Making memories
House was very spacious, very clean and very well equipped. Generous with every day needs in the kitchen and plenty of towels. You could tell that the house was well loved. As a family it was much needed chill out time. Coniston offered lovely food and appeared friendly in both pubs we went to. Our daughter would have appreciated blinds or curtains in her room which was at the top with balcony and a carpet which was fake grass, it amused us but couldn’t quite make out the theme of the room! Hosts were both friendly and pleasant.

Great stay
We really enjoyed our stay at The White House. The house was very well equipped with high-end appliances. We particularly like the open plan kitchen dining and sitting area. Could do with a mirror and stool in the double bedroom on the middle floor as nowhere to do make up and hair! If you are a light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs, there was very little sound proofing between floors but overall a great stay and would highly recommend The White House.

Excellent accommodation in Coniston
Well equipped house catering for up 12 people of all ages. Very helpful information regarding the property and its facilities were issued in advance. The property was well suited to eating in house with high quality kitchen appliances, china and cutlery. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms immaculate and well equipped. A games room was very helpful when bad weather was curtailing out door activities.

Modern, comfortable property in good location
The property is modern, clean and comfortable with all of the facilities you would expect. it was very spacious for the six of us. We stayed in November, but I'm sure that in summer you could make excellent use of the outdoor space and barbecue. It is within easy reach of the pubs and shops of Coniston, and there are easy and more challenging walking from the property. One point to note, the top floor main bedroom has no curtains (?) and astroturf flooring,

Wonderful property!
We had a wonderful time in this lovely house. Perfect for our party of 10 adults. Everything you need is provided and more! I can't think of anything that could be done to improve this wonderful accommodation. Fantastic fully equipped kitchen. Lovely large dining table comfortably sit all. Comfy lounge and good though smallish decked area out back with a good gas BBQ. Outside furniture also on balcony at rear of property. More rooms downstairs which we didn't really get round to using. Would love to return another day as Coniston is a perfect place to base yourself in the Lakes, with plenty of shops and pubs and easy walking distance to Coniston Lake.

High recommend this house, it is stunning. The pics dont do it justice. Extremely well equipped, with lots of lovely extra touches (washing tablets, wine, Prosecco, sponges, dish washer tablets). We accidently broke a few glasses during our stay and the owners were very understanding. if I’m being very picky the fault I can find is, I would of liked a mirror near a plug socket in the bedroom.

Lovely house, somethings not quite as expected. Honest review.
The house is a lovely luxury house, great for a girls weekend away. The house amenities were great, really good kitchen facilities. Bedrooms and bathrooms all all really lovely. We had a great time, the Crown pub just 1 minutes walk away was excellent. Easy walk to the lake which was beautiful. Great base for exploring the Lakes. The negatives are that the back of the house overlooks a grave yard, the photos give the impression that the house is more remote than it is, it looks on the photos like it stands alone not in a cul de sac of properties. It lists a tennis court in the description as though the property has a tennis court, it just means there is a tennis court that you can hire in the village. I was also adamant that when I booked it said that there was a hot tub however this is no longer mentioned. Although a little disappointed on arrival because we were expecting a tennis court and hot tub, we did have a really lovely weekend and the communication and information received from the property owners pre-arrival was excellent.

Family Birthday celebration weekend
We stayed here as a family of 11 to celebrate Mam's/Grandma's 82nd birthday. What an amazing place! Helen and Barry have really thought of everything. Decor, appliances and equipment, etc all of great quality. It's a very sociable house with there being the large sitting room area kitchen and dining area. We all made great use of the games room and downstairs sitting room in the evenings too. It's also in a great location, being in the centre of Coniston but in a quiet area at the end of a cul-de-sac, so no traffic noise. 3 great pubs too - we just had to try the award winning beers! I really couldn't recommend it enough - we couldn't have asked for better! Thank you!

Absolutely Perfect
Our stay in Coniston was absolutely perfect. The house itself is amazing! It is situated perfectly for many outdoor activities. The house: there were 8 of us altogether and the house accommodated us easily. There were break out areas for when people wanted a little "me" time. The kitchen/facilities absolutely perfect. The house is so spacious we fitted in so easily. The children loved the games room. One other important point ... the details said car parking for 3 cars - the drive way easily catered for 3 cars with plenty of space between each car and space around each car to be able to open door easily and access the car interior and boot. Obviously the owners have done lots of work on the house and it would have been great to see a few photos of before and on the way to what it is today. Outside activities: we were looking for outside activities and we found so much to do within a close radius of the house. Including climbing Old Man Coniston with amazing views from the top. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area .

Great location, great stay although a few niggles!
Perfect location and house is huge so perfect for many different family members. Welcome drinks in the fridge was a lovely touch and communication with the owner was excellent. Huge collection of kitchen utensils and appliances so 6 stars for that! Only gripes were; -Wii console didn't work (missing parts) -Air Hockey doesn't work -Outside decking area still had Doritos left from previous attendees so not cleaned properly -Astro turf room had no curtains so couldn't be slept in so felt this was a waste of payment (room was great so a real shame!) -Kitchen could do with a sound system for the size of room or an Alexa If the above were corrected would be 4.9 out of 5....

Host profile image
We are Mum Dad and four kids that love the outdoor life, all born in England. Coniston has been our second home for a long time. Having camped, caravanned and rented accommodation in the lakes for years we decided to purchase The White House. After a two year renovation completed in Spring 2016 we want others to enjoy the property village and lakes as we do.

No matter whatever is the season the lake district and especially Coniston, is a special place. We love seeing winter snow on the Old Man while sitting in the lounge in front of the log fire with a mug of hot chocolate. Similarly spending long summer days on the balcony drinking homemade lemonade reading a book and sometimes drinking something a little stronger as the children play in the garden. As the day draws to an end, cooking local produce on the barbeque is something we love to do. The stars on a clear warm summer night the rear balcony is not to be missed.

Why they chose this property

The white house is unique in that no properties in the village are able to offer the level of luxury in all areas to accommodate 12 persons in comfort. Although the property is located within village the views are outstanding.

Staying at the White House is similar to staying in a boutique hotel with all the facilities of home. Within two minutes walking distance of all village facilities it's great to park up and not drive.

Walks from the door step, great village amenities and facilities all within 200mts and a luxury property with fantastic views and facilities that all will enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The quality of accommodation, location to amenities and Lakeland village setting make the property extra special for large families and friends who have discerning taste and are looking for accommodation that offers the true wow factor and will exceed their expectations.
