayed here for one night in April and I wish I could have stayed forever. It is so close to town, but you feel like you are away on a retreat. Fishing in the pond is so relaxing and sitting on the back deck rocking is great! The entire place just makes you want to live there. Would recommend for all ages - kids to adults!

A great retreat from a busy week.

I found this property just looking for a place to stay for a wedding in Birmingham. It was more than advertised!!!! The atmosphere there was very laid back and relaxing. I looked forward to returning there each evening to relax and unwind after a busy day. The mornings were wonderful. A cup of coffee on the back porch was very nice (we had all our meals out there also). My 3yoa grandson had a wonderful time and went each morning to look for the Mooeys (cows), the horses, the pony and the chickens. He also had a great time exploring and fishing. No need for any kind of electronics to keep him happy and occupied. I think we watched about 2 hours of TV the whole week we were there. I can't reccommend this place enough. LOVED IT!!!

Amazing Getaway

If you need to get away, this place is the perfect relaxing, refreshing getaway. This 1800's era log cabin has all the modern conveniences while the rustic decor maintains the true character of the old cabin. The spacious kitchen seemed to be a popular hangout for us as it provided ample room to mingle as meals were prepared. The full length screened inn back porch is the perfect place to enjoy after dinner drinks. Due to working in Birmingham, we were only there in the evenings, so we did not get to see much of the grounds. Simply put...it was an amazing place to stay! Will definitely go back.

Wonderful cottage exceeded expectations

This historic log cabin is spacious, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The cabin is set within a stunningly beautiful rural landscape, but within easy driving distance to Birmingham. Longhorn steer, goats and horses stroll peacefully in the distance as you look out the windows at the picturesque views. The owner is friendly and helpful, and replies promptly to queries. The cabin is appropriate for short or longer stays and can comfortably accommodate a family; excellent for special occasions. You will be charmed and delighted by this unforgettable property! Highly recommended!

Check off bucket list item

We try to find quiet neighborhoods when renting properties and this cabin fit the bill. Other than some coyotes howling the first night, the property was very quiet! One downside for us is that our dog needed to stay inside the property fence due to the long horned cattle on the acreage. Also, the bath adjacent to the kitchen needs deep cleaning or replacement of the shower curtain liner. At least I can now check off staying in an 1800’s log cabin!

Perfect Month!

I stayed in this amazing cabin for a month. It was just perfect. I loved sitting on the screened-in porch in the mornings watching the birds go to work, and then in the afternoons watching the longhorn cattle come around. The pond is beautiful--my son swam in it, and he and my husband fished. Didn't catch anything, but maybe that's because some people brought their horses over for a swim, which was fun to watch! The setting was ideal, right in the middle of a horse farm, and the cabin itself was very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. I was thinking that maybe Susie was going to have to call the Sheriff to get rid of me, but then I sucked it up and left on my own! It was a golden time.

Log home perfection!

Visiting this beautiful log home was like going back in time ..... But with plumbing, lights and Heating & Air (yay!!!). It was fun to see the details in an 1800's log home yet it is so comfy. Our family of two adults and three children enjoyed spending time in the living room together. The huge back porch with view of the pond is a super special place. There is plenty of room in the home for the kids to spread out and explore - even play hide and seek. We planned a tight schedule for the kids on this Christmas trip. We planned museum visits and light shows, but we threw all our plans aside and enjoyed being at the beautiful cabin home on the farm. Loved the horses, cows, goats, and the pond. It was all so much fun! The owner Susie is very kind and easy to reach and speak with. She put up the most beautiful Christmas tree for us to enjoy in the cabin. It was a lovely trip- a big hit with all of us!

Very rustic!

Gave cleanliness a 3 star because of the Oreo cookie on top of the picture frame in downstairs bedroom and cobwebs. Entire front wall “cried” from tv to front door when it rained, and stairs going up to 3 beds were also wet when raining - this just added to rusticness. Loved the house and atmosphere. It was dark even with the many lights and lamps on which was challenging for a vision impaired person in our group. Would recommend you mark the step-downs clearly both inside and on deck. We are not familiar with a built in air fryer instead of oven so that too was limiting. Yard was perfect for children and dogs. Enjoyed the daily visits of livestock and the large screened deck. House overall was fun to explore and discover its secrets. I would return, loved the “character” of it, but had some in our group who did not like it at all. Would warn any extra guests over eight is charged extra (despite listing for 10) and need to bring your own sleeping arrangements for them. As previously reviewed your constantly washing silverware to have enough for everyone. Impressed with quality of kitchen dishes.

Peace and Relaxation in the Country

What a cool place!! We have owned multiple country properties ourselves but had to be close to our kids in Birmingham for the holidays. This is an incredible place. It has the amazing warmth of a truly old cabin with all the amenities that let us enjoy and relax. You feel like you are completely isolated from civilization, but one night we went into town for pizza. Great place!!
