The Loft was a great place to stay, come, and go!
It's not fancy here but this isn't what we came for. This is a low-key place where you can be comfortable, move around in different rooms, make some easy food or reheat your leftovers from the town, sit and relax without being on top of each other. We didn't use the W/D or cook a meal, but it was great for sleeping in, toasting a bagel, drinking coffee, then getting on your way. We ventured around town and came back for mini rests before the next event - this place is perfect for such.
The owner Susie is sweet - we met her at Cafe Max. Cafe Max was our favorite meal, apart from Papa's Pan Pizza. Nothing bad to say about the other restaurants but these were our favorites.
The apartment has great access to Main St. and the fun, eclectic stores. Parking was very easy. Unlike other guests, we were here for the Lake Festival and Culver Homecoming but we never heard noise from below.
There is a historic, downtown, charm while staying here. There are indeed steep stairs to get to the apartments but for us, this was part of the charm!
The apartment was clean, comfortable, and functional. We'd stay here again, for sure! Thanks Susie!
We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and it’s in a great location. Just keep in mind you will hear early morning noises like pots and pans banging from Max’s Cafe kitchen below.
Nice place in a good location. Windows have opaque coverings on them so you can't see out them, but the place is still quite bright and cheery. In spite of being over businesses, it was very quiet. There are two electric vehicle chargers (free) across the street from the building, which we happily used. Stairs up to the apartment are pretty steep, so if you have bad knees, this might be an issue for you. Would stay here again.
We loved staying at The Loft in Culver. Very nice apartment, cozy and comfortable. Fantastic location since one of our number one things to do when we go to Culver is to eat at Cafe Max!! Will definitely stay there again!!
This was an ideal place to stay and my two kids and I loved it! Cafe Max is sooooo good and obviously so convenient. Plus the awesome host, though crazy busy, went out of her way to help us deal with lost luggage and other nuttiness. The only tiny thing I'd mention is that we couldn't tell from the listing or confirmation email if we were staying in the back apartment or the other one. Took us a little longer to navigate our way in after a long drive late at night. But otherwise, perfect in every way and so grateful for Susie's many kindnesses.
