Great Place to Stay in Old Lyon

Clothilde settled us in and organised a taxi for our departure.She was a thoughtful host. The apartment is close to restaurants, shops and historical sites. Highly recommended.

Wonderful outlook

Clothilde's apartment was spacious and very comfortable and had a fully equipped kitchen. The main area looked out directly on the Saône River with its boat and barge traffic which was very interesting. The apartment was located in Vieux Lyon with all its food and hospitality offerings. We very much enjoyed staying there.

Heat and Noise

The apartment is in an amazing area of Lyon. So many Bouchons and bars only minutes walk away. However there is no cooling of any kind. If you’re coming during summer or Autumn be prepared to swelter. A few ceiling fans would’ve helped. The only other issue was noise. Tres noisey. You need to keep the windows open to keep cool but due to the noise unfortunately you can’t. A shame as the owner was fantastic but all it needs is cooling.

Great apartment in top location

This is a great apartment and Clothilde has made sure it has everything you need. It is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed is really comfortable. Staying in the old town means you’re close to all the main sights and experiences that inner Lyon has to offer - we walked almost everywhere. Of course being so central means it can be a bit noisy on hot nights when the windows are open but it’s worth it for the Vieux Lyon experience.

Great apartment and great location

Clothilde was very helpful on check-in and explaining everything about the apartment. The apartment is well equipped with all the necessary things for a short or long stay.It is in a great location in the old town and very close to lots of little cafes and pubs. Overlooking the river with beautiful food markets just on the other side of the river. Clothilde kindly booked a cab for us on our day of departure. One less thing to worry about. We highly recommend it and would happily stay there again.

Very enjoyable week in a well organised warm apartment. Great view of Soane River and surrounds. Easy walking to sites of Vieux Lyon, and public transport close by if you needed to go afar. Highly recommended.

Perfect stay in Lyon

We absolutely loved our stay in Clothilde’s beautiful apartment. It is spacious, stylish, has an excellent & well equipped kitchen and the beds were really comfortable. Clothilde was fantastic with our check in and also organised our taxi for the airport when we left. The location is great, right on the river in the historic Vieux Lyon - a beautiful area- but still close to everything- Lyon is a great city for walking. We shopped at the local market across the river and prepared our own dinners - but we could also take advantage of some really great Bouchons & cafes in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend Clothilde’s apartment, and we would hope to stay there again when we return to Lyon. Also, Lyon is a great place for day trips - we visited Pérouges & Annecy. As it was the middle of summer, and a particularly hot week- there was plenty of street activity- mostly in the gelato shop downstairs. We didn’t mind this at all - and with the windows closed, the street noise was greatly reduced. Having said that, the area feels really safe and friendly. Thanks Clothilde for a wonderful stay.

Lovely stay in historic property

Clothilde was a great host and gave us a thorough briefing on the apartment when we arrived. She was very friendly and extremely helpful, for instance organising a taxi for us the day we left and even phoning my SIM card provider as I had to register by phone which had only French speaking operators. The apartment has a lovely view of the river, great for people watching and looking at river boats going by. As others have mentioned it is a busy and lively area with the ice cream shop below but with windows shut the noise is cut out and we did not mind as it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves. Made us wish we were younger! It’s a great area to stay with so much at hand.

Great apartment and location

We had a wonderful stay in Clothilde’s apartment. Lyon is a beautiful city. The apartment is in the old town overlooking the Saone river. There are numerous restaurants and bars close by. The apartment is not far from Lyon’s Notre Dame and Roman ruins which are accessible by funicular. The rest of Lyon is also easily accessible via a bus which stops literally around the corner. Would also highly recommend availing yourself of a free 2 hour walking tour offered by volunteers of the Lyon Greeters group. You will need to book at least a couple of months in advance.

Superb Apartment in an ideal Location

Firstly Clothilde was very easy to contact and communicate with and in excellent English as my French is not up to that standard. Our arrival process was very easy and the apartment is in a great location for exploring the city on foot. There is a lift so you do not have to drag your luggage up to the first floor. Everything we could have possibly needed was available in the apartment including laundry detergent as well as the usual condiments and olive oil. There are restaurants galore in the vicinity and a Monoprix supermarket quite close by which is well stocked. This is a really lovely apartment and we would definitely look to stay again if we go back to Lyon. Thank you Clothilde

Charming secure apartment in a lovely location on the river.

The apartment was very comfortable clean with all modern amenities. It was very conveniently located near restaurants, boulangerie and the old part of town. The owner was very helpful, generous and a pleasure to deal with.

Great location with very good services

The property was exceptionally well located with views of the Saone River from the first floor apartment. There were many features within the property that we used including cooking facilities and the washing machine. Drying clothes was easy. We enjoyed the vibrant nature of the immediate area and although there was noise in the evening we were usually out amongst the the people enjoying the old town atmosphere. The property is well positioned for accessing the outstanding public transport network in Lyon. Clothilde (owner) was very helpful and ensured we were well settled. Overall a very good spot to enjoy a very interesting city.

We have rented many apart...

We have rented many apartments in France in the past few years and this has been the very best! The apartment was very comfortable and superbly set up with everything one could possibly need including a Nespresso machine and a variety of capsules. Clothilde was most friendly and helpful including calling us to check that everything was OK and returning to the apartment to sort out an issue with the telephone connection. The location, overlooking the river and in the centre of Vieux Lyon was fantastic, a five minute walk to excellent markets and transport including the little ferry which takes you to Confluence (a great retail centre with an excellent supermarket). Two wonderful boulangeries were also very close to the apartment and we could easily walk to many fabulous restaurants. This apartment should be given a 5 star rating, it was superb! Many thanks to Clothilde for a memorable stay in beautiful Lyon - the food capital of France.

Comfortable and nicely located apartment

The apartment is near the most important sites and close to excellent restaurants. We were able to communicate easily with the host, e.g., asking for the heat to be turned on. The big open market is just across the bridge, which made for wonderful food shopping. In all, a very nice place from which to explore Lyon. We enjoyed looking out the windows at the Saone and its boat traffic.

Great apartment

This large apartment is in a fabulous location along the river and in old town Lyon Very convenient to shopping, restaurants, bars, and many of the sights. The mattress is comfortable, the shower good, the kitchen is well-equipped. Clothide is great to deal with. She was very responsive to our pre-arrival inquiries. She met us at the apartment and explained things. We would stay there again.

Un séjour parfait avec une localisation extraordinaire

Nous sommes demeurés 8 jours, ce qui n’est pas trop pour découvrir cette magnifique ville.Il faut vraiment aller à l’Office de tourisme. L’appartement est très, très bien situé pour la visite à pied de plusieurs sites d’intérêt et l’offre commerciale est très intéressante tout autour (marché, épicerie, boulangerie). Les procédures d’arrivée et de départ ont été parfaites. Je reviendrais volontiers. Merci Clothilde.

Historic, central and comfortable

The apartment was perfect for our week in Lyon. We were charmed by the historic building as well as the immediate access to the old town and bridges to the business district. We loved relaxing in living room with a view of the river, and using the spacious kitchen. The comfortable bedroom was quiet in spite of this central location. Clear information is provided on using the space and the appliances. Host was amazingly responsive and helpful.
