About this property

H4 Ranch is located 5 minutes from downtown on a pastoral hillside overlooking the equestrian estates below. We raise cattle nearby, and have a horse and chickens. Don't be surprised if you find a dozen farm fresh eggs in your fridge upon arrival. Our ranch is neat and tidy, well manicured and almost free of your typical farm smells! After parking your car, you walk down the stairs, passing your personal BBQ to the left, and your eyes instantly focus on the hot tub, nestled under a timber frame pergola. There is no nicer way to enjoy the view than a soak in the tub in the morning or under the stars. You won't find more peace and solitude anywhere. A short distance away is a customized firepit, fully equipped with seating and firewood. When you walk through your private entrance, you enter the great room, which includes a full kitchen, dining room, and living room with a beautiful fireplace, and 55 inch flatscreen. There are large picture windows throughout to optimize the views.To the left, you walk into the larger suite, which has a queen bed. The fully private bathroom is custom tiled in limestone, with soaker tub and custom shower. This suite also has full laundry, 42inch flatscreen, cable and Wifi. To the right side of great room you will find the other suite with a queen size bed. It is slightly smaller, but has some awesome features. It has a sitting area with another 42inch flatscreen, cable and wifi, large picture window, and a beautiful ensuite bathroom. It is tiled in quartzite, with a custom walk in shower with a bench seat, rainfall shower and wand.

A Little Piece of Heaven

I wish I could give more than 5 Stars. From Kathy greeting us, to the beautiful suite, to the Amazing view. The suite has everything and more. My 83 yr old mom said it was the best sleep she has had in months! Thank you for everything! We will be back!

Cows, Chickens and Tequila

OK, Tequila is actually a horse - and a very friendly girl at that! My wife and I spent nine nights at the H4 Ranch, Vernon BC with our daughter and two grandchildren, Nathan 8 and Katelyn 6. The property is very peaceful with valley views from your picture windows and the hot tub. The kids were absolutely in love with the animals and would often run out to check and feed them (partial bales of hay were left out for this purpose). Its a very safe environment, and we felt no issues at all letting them out to run around and enjoy the farm experience by themselves. We have rented through VRBO often the past 15 years or so, and have found various hosts for the most part to be excellent. The hosts at H4, Dennis and Kathy were no different, being very friendly and accommodating, both to us adults and the children (they loved Kathy catching them a chicken to pet)! The unit itself is in the basement of the house. The ceilings are not low, and the two bedrooms are separated by the kitchen/living room giving nice privacy. If you like to sleep late, there might be a small issue if the sound of people walking on the main floor disturbs you. If you are a large family like ours who wants to cook most of their own meals, the lack of counter space and only a tiny "bar" sink in the kichen area can be a little awkward. Otherwise, its a beautiful well kept property. Access to all things Vernon is quick and easy. Most importantly, are the folks you are living with. They really are warm and inviting. ......oh, did I mention the bathrooms? Truly spectacular - I wish I had one as nice at home!!

A wonderful getaway

We stayed here with my daughter's family. Dennis went outt of his way to make our stay enjoyable. They welcomed our grandchildren and listened to their stories. The view is beautiful. The location is handy for all of our planned activities. We would love to stay here again.

Family gathering

We came up to have a socially distanced family visit which was made possible by the layout & location . Lots to do outdoors ( hottub & firepit & games ) & a lovely walking trail behind the property with beautiful views across a stunning pastoral landscape The accommodation had great light & lots of fresh air , made it a perfect venue .to visit together . Freshly laid eggs were an added bonus

Amazing stay

We came for some biking in Vernon and it was a perfect distance from trails and the city. The place was affordable and had lots of things to do when we decided to stay at the house. The owner was super nice and takes really good care of the place. Would so recommend staying here if you are looking for a great vacation with friends and family.

Just. Wow.

So much space! And the view is to DIE for! We booked this VRBO last minute and definitely were blessed to have had the opportunity to stay here. Dennis was able to accommodate our super late check in and helped us find a nice winery to attend! We even got to say hi to the lovely animals on the property (Our favourite was Tequila, the horse) which just added so much charm to the visit (and absolutely NO smell. Shocking, I know) If you’re looking for a quiet, tranquil place to rest comfortably this place is for you!

Such a peaceful place!

We chose to stay at H4 ranch on our ski tour of British Columbia and were very pleased. Located just a short drive from town, it felt like we were way out in the country. It was perfect for us with separate suites for each couple. Loved having a hot tub to enjoy under the stars and early in the morning. Fresh eggs were an added touch. Dennis was very good to work with and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again.

This is definitely our to go place to stay when in Vernon. Summer or winter it’s an awesome place. Wake up to a view of the valley below, cows in the field and chickens that provide fresh eggs and end the day with quail wandering in front of you. A perfect way to end the day

Wonderful spot and warm welcome

Everything was as illustrated in the listing. Cathy and Dennis were very welcoming, our kids loved visiting the hens and cows, and we enjoyed the view and the hot tub. An excellent spot to explore the Okanagan. And a short walk to a local cidery!

Exceptional!!

What a wonderful oasis. My sister and I were in Vernon to visit her daughter and my niece and we could not have found a better accommodation. Peaceful, beautiful, incredibly clean, wonderful hosts , we could not have asked for more. My sister was charmed by the farm animals and I was captivated by the view!! There were so many activities available to keep us entertained and the suite was very well appointed. The home is only minutes away from downtown Vernon, Starbucks!!!! Thank you to our very gracious hosts.

A relaxing home away from home

My husband and I, along with our two young children and my parents shared this sweet while in Vernon for a wedding. It is beautifully located on a hillside with stunning views. The suite is spacious, clean and has everything you need. Hosts were very welcoming. The only downfall was that because it's a walkout basement, you can sometimes hear people walking and the dog barking above you. This was a minor issue for us (very close to 5 stars). We would happily stay there if we're ever in the area again. It was MUCH more comfortable for a family than a hotel.

Wonderful!

What a truly wonderful place - a peaceful, scenic property with well equipped, spacious, comfortable, up to date lodgings - and great hosts! It is even nicer than the pictures show! Lots of space to relax inside and outside. We have stayed at about 20 vacation rentals in Canada, America and Europe and this is one of the best for amenities and value.

THE Place to Stay in Vernon - Gorgeous relaxing rental

I just spent a fabulous family wedding weekend in Vernon and had to find a place to stay with my family of four and my sister. We rented the 2 bedroom suite which was roomy, clean, convenient and we had access to the most fabulous yard with games for the kids, a hot tub and firepit, outdoor furniture and a breathtaking view of beautiful Vernon. Dan and Heather were hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed including privacy (and farm fresh eggs!). It truly was a relaxing alternative to busy hotels and although we were only there for 2 days we really felt like we had a location. Highly recommend this location in Vernon!!

Amazing Family getaway!

Family of 6 (including 3 little kids and 1 teen) were welcomed as if we were just coming to our own cottage. The home is amazing! So relaxing, the views are breath taking and there was no stress of feeling like we were staying at someone else's home. We were beyond happy and will certainly be back!

We share the farm with my parents Henry & Cathy, who live on the farm as well. We all work together to make this business venture function well.
