About this property

Paradise in the Lake District.

• ‘Loughrigg’ An outside staircase leads to Flat 11 on the left. It is our 'Much-loved family bolt-hole' which we hope you will find to be a home from home.
Parking is allocated to specific bays, ours is 11 in the main carpark, 20 metres up the road and in the far left corner. You may unload in the space next to the yew tree but please do not leave your car there for any length of time. The bays are small and modern cars are often large so please be mindful of others.
• The entrance hall leads to an open-plan Living area with a picture window overlooking private grounds.
• The Living area has 2 comfy sofas, a Smart TV for Netflix, YouTube,
BBC iPlayer etc. There is a DVD player and a small selection of DVD's and books, Guidebooks and OS walking maps. There is a box of children’s games.
• Private Balcony with a table and 2 chairs which you can access from the living room or master bedroom. 2 folding chairs are also available.
• Free unlimited Wifi.
• The Kitchen area is fully fitted with kettle, toaster, fridge, small freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is an electric oven with induction hob and a microwave. A food processor and cooking equipment is stored in cupboards. The round dining table has 4 matching chairs.
• The master bedroom has a king size bed, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets. A patio door leads to the Balcony.
• The second bedroom has twin beds. It also has a wardrobe and chest of drawers.
• The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath, washbasin and WC and a heated towel rail.
• Wall heaters are fitted in all rooms but the Night Storage heaters in the Hall and Living area will keep you warm.
• The leisure Centre has a small swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna, open from March to second weekend in November. Also available are washing machines, tumble driers, and a table tennis table.

Absolutely beautiful location. Comfortable accommodation. Only complaint was the stairs are very slippery when wet. Otherwise can't fault the place.

Amazing Lakes Experience
Great location to experience the Lake District. Walks from the front door or only a short drive away providing views and immersion into all the Lakes has to offer. A lovely location to stay in that was quiet, well appointed and perfect for what we needed. Could stroll to a pub for dinner (good choices and quality), were removed from the towns so got the getaway needed however it was easy to get to all services and locations needed for activities, food, supplies etc. Feel lucky we got to use this space to enjoy this beautiful part of the world. Thank you

Lovely stay in the Lakes
We had a great stay! Very cosy apartment,like being in a tree house with a very pretty outlook. Well stocked kitchen which was much appreciated, comfy beds too. Good space for our family of 4. Fab location, 5 mins to Ambleside and similar to Grasmere. Great walks close by. Kids toys and books were appreciated. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again.

Great base to explore from
Great apartment equipped with everything you need. Clean and easy to contact host. Good location to explore the lakes district. The pool has a mechanical failure when we were there which was disappointing but lovely weather made it easy to have lots to do elsewhere. Would stay again if we were ever to return to the area.

A little piece of Lake District paradise
The apartment has everything one can ask for when staying away from home. We were able to cook simple dinners, have nice breakfasts, do our washing, sit on the balcony and relax, and walk around a lovely estate and onwards around a lake and circuit walk. We were located just a few minutes drive from Ambleside and other Lake District locations which visitors to the area want to see. I would definitely stay here again. Paul and Sue are very attentive in responding to questions we had prior to our arrival and keeping in touch throughout and after our stay. A very positive 5/5 from us. Thank you.

Way up in the Trees!
We absolutely loved our stay at Neaum Crag. We arrived up the windy road to find an apartment way up in the trees. A balcony window opened to let in the fresh lakes air. Conveniently close to Beatrix Potter’s house at Hill Top, and amazing lakeside walks.

Golden oldy lady walkers
A group of walking friends who really enjoyed a fabulous stay at this clean, comfortable, warm and very well equipped apartment. Lovely peaceful location with great views from the lounge and bedroom/balcony. Struggled a little to find the road up to it on first arrival, was fine thereafter. Made use of the pool/jacuzzi & sauna facilities too, which although small, certainly helped ease the muscles after a days walking. Recommend a stay here.

Overall lovely stay, with great weather. Communication and check in great. Property a little dated and tired but we were expecting that from the listing pictures. 4/5 for cleanliness purely as dirty baking trays in oven on arrival, otherwise no issues. Nice break after a long winter
A very well-appointed, cosy and comfortable apartment. The kitchen is very well-equipped and has everything you could need. Only problem was that we couldn't get the TV to work - but that must have been our inability!The Neaum Crag estate is quiet and pleasant and it was easy to walk our dog first thing in the morning. It is also well-situated for many good Lakeland walks. The Wainwright Arms at Chapel Stile is within easy reach and is a very friendly and welcoming pub.

Exceptional, homely accommodation situated in a beautiful location with access to a swimming pool and sauna too. We were very fortunate to come across the apartment. Within 10 minutes walk from the Talbot Inn and 3 mile drive from Ambleside there are also some enjoyable nearby walks too.

Location and Facilities
Apartment located in lovely location and pleasant pool facilities on site, site nice and quiet too. Apartment ok but quite dated and in need of redecoration, new curtains etc. Cleaning was ok but kitchen cupboards and lounge could have been cleaner behind TV by patio doors was filthy as was the skirtings in kitchen. There were so many pots etc in the kitchen cupboards there was no where to put any food and a couple smelt a bit off. We also had an issue with the heating which wasn't available when we arrived and we did need it as the property was cold and we were travelling with elderly parents. As it was storage heaters we couldn't control them apart from the lounge so ended up putting fan heater on in bathroom and leaving door open which wasn't ideal. The storage heaters then kicked in after 36 hours but weren't very controllable. Weather wasn't too bad for our stay so we were able to get out and about and the apartment was in a good location.

This was a very comfortable and well equipped apartment in a great location. The owners communicated in a helpful and friendly way. With a little redecoration and upgrade of the shower it would be 5 stars.

Lovely clean, cosy property in an excellent location. Site was quieter than on previous visits which allowed us to get time in the small pool. Accommodation had everything needed (except a pan suitable for making pancakes!); dishwasher and small washing machine a bonus. Communication with the owners smooth and cordial. Check-in easy. Beware of the steps up to the front door - they can be slippery in wet weather.

Great flat & location
The flat is in the perfect location for exploring the area. Very easy check in and the in-door pool was perfect for the kids. Perfect size for our family with two kids under 2. The local walk up hill has great views.

A cosy flat in a great location
This flat is well situated for walking, with no need for a car to get to great walks. The host left very good instructions, the flat is warm and clean and has everything you need for enjoying a rest after a long walk! It has good views of trees, with some mountain peeping through. It is peaceful and quiet.

Very clean and well equipped Fantastic location and walks from the front door Check in was simple and great to have use of the pool Balcony was beautiful Peaceful site Photos on VRBO don't do it justice - it's more spacious in real life! Will 100% be back. One of our children cried that we had to go home!

We are a retired couple who enjoy walking in the Lake District. Whilst we are not lucky enough to live in the Lake District, our cleaner lives in Ambleside and has looked after a number of the flats in the complex for many years.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with both the flat, the estate and the surrounding hills. You really can leave the car in the car park and just walk for hours from the estate in any direction. And for children, the Leisure building is a great way to burn off energy in the pool or playing table tennis.
