We just loved our stay in the adorable ‘The Cwtch’ studio apartment. We were made to feel so welcome by Robert who greeted us very warmly and had lots of good suggestions for things to do. We had a bit of rain during our stay - which meant we got to spend plenty of time relaxing by the wood fire. Don’t less the size fool you - the apartment is very well designed and is very comfortable with everything we could have wanted for our stay. It was very clean and only a short walk from the train station to get into Cardiff (or buses right out front in either direction) however Taffs Well is so pretty you might want to stay put! We loved it and hope to be back some time. Thank you for having us. Jodie & Eddie.
Whar fabulous place to stay. Small but with everything you would need for a short break. Excellent information pack left for us and we arrived to a lovely log fire and a loaf of Welsh barabrith. Robert the host was super helpful and friendly.
Great little cosy place and warm as toast. Lovely surrounding area with great connections to nearby towns.
Top marks, will use again if ever in the area
A wonderful getaway where I could indulge the creative side of my brain with my writing in a calm and peaceful atmosphere, with some wonderful walks to stimulate the senses. Very happy with my stay here, would heartily recommend.
Me and my partner stayed here for the night after a concert in Cardiff. Travel to Cardiff was easy and quick with the station only 10 min walk away.
Property was just what we needed and Robert was great.
Prefect little getaway. We arrived to a clean and tidy property and the fire had been lit, making it feel cosy and homely immediately. It’s close enough to big towns, but far enough away to enjoy the countryside. Cannot fault the property. We were a bit dubious about the bed, but it was in fact one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. Although situated by a railway line and what appeared to be the main road through the village, it was very quiet and we were not disturbed by noise. Would highly recommend :)
It’s a nice little place near the Brecon Beacons and waterfall walk. Castle coch and thermal springs are very near. There’s a good co op a couple of minutes away for all your needs. Great place.
Ideal for a base only. Very small/compact and basic.
This place is extremely small and basic. It sits at the back of owners property. It has a small seating area outside. No views. Railway line one side of property and main road the other so can hear some noise. We found the toilet hard to sit on where it is so tucked in the corner so had to be at an angle to get on it. The bathroom floor was sticky under our feet and the pots and pans weren’t clean. Dried food on them 🤨 so washed everything before use. The place could do with a broom or dustpan and brush so can tidy up after yourselves as in such a small space it can get dirty easily. Especially as we had a dog. No toilet roll provided and tea light candles burnt down to nothing. Little things I feel could have been replaced for next person staying. There was also coffee in a jar but no sugar or tea. Those jars were empty. The place also had an unpleasant smell. Not sure what it was? For what it was it was expensive to stay here. Not our cup of tea ☕️
This small property was ideal for our stay. It was finished to a high standard, very clean and it has a log burner.
Robert was a fantastic host and had the room ready with the fire burning for our arrival, and he even offered to do it again the next day (knowing we were going to be out all day).
He gave us a bit of local knowledge, such as taxi fares, pubs and eating places. We couldn't have asked for anymore from our stay.
Thank you Robert!
For the first time ever, this property was exactly as it was shown and described. It’s a well hidden little gem and I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone for a short or long stay.
My girlfriend and I had a fabulous few days in this cosy cabin in Taffs Well. Everything we needed was sorted to Robert as soon as we needed it, checking in and out was a breeze and with so much to see and do around the area we would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a mini break to somewhere peaceful. Will definitely be coming back to The Cwtch!

We arrived in Taffs Well and tried to find the property but my cars satnav sent us to the wrong location using the given post code. May be easier for future bookers to state that the driveway to the property is the 1st right turning after the ex servicemen's club/burger wagon in the village.
Using this location to travel in to Cardiff on the weekend for the rugby international it was ideal and the local trains run every 15 minutes and it is only a short 20 minute journey into the city centre.
Overall we both enjoyed our stay at the property, although small in size it did have everything that we needed for a weekend away and it was a nice touch to have a plate full of Welsh cakes provided by the owner of our arrival. The location in the village is excellent with the Fagin's pub being only 2 minutes walk away and all local amenities like co-op and railway station are only 10-15 mins walk from the property location. There is also an excellent Indian restaurant at the top end of the village which is highly recommended and we enjoyed a lovely meal there as well.
I would definitely recommend this property for anyone who doesn't want to pay over the odds for a stay in the capital when sporting events are being staged at the same time as all rooms in the city centre can be highly inflated in price.
A lovely wee place to stay. Spotless clean and well equipped. Good wee pub serving food next door.
Found this property once I snagged some tickets for the Wales v Ireland game. The place is comfortable, spotless clean, and well equipped. Robert is friendly and informative and even had the stove going for when we got back from Cardiff soaking wet. There's a good wee pub next door that serves a great selection of beers and a good bar food menu. Had great banter with friendly staff and customers so it was a real home from home experience. No probs with access to town and back. I don't want to praise the place too much more as I'll be wanting it again myself for next time. Thanks Robert and everyone else we met. Congratulations on your Slam 😀

Great little place. Amazed at what was packed into such a small space
Fantastic get away. Owners are really friendly and full of helpful advice and suggestions. Felt very welcome and left to our own devices.
The property backs onto a railway, but that was barely noticeable. Very easy access to Cardiff via train.
The log burner was a nice touch and made the whole experience that much more cozy.
