About this property

Front porch with bed swing, Pets Welcome, Hot Tub, Fireplace, Creek, Firepit.

Firefly Haven Creekside Lodge is a popular honeymoon destination, family reunion locale, and a quick rafting/biking getaway (just minutes to Tsali or the NOC). Home recently renovated and newly furnished for luxury and comfort. This home has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath and comfortably sleeps 6. The first floor offers one bedroom, one bath, two living rooms, a fully appointed kitchen, and a laundry room. The 2nd level offers a combined bedroom and living room. There is a large front porch with rockers to enjoy the views of the creek and forest and there is a back porch with hot tub. The home can easily host a group of couples or a family as there’s enough room to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. The cabin is in the back of a very lovely community. The cottage has easy access as it is off of a flat road that is mostly paved and part gravel. There is ample parking that is suitable for all vehicles and motorcycles. After a fun day of outdoor recreation, have a soothing soak in the home’s private hot tub or gather around the fireplace in the family room with your travel companions. You won’t have to miss the basic conveniences of a home while staying here – This home comes with its own washer and dryer plus a fully equipped kitchen, and gas grill so you can make yummy home-cooked meals while on vacation.
The home's setting is picturesque as the home sits on 9 beautiful acres and there is a forest surrounding the home that is host to deer turkey and other wildlife. There are two other small Tiny House cabins on this 9 acre property. They are rentals as well and are situated a good distance away from the cabin and the outdoor spaces all face opposite directions to optimize privacy. You’ll also have easy access to everything the Great Smoky Mountain region has to offer, including opportunities for hiking, biking, horseback riding, boating, fishing, white-water rafting, shopping, dining, sightseeing and more. The Nantahala National Forest and Lake Fontana, the Fontana Dam and the Great Smokey Mountain Railway are some of the many favorite things to do that are super close to the cabin.

Lovely cabin
We love the location and try to come as much as we can. This is our first time in this cabin and it was great, comfortable beds, spacious and well equipped kitchen, but most of all, the bed swing and hot tub!

Well-appointed and comfortable cottage.
My husband and I enjoyed the calm, quiet atmosphere and the location convenient to hiking and other outdoor activities. Close enough to Bryson City to enjoy what the town has to offer. Did not make it to Cherokee this trip, but it's a short drive. Only complaint was some difficulty accessing my VRBO account online.

Memorial Day weekend getaway
Cute private little cottage next to a mountain stream, dog friendly with a relaxing front porch perfect for relaxing and listening to the sounds of the birds and the mountain stream. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax this is the perfect place. There is a fire pit along the stream and a hot tub on the deck. Looks like there were 2 other tiny houses on the same property but they are far enough away that you don’t really see the other guests or you could rent all 3 places if you wanted to have multiple families.

Relaxing cottage by the stream
We had a wonderful experience. This was a great location for visiting Bryson city. It wasn't too far off the main road, but far enough away to be very peaceful. The cottage was clean and quaint. We really enjoyed staying here.

Quaint and cozy!
We enjoyed our stay in this cabin! The hot tub -and fireplace were perfect on a chilly night! Everything was clean and well-stocked. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch! We had two couples and a 7 year old, and the room arrangements were perfect for our group. It was a little inconvenient to have just one bathroom at times, but we knew that ahead of time. Those with mobility issues should be aware that the only bathroom is on the first floor, and most beds are on the second floor. Not a huge issue for us though. This is is very cute little place, and we would definitely consider staying here again! Thank you!

Weekend Getaway
We had stsyed at this cabin back in May of this year and we loved it so much we booked another short getaway in the fall. It's a quaint little cabin and is in a great location. 20 minutes from Bryson City and close enough to explore other nearby parks and towns.

Overall experience is very favorable. Very serene and peaceful and would stay here again. However the driveway and parking areas need to have some additional packed gravel put in place. Not everyone drives and SUV/pickup these days.

Good location for NOC
This place is not too far from NOC and in a very quiet area. Lots of room inside but it still felt very cozy. Hot tub is nice and there is a huge washer and dryer. The front porch is nice to relax. We did have a problem getting the door open upon arrival…seemed like it stuck due to the rain. We did message Shelby through VRBO, but didn’t get a message back till a few hours later. I couldn’t find a phone number to call in the info that was sent. Fortunately, we were able to get the door open by putting our backs into it. Cell service was sketchy for us in that area, so be sure to download all the arrival information ahead of time.

Cozy
We had a wonderful stay at Firefly Haven! It was really cold the first night due to the record breaking low temperatures, but the next two nights were perfect! The upstairs bedroom was perfect for the kids to hang out. They said it was their favorite part of the whole trip! Our host was helpful and kind and responded quickly. This is the perfect rental for a family of four but could accommodate more. It's only about 20 minutes from Bryson City and would be perfect for those visiting for The Polar Express!

Perfect quiet family getaway
The house is located in a quiet valley, it's even cuter in person than in pictures. No matter where you are outside you hear the constant calming stream of a little brook next to the house and around the property. The hot tub was a wonderful treat after a long day of grueling hikes, and the location to me was perfect. In December there's NOBODY around, even all the roads nearby to get to the house are empty. You are 20 minutes to Bryson City, next door to the Tsali trails, super close to Nantahala National Park and the Smokey mountains and you are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was quiet and serene, and we spent a lot of time on the porch, me on the swing and my husband on the rocking chair, just enjoying nature. We are already talking about going back in the Summer! It had everything we needed which was super convenient. It was nice not having to worry about packing toilet paper and trash bags. Michelle the host was extremely gracious and answered all of our questions super fast. We can't wait to visit again!

Peaceful setting
The little house was spotless and very comfortable. Easy to find and no crazy driveway. It was a little farther out of Bryson City than we had expected but not really an issue as the roads were so good. We did get Wi-Fi but never had cell phone service in the house. Having the land line was good though. We had rain and very cold weather so did spend time outside but in the spring or summer the little brook and fire pit and banked rhodendrons would be lovely. Great space for a family with kids.

Could really use some attention...
The house itself was clean. The towels/washcloths smelled horrible...old and moldy. The shower curtain in the one small bathroom smelled like mold too when it got wet. The sheets on the downstairs bed had pills all over them, definitely old. The mattress slept like it was old too. Had a big hump in the middle. We couldn't get the air conditioner to work even after following the instructions word for word and watching a YouTube video. The upstairs room is fine if you are short and not claustrophobic. The location is pretty good but we got there at night and there are no street lights and the porch light did not work. The listing said the numbers were on the house but we couldn't see them in the pitch black. Definitely not a great stay and we won't be back to this one.

Cute house, clean and quiet
The house was great for our long weekend. It was clean and had everything we needed to be home away from home. The beds were comfy and the big couch was comfy and spacious. The teens loved the upstairs space to get away and do their wi-fi-ing. It was close to the boat dock where we rented a pontoon for the day, close to lake access where we returned to swim on another day. We arrived late and it was dark and we had a hard time finding the parking area, which we found the next morning to be just past the house to the left. Sorry we parked overnight on the side of the roadway (lol). It stormed pretty hard the first night and we lost power but after checking in with Michelle, she advised us that trees were down and was able to give us an estimated restore time from the power company. There were quite a few more cars passing through than we expected, pretty often actually and not especially slow, so we skipped taking our dogs and little to the creek play area. But it was nice to sit on the front porch and listen to the creek and watch the birds and butterflies. The teens used the hot tub once and said it was nice but had a lot of leaves and the bottom was quite sandy. We couldn’t find a net to fish out the leaves so they splashed them out with their hands. We decided to skip our turn. Overall, we had a great stay and would return.

My husband George and I purchased this lovely farm in 2014 to compliment our other vacation rental in the area and to have a place to bring our horses when we come up to visit. I go by Shelby. I love to travel and adventure . I also like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer 'top shelf'. My husband likes to hunt and spend time in the 'man cave'. My husband and I have 9 horses (mostly quarter horses) and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. We are fans of camping. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida and I specialize in St. Augustine which is the oldest city in the US! My husband is an Agricultural Officer. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live near St. Augustine, FL. My husband traveled all over the country before calling St. Augustine home. We love having two homes in the Smokey Mountains in NC and are thrilled that we can share the joy of these special places with our guests!

Why they chose this property

My husband and I used to walk by this farm regulary when we would stay at our other vacation home and say wouldnt that be nice to have someday. And then one day there was a for sale sign in the yard and the rest is history. We love the acreage, So much room, so much privacy, so much beauty! We enjoy the sound of the creek as it slowly meanders through the property and we love to see the wildlife as it appears. We were also very sold on the easy access and the convenience of the location to all the area's ammenities and activities!

What makes this property unique

Super close to NOC, Lake Fontana, Smokey Mountain Railroad. Super easy access on a paved road and gravel road with plenty of room to park vehicles and or a boat. Really quiet and peaceful setting but so close to so many wonderful things to do!
