About the host
Hosted by Mr Michael Pavey

Angie, my wife, and are local having grown up in the area. When I retired from my Insurance Broking business in 2004 we came across Aish Cross House - a lovely Regency property with adjoining coach house and stable. As a semi retirement business we converted these 2 buildings into up market holiday cottage accommodation for which we achieved Visit England 5* gold accreditation. 12 years ago we converted the old hay store into another holiday cottage - so we now have The Coach House (sleeps up to 6), The Stable and The Hayloft (both sleep up to 4). Over the years our cottages have won regional awards.
We love our business, and the people we meet - we believe our guests really enjoy the comfort and beautiful surroundings Aish Cross has to offer - testament to this is the number of repeat bookings we receive.
Angie and I, living in the main house, are always on hand to help our guests get the maximum enjoyment from their holiday.
The lovely grounds at Aish Cross divide ideally into 2 gardens - one for the enjoyment of our guests and one for our personal use. - so we are never on top of each other !
Additionally 3 years ago we created 'The Island Rose Garden' - a very pretty secluded garden (with a BBQ Lodge) - we love it - so do our guests.
Over the last 19 years we have made many life long friends and have we look forward to making many more too !
Why they chose this property
We live in an ONB - (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) - From the countryside to the sea shore it's beautiful !
We chose to live in Aish, because it's in the heart of the lovely countryside, but still close to the historic and picturesque town of Totnes (3 miles). The vibrant village of Stoke Gabriel on the banks of the river Dart, is only a mile away, and its a real community hub, with 2 pubs, a bistro, cafe and excellent village shop/post office selling lots of local produce.
We're only 20 minutes away from 'the brighter lights' of Torbay (Torquay, Paignton and Brixham) and if we want to a visit to Dartmoor, Dartmouth, Salcombe or the beautiful beaches of the South Hams - its an easy drive.
All in all, we've got the best of all worlds -we live in a lovely community, with beautiful surroundings but close to all the amenities we need - we just love it where we are !
What makes this property unique
We believe we stand out as a the ideal self catering holiday destination because :-
1 We offer lovely accommodation - full of character (VE 5* Gold)
2 Our cottages are particularly well equipped.
3 Aish Cross is an imposing building set in beautiful gardens
4 The surrounding countryside is very pretty
5 Our "USP" is our lovely location - close to everything and all the attractions South Devon has to offer
