A Week at Vomero
The property is tastefully split into self contained units that are very well equipped for a self catering stay. The grounds are immaculate and there is a great choice of outside seating. The walk up from town is a bit of a challenge, but what else can you expect in Devon! We would not hesitate to book for a return visit.

Week of sailing in torbay
Could not have been more helpful and nice. Gave us a place to hang up our wet sailing kit, definitely would stay there again. It's even better than the pictures.

Disappointed!
Nice property outwardly, inside was old i.e.furnishings, no proper bathroom,a small sink in the bedroom and a decrepit toilet in the in the Tiny shower room.Obviously no room for the Sink in there. It should be also noted that in no way is the House suitable for Elderly people because of the EXTREME steepness of the surrounding area. You really need to rely on your car to get out and about because of steepness of the walk into Town.

Very welcoming, really nice apartments kept in really good condition
Really enjoyed our stay here the only downside is that it's on a steep hill and walking up and down it all week is tough but that's only a minor issue ..the apartment itself was lovely downside was the small bathroom squeezed into it!! we had a really nice welcoming and great service throughout when needed it would recommend it to others !

Lovely well maintained property.
The property is an imposing building that has been tastefully converted into holiday apartments. The property and gardens are very well maintained. Greeted on arrival by John the owner who was keen to show us round the property which he appears very proud of (and rightly so ) Our apartment was very clean and tastefully decorated. Lots of nice touches in room and you could tell the owners had put a lot of thought into the extras both in the room and available to borrow around the property . They have even provided picnic baskets and fold away chairs you can borrow if you want to go for a picnic around this lovely area of the country. The apartment was nice size for 2 people for the week we were there. Only slight grumble was the size of the bathroom but understand the difficulty in converting a property like this and keeping all the features is going to mean compromises and it didn't detract from our stay in any way. Apartments are at the top of a steep hill. It is a nice stroll down to Torquay harbour (about 15 mins walk ) .Coming back up can be hard but a taxi only costs £5 from harbour. I would definitely recommend staying at these apartments as they are very good value for money and cater for both adults and children

Studieren mal anders

Welcome to Vomero, our home and family holiday business

We are very fortunate to have lived at this beautiful Italian style Victorian villa, full of rich history and abundant character since November 2019

Sean, Louise & family

Why they chose this property

Six beautiful and unique self-catering holiday apartments in a Grade II listed building built in 1838. Found in the heart of the English Riviera and nestled within the hills of Torquay, Vomero is quiet and secluded yet within walking distance of the bustling bay with its shops, bars and restaurants

What makes this property unique

The English Riviera is the birth place of Agatha Christie and many of her novels are based around Torbay.
Vomero was once the home of Isambard Kingdom Brunel back in 1848 and we have a blue plaque at our entrance.
Quiet & secluded location nestled in the hills of Torquay, with fabulous sea views from our upstairs apartments with private balconies.
An acre of beautiful award winning gardens, downstairs Venezia has a private terrace and direct garden access
Vomero is within a ten minute walk of the sea, town, restaurants and theatre.
The Torquay Princess Theatre has amazing shows on year round, west end shows, musicals & music events! Other local theatres in Paignton and Babbacombe.
So many fabulous restaurants and bars, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
Local restaurants offer many seafood delights as Brixham fishing village is part of Torbay and just a ferry trip across the bay.
Jump on the ferry or bus to Brixham, Paignton or Dartmouth and leave the car behind.
