Located at the foot of the McGillycuddy Reeks ,Ireland's highest mountain & on the doorstep of Killarney National Park a stay at this excellently situated and well equipped cottage will make your holiday an awesome experience. Absorb the breathtaking views, the wonderful colours of the landscape, the peaceful and tranquil beauty of the countryside, the silence and calm of pure nature! Enjoy quiet walks with magic at every turn in the lanes and on the Kerry Way developed walking trails.Set in a working farm you will find the the cows good company showing their inquisitiveness as they interrupt their grazing to check you out. The people you meet will show you warmth and hospitality and in the words of someone who had the privilage to experience all of this '' time just slipped away''.
Feirm is originally a farm cottage recently updated to present day standards. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, 1 double 1 twin, a shower and toilet, downstairs a twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom to include a low level shower, sitting room with a wood/peat burning stove, kitchen cum dining room. It is suitable for a person with limited mobility or a wheelchair user. Facilities include T.V.,DVD, Radio/CD player, hair dryer,washing machine, tumble drier, the kitchen is fully equipped to include microwave, freezer and dishwasher.Linen and towels are supplied free of charge.Cot and high chair available on request.
Pets are welcome but we do request that guests must bring their own pet bed & pets are not allowed in the bedrooms.
Free WiFi.
Electricity & oil used for heating are an extra charge ( usual average 30/60 Euro per week depending on the time of year) & are meter read at the end of the stay.

A bit mixed.

Mostly comfortable. A bit cold. Not sure if 6 people would be comfortable. Paying for electric at the end is unusual. Remote and very rural. Beautiful surroundings. One of the showers is really good. Kitchen is mostly well equipped. Not sure if i would stay there again. Local bar is really friendly. Good for local touring.

Haus in den Bergen

Bernadette ist eine sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Dame. Es handelt sich um ein kleines, gemütliches Haus in einer sensationellen Lage Mitten im Nationalpark. Nach Kenmare benötigt man über die kleinen Straßen 25 Minuten. Der Blick von der Terrasse ist atemberaubend. Bei Buchung muss man nur wissen das es abseits liegt - ein Pubbesuch mal eben ist nicht möglich, das muss man planen. Das ganze Objekt ist sehr sauber und besitzt alles was ein Haus haben muss. Das obere Badezimmer ist etwas klein, aber auch daran gewöhnt man sich schnell. Schönster und größter Raum ist die moderne Küche mit dem Essbereich. Das Wohnzimmer ist eher klein, besitzt aber auch alles was man benötigt. Mit 5 Erwachsenen war es uns keinesfalls zu eng. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt- das Haus liegt sehr gut für Ausflüge: Wandern im Nationalpark, Ring of Kerry, Kilarney, Mizen Head und selbst Cork ist erreichbar. Für uns war es eine unvergessliche Woche- jederzeit wieder.

Super Aufenthalt

Alles im allem war es ein super Aufenthalt. Selbst das wir 2std zu spät ankamen war kein Problem. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und im Haus ist alles was man braucht. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und eigentlich immer erreichbar.

Etwas abgelegen aber doch greignet um Tagesausflüge zu machen. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Sauberkeit in der Küche lässt zu wünschen übrig. Bequeme Stühle oder Liegestühle für draussen fehlen.

quiétude au rendez vous

Nous avons séjourné une semaine dans cette maison de ferme renovée. Nous nous y sommes beaucoup plus. wifi un peu faible mais les propriétaires n'y peuvent rien. C'est comme ça un peu partout en Irlande : on ne peut pas être à la campagne et avoir les services des grandes villes. Joséphine nous a indiqué les sites à ne pas manquer (elle avait raison). Nous avons eu des problèmes d'eau chaude qui ont été réglés au plus vite... Merci à Joséphine et à son mari.

Excellent séjour

Gîte très bien équipé et confortable. Situé en pleine nature assez loin de toute ville, mais assez central pour visiter le Kerry (Parc national de Killarney et diverses péninsules). Les paysages sont magnifiques même à proximité du gîte.

A very nice house in a beautiful, rough and quit area.

The house did meet our expectations of a nice house in a beautiful, rough and quit area. A good starting point for a hike. Nevertheless the city of Kenmare and the Ring of Kerry are only half an hour away (by car). The very kind Mrs. O'Neill gave us the very good advise to visit the Island of Valentia, away from the 'official' route of the Ring. It was really beautiful.

Idyllic cottage, gorgeous location

This cottage was absolutely lovely. The location is absolutely gorgeous, and the drive to and from the cottage every day was wonderful. The cottage itself was very clean and cute. We were out exploring most of the days we stayed there, but returning to the cottage every night felt so relaxing and cozy. It was our favorite part of the trip! Lots to do nearby--killarney national park, horseback riding, pubs and shops in kenmare....would highly recommend! Josephine was a great hostess--easy to communicate with and stopped by the cottage to greet us.

lovely property, with a lovely host

Lovely isolated cottage which has been updated to a high standard. The host is charming and the location is very very quiet, all you can hear are the birds, even the nearby cows do not moo loudly, ideal for a relaxing stay.

ein komfortables Haus in ruhiger Umgebung.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist komfortabel eingerichtet, die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Haus liegt sehr zentral und man kann von dort aus den Norden und den Süden der Halbinsel erkunden.

Beautiful setting, relaxing retreat

Great location, adorable house

We only stayed for two nights, but the house was very clean. Even though you have to pay extra for Oil and Electricity it was only about 12 euro, so with the lower costs of renting I found this very fair. It was in a great location close to Sneem and to Kelmare. If we come back to the Ring of Kerry area I would book here again. Thank you again for having us. :)

Spacious clean cottage in idyllic setting.

The cottage is completely on its own in a mountainous landscape, (except for one or two isolated cottages dotted about). It's perfectly situated to explore the Kerry coast and mountains- don't miss the Ballagbeama Gap. There isn't a garden but a gravel surround which you could kick a ball in or sit outside admiring the view. Owner very helpful and responded quickly when the immersion heater broke down. Probably our favourite cottage ever!

Lovely Cosy Quiet Cottage in a Beautiful part of the World

The cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen/utility room and a snug so there was plenty of room for just the two of us. A lot of information about the area was available in the cottage when we arrived. The owner Josephine visited us after we arrived to explain things and to suggest places to eat and visit while we were there. This was great. The kitchen had everything needed to cook meals which was good as the nearest town was around twenty minutes away. Beds were a little hard for us and could have been better. We used this place as a base to visit surrounding areas which worked perfectly for us.

Lovely rural cottage, ideal for families and those who enjoy the countryside.

We stayed at Feirm Cottage for a week and had a very plesant stay. Josephine is a lovely lady whom welcomes you to her property then leaves you to enjoy the peaceful countryside. The cottage is set in a rural location and set on a farm. It is a half hour or so drive from Kenmare. If you enjoy being away from it all and the beauriful countryside this place is for you. We were a family of six whom found the cottage to be comfortable and relaxing and child friendly. It has all the amenities one needs. It would have been ideal to have a grass garden / play area for the children to play in after a long days drive however there are plenty of walkways in the area. Listening to the birds chirping and cows going about the land is a treat. There are many tourist attractions within an hours drive and the scenery of the peninsulas is breathtaking. A must.

Mooie cottage in de bergen.

Prachtige cottage. Gelegen tussen de bergen. Uitgebreide keuken met ruime slaapkamers en twee badkamers. Zeer gezellige zitkamer. Josephine was een hele vriendelijke mevrouw die ons verschillende tips heeft gegeven over de omgeving. Zeer aan te raden voor een vakantie in Kerry.
