What a view!
Amazing house, amazing views. Definitely a hike to get to town. Yan was an amazing driver. One downside is the lower bedrooms are a bit damp smelling. Great house for a large group.

A beautiful view
We really enjoyed our time here. Lucy was great to communicate with and the property was really nice. Wifi was pretty spotty, but who cares when you're in paradise. Hope to return someday!

Satisfying
The house was huge and made our large group very comfortable. If you like beige and brown then the color scheme of the house will more than please you. Any problems that came up were immediately handled by Lucy and her charming family, and we can't say enough about how friendly and polite the St. Lucians were to all of us. The house is all by itself near the top of a very high hill which meant walking to and from town was an immense problem for getting groceries or going to the beach...but we had a great driver, Yan who was always available to pick us up. If you are looking for a quiet time, great sunsets and quaint towns then this is the house for you. And if you are looking for great restaurants, luxury shops and busy crowds then this location is not for you. But as a woman said to me while waiting in line for customs when we arrived, "I'm just glad to be here."

Spacious home in a secluded area.
Beautiful home, scenic location with large bedrooms. You will need transportation. It’s easy to arrange a driver if you don’t want to worry about driving which is what we did for our group,of 10 and it worked out really well. The 2 dogs on the property were awesome and sweet. Happy to tag along on a hike up the hill or sit and cuddle. We loved having the 2 pups around. Be forewarned that the water is solar heated so a warm shower is not likely. We probably had 1 warm shower each over the week and it didn’t really seem to matter what time of day you showered. If you’re looking for an excursion, we used Mystic Man in Souffriene for a catamaran tour and deep sea fishing. (About a 45 minute drive from the house). They were terrific. We would highly recommend it and if going back, I would rent again.

A Wonderful Vacation!
Our Christmas stay at the Villa was fantastic for our extended family of 13. Although the 5-story layout is a bit unusual and involves a lot of outside stairs to get from one level to the next (the bedrooms are on 4 different levels) and was a bit tricky when raining, the accommodations were very comfortable and provided privacy for everyone -- as well as plenty of space for family gatherings. Being on the southern end of the island gave us easy access to the many attractions located near Soufriere, as well as an easy drive to Castries and Rodney Bay. It was also great to have the airport and Massey's supermarket nearby. The only negative to the property was the access road in the development itself. It was very rough and made coming and going a bit of a challenge, particularly after a couple of heavy rains. However, the villa, with its beautiful views, including daily rainbows over the valley below the villa, more than made up for the bumpy ride! We all had a great time and would highly recommend La Gampierre to anyone who is wanting a quiet, secluded, and lovely place to stay while enjoying the beautiful island of St. Lucia!

Found, the perfect Vacation
Our stay at La Gampierre was wonderful experience that helped create memories that will last a lifetime. The property is incredible, quite, comfortable with unbelievable views. The master suite (top floor) is something you must see to believe, it far surpassed our expectations. The house had everything you could ask for and so much more. We woke up each morning to the Blue Caribbean sea, we would drink our coffee watching the relaxing view. We toured and explored the island during the day and relaxed by the pool in the evenings. St. Lucia is a dream island with friendly people and incredible sights. One of the high points of the trip was when Lucy (the property manager) and her family took us to a secluded beach and cooked lunch for us. The venture etched memories that will last forever and created a wish to soon return. We traveled to several different beaches but the best was Sugar Beach, we chilled drinking refreshments, enjoyed the unbelievable scenery and snorkeled all day. We had another great day traveling to Marigot Bay and greatly enjoyed the Rum tour. Another day we drove to Castries where we explored the islands' largest city. A couple of days we would relax and catch ray's by the pool. Occasionally at dinner we would hire, though Lucy, some cooks that would come over and prepare dinner. The home itself was quite, comfortable and completely secure. They have 24/7 security just outside. Overall, I cannot imagine a more luxurious place to stay nor a more perfect setting for our most memorable vacation. We would enthusiastically recommend to anyone looking for that special place to create the memories for a life time.

Awesome place! Great time!
We spent 10 amazing days here in St. Lucia. The accommodations were amazing and we could not have had a better stay. Gibbs and Lucy the caretakers were both super helpful and gracious. Lucy met us at the airport with her sweet smile and then passed us along to Gibbs for our ride to La Gampierre. We got a history of the island which was very interesting. Gibbs is a wealth of information! . We had an awesome day out on their boat; they cooked dinner for us one night at the house, and helped make arrangements for various excursions. The security team was great and they were all very nice and friendly. Africa brought us several treats during the week. We really enjoyed the pool, amazing view, and sunsets. We ventured out to the Diamond Botanical Gardens and Waterfall ate at Petit Peaks in Soufriere, we also visited Sugar Beach and several other local beach bars. If you’re interested in diving, go see Chester in Soufriere at Action Adventure Divers. He's fun, nice and the dive was great plus we came home with a huge bag of lion fish for dinner. The people here are so friendly and really seemed concerned about us having good time during our stay. We really hate to leave and cannot wait to visit again. Check out some of the pics of our trip at: freddiebeckwith.com.

Wonderful Villa
The villa is large! We had six people staying for one week and there was plenty of room for all of us. The set up of the house over multiple levels means some stairs are necessary but it also provided privacy between guests rooms when chill time was needed. The upstairs master suite is huge and feels like a luxury hotel. The owner, Mark, was easy to communicate with and was timely in answering any questions. The property managers, Lucy and Gibbs, went out of their way to accomodate us. They met us at the airport, found a local chef to cook for us, and even picked up and delivered live lobsters for a cook out on the last day of lobster season. The house, owner, and Lucy and Gibbs all provided us with a great experience. We will return!

Beautiful house!
This house was made from a team that wantshe to experience the st. Lucia and not worry about messing up. The decor is marine life themed and pretty cool. It rained on my stay there every night and morning so the pool was quite cloudy. Although the layout was a bit award like having a sliding door access to a bathroom and the many many stairs it was still awesome. The bed was comfortable and warm. NB bathroom shower drain clogged up for me so that was very annoying.

This House is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL !!!! Don't Miss Out on The Phenomenal Experience!!! Thanks Mark!
My wife and I were one of 3 couples that stayed in Mark's guest home. The house is by far the most relaxing place you can ever imagine. The views are breathtaking from any room you pick. The location is isolated, which we wanted . The entertainment around the house is more than enough to keep you from wanting to leave. If my wife had it her way, and I wasn't so adventurous, she would have stayed at the house the entire time. Each bedroom is secluded, giving you all the privacy you can ask for. There are two private out door showers in two of the bedrooms which I thought were unique. The bathrooms as a whole are spectacular, including the views. Any room you pick, there is a breath taking view overlooking trees. The common area, indoors or outdoors, is a perfect place to congregate. If you like the outdoors, the open spaced deck on the pool level is large enough for everyone. One of my favorite places was the infinity pool. You can enjoy views from the infinity pool anytime of the day. It gave me a different sense of piece and relaxation when I'd looked out into the ocean and watch the sunset (my fav). The common area level has a grill area and lounge area where you can relax and overlook the infinity pool. Inside the common area level you have a cool pool table, kitchen, two family room areas that will spaciously fit everyone. I was glad internet access was throughout the house, so we could share our experience with the social network. Mark also had endless movie collection to watch on his flat screen TV. Like I said earlier, there is plenty of room and entertainment for everyone. The security guards (including the dogs) would greet you as you approached the house and were willing to help as needed. The dogs, Gumbo and Golden, have so much personality. I think they grew attached to us, because Gumbo was whimpering as we loaded our bags in the van. Mark, what can I say that I haven't said already, lol. Your guest house is by far one of the most spectacular homes I've ever stayed in and I definitely expect to comeback to share my experience with other couples. Your house is a "MUST visit" type of home. Lucy & Gibbs are one of a kind. They accommodated our every need and are genuinely great, and sincere locals that did not mind going above beyond to make sure we were happy. They helped with transportation anywhere we wanted to go and gave us the best pointers (do's & don't) while on the island. Thanks for Everything.

Awesome Home and Host!
The home was amazing and perfect for our party of 5! Lucy and her family met us at the airport with the truck to use for the week and was super helpful from showing us the house, getting us to the grocery store, being on call if we needed anything during the week and most of all her and her family came to the house the last night and cooked us dinner. Super amazing hosts! The house is located on a mountain so be prepared for the long drive up and being in a remote location from the town but beautiful views. Highly recommend this property and experience if you are looking to live with the locals and truly experience St. Lucia if not go to a resort.

Amazing Villa- All the Do's and Dont's
The Villa is beautiful, u can tell right away that no expense was spared when building/designing this place. Plenty of room for the 8 people who were in our group as well as had everything we have at home in Texas that you might not expect in another country (outlets, kitchen supplies). Mark Gamper was very helpful with all the emails & questions we had for him! Now a word to the next renters: 1) You absolutely cannot walk to the beach, it would take you 45 minutes (if you're athletic) going up & down extremely steep hills. Most of the roads are not paved and have huge holes as well as being very steep so it takes anywhere from 30 mins-2 1/2 hours to travel places around the island. We used a driver with a 15 passenger van named Edward: he was AMAZING! He took us everywhere we needed to go & went out of his way to accommodate us and was so sweet & humble. We didn't even try to use taxis because Edward gave us such a great deal- $100 for the day if we went no farther than Laborie/Vieux Fort and $200 for the day anywhere else (and that is ALL day usually for us 9am-9pm depending on how many places we stopped) so on a $200 day it was only $25 a person (with 8 people). Please give him your business if you stay at La Gampierre! We also used an awesome local- Nerville & his son (phone numbers 4 Edward & Nerville are in book @villa)for an all-day catamaran trip(whale/ dolphin watching and 2 stops for snorkeling along with plenty of snacks, a meal, & all the drinks you could want for $125 per person for 7 hours. Locals will try to offer you "a good deal" on excursions & activities & sometimes they were, but out of all the propositions, Nerville was the cheapest, for the most time, on the biggest catamaran (w/bathrooms) and they gave us a history lesson as well! 2) You should know that the Villa is in the middle of nowhere & expect to use stairs ALOT (because it is 5 stories) The villa is built like a castle with a huge cement wall in front to protect from intruders as well as armed guards who have a small post right out front. If you are at/ in the pool, you can see them looking back up at you & one night we saw the guard watching his hand gun glimmer in the moonlight (I did not sleep well the first night) But we did not have any scares & after the first night I felt pretty safe. 3) The people are pretty nice but definitely not the most hospitable country I have been to. 4)The food is a mixture of Indian/Caribbean/Seafood & was quite enjoyable. 2nd half of review>

Amazing Villa- All the Do's and Dont's
So I went down to the truck where the back was full of trash bags & started to dig through it to see if she was telling the truth. It was nowhere to be found, when a guy asked me what I was looking for & when I told him, he said "Oh yea, they put the food in here" & showed me to a closet in the garage where all the food had been taken out of the bag and put on the floor. So just please watch out for "people" being manipulative & trying to take what's not theirs, be it food or fees. 6) The resorts on the island are extremely pricey & the only way I would recommend staying there over this villa is if you are looking to not be secluded & have everything you could want or need within 100 yards walking distance, if you're handicapped or elderly (alot of stairs in villa), or if your idea of staying in St. Lucia was to be right on the beach. Otherwise I DEFINITELY recommend La Gampierre! Overall, we had an amazing trip & would go back in a heartbeat, with a slightly different attitude & perspective of the island. I hope this has been helpful!

Amazing Villa- All the Do's and Dont's
5) Now what I did have a problem with is the proprietor of the property- Lucy Kadoo, who after you book the villa, for the most part you are emailing her with questions about once you arrive. When we arrived, she tried to manipulate us to use her husband as a driver and she was trying to use the currency difference to confuse us when we paid her for the pickup form the airport. We were arguing with her for a while and it totally stressed us out on our first day there. Then, she said she would stop by to check on us periodically to see if we needed anything & to clean the pool. She also said later that day she would bring us a phone which had a "hot spot" so we could access wifi and use the internet for email and researching places to check out while we were there, since there is no wifi at the the house. We didn't see her again until the last day. Our flight left at 3pm so we asked Edward to come pick us up at noon. At 11am, Lucy showed uop with 2 trucks full of people saying they were here to clean & we needed to leave (now Mark Gamper has already apologized for not letting us know check out was at 11 am, so hopefully people will know next time). Luckily we had all packed the night before, so we just took all our things down to the very bottom room which we had not used and hung out in there for an hour so they could clean up because people from Florida were set to arrive at 2pm that same day. Also when Lucy just walked in at 11am, we greeted her and she immediately said "So did Mark tell you about the $200 cleaning fee due right now?" & of course, we said NO, it was nowhere in the contract and this is the first we had heard of it. So she says "Well I will just get it from you before you leave" & then she just sat there and stared at us like we were supposed to fish in our pockets for money. So my husband told her to have Mark Gamper (owner) call us and explain to us about the cleaning fee & if it was just our mistake, we would pay him, not her. And we still to this day have not heard anything about this "cleaning fee". Also, we decided to bag up all the food we had bought (bread, sugar, hot dogs, cereal, chips, cookies etc) but didn't open or eat & give it to Edward & his family instead of letting it go to waste or leave it for the next people. I left it alone for 5 minutes and it was gone. I asked Lucy where it went & she said they threw it away.

Scenic view and amazing home!! The home is perfect for a multiple couple vacation. We were very pleased with our stay. Everyone on staff was very friendly and welcoming. Lucy and Gibbs met us at the airport and showed us to the grocery store. They were helpful in making recommendations for food and places to see! They have security at the home 24 hrs a day! We will definitely keep this location on our list to visit again. The only thing I would recommend is getting wifi at the location.

Wonderful experience.....we will be back
The property was spectacular. The owner was cooperative and helpful. New construction so we recognize that there are a few kinks to be worked out but overall things were wonderful. The location and the view were amazing. No worries about security. Sorry that our stay was only 4 nights but we will be back.

Exceeded our expectations
Just got back from our 5 day visit to La Gampierre. We were a little bit hesitant on renting this property because of location. We were wanting to find somewhere about halfway down the western shoreline to be near all of the places we were wanting to visit. This turned out to be a non-factor. For one, we quickly realized that we weren't going to be able to take in all that we had planned anyway. (One bit of advice: we rented a vehicle, but even though the island is 14 miles wide and 27 miles long, there are some curvy roads with elevation gains, so this made for slow driving! It took us 2 hours to drive from La Gampierre to the Castries marina. plan accordingly!) The house itself was great! Infinity pool, Pool table, ample room to lounge out on the decks or inside in the living areas. The bedrooms are big and comfy, and besides the huge 4 interior bathrooms and showers, there were two outdoor showers as well. The only negatives we could even remotely state was that there wasn't a hairdryer or Wifi. (We should have brought a hairdryer...the Wifi I wish the place had!) They have exercise equipment on the 4th level, so you can enjoy everything from relaxing to exercising and anything in between! We booked this with Mark relatively late, and he was VERY accommodating. He and his local guy Damien (who met us at the place when we arrived, made sure we were taken care of and gave us recommendations to local places. The house looks out onto the southern tip of the island and Laborie Bay, and makes for some excellent sunset opportunities!!! i would highly recommend this place!

Amazing house!
We and our friends stayed at this property for 10 days. The villa is just amazing. It is modern, convenient, beautifully decorated and has all the amenities one needs for a relaxing vacation. Located on 5 different levels, it is very spacious and provides a lot of privacy for parties consisting of more than one family. The views are breathtaking, the outside seating is great. The kids (and adults) really enjoyed the infinity pool, which was kept perfectly clean by the staff. There was security at the house, and a caretaker at all times. Overall the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful with tips, reservations etc. Finally, Mark, the owner, was a pleasure to work with! He was really accommodating and made sure we had a wonderful time at the villa.
