Peaceful stay in beautiful countryside
Glenfruin Lodge was extremely clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and luxurious. We found the TV confusing to use but had brought some DVD's so we watched those. Our hosts introduced themselves to us and were friendly and helpful, giving us ideas of places to go. We love this area anyway and it is very easy to get to Loch Lomond from the house. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Brilliant first trip to Scotland
The cottage at cross keys was ideal for our first trip! The location was exactly what we were looking for. I am generally a cold person and feel the cold really quickly. Not once was I cold in the cottage. The hosts were wonderful and friendly. It was everything we could have hoped for. It wa clean and tidy. It was airy and light but felt really homely! We lived every second and will be looking to book again soon!

Wunderschöne Lodge in bezaubernder Gegend

Everything was excellent
Everything about the property was excellent, clean & tidy, well stocked with cooking equipment, lovely decor, nice & quiet, great location & the hosts were a delight, when I bumped in to them, other than that I had my privacy. Can’t recommend it enough.

Lovely property ideally located, friendly helpful owners. Lochs Lomond, Fyne, Long, Katrine, the Firth of Clyde, stunning glens and beautiful surrounding area easily accessible by road. Loads of different birds in cottage grounds and red squirrels further afield , superb.

Escapism
Loved our weekend away albeit during storm Dennis but didnt deter from the relaxation and cosiness of this lovely cottage. Everything catered for with a wee bit of luxury thrown in down to the luxury whirlpool bath and super kingsize bed....added to that the woodburning stove added to the warmth and ambience. Special place.

Lovely stay at a gorgeous cottage.
We had a lovely time in this spacious but cosy cottage. The rooms are all finished to a high standard, plenty of useful dishes, pots and pans and things in the kitchen and a fabulous, deep claw-footed bath. Unfortunately the weather was completely atrocious when we were there but the underfloor heating and amazing wood and coal fire meant we were never cold. The only thing missing is a wee pub or cafe nearby so you wouldn't t have to get in the car to go anywhere every time But then, that's not the fault of Alison and Craig! We only met Alison but she was so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Would highly recommend. We will be back....but in the summer!

Perfect Stay!
We stayed at Glenfruin Lodge for 4 nights. The property was clean and both Craig and Alison were very helpful before arrival and while we were staying in their property. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen covered all of our needs comfortably. It's about 5 miles from a good sized Waitrose and also close to the shores of Loch Lomond. The location was perfect for us and we would certainly stay here again if we were back in the area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A comfortable and ideal base
Fruin Lodge is ideally placed for exploring this area of Scotland with easy road access to amenities, places of interest and idyllic walks. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well equipped. When we mentioned to Alison that the light level in the living area was a little low for reading or jigsawing in more than one area of the room at the same time she quickly found an extra lamp which made all the difference to our evenings' activities.

Helensburgh cottage
We have had a lovely stay here. Super location, clean comfy cottage with a wonderful garden and we were lucky enough to have excellent weather for most of it so could eat outdoors and take advantage of the gorgeous countryside. The children loved it too. Plenty to do and good places to eat nearby. Thank you!

Love this cottage
The location was perfect for exploring the area! We also were able to take the train from Helensburgh to Edinburgh and Dumbarton castle. The countryside has the most beautiful vistas. The cottage was cozy and was well equipped. We definitely would stay here again. Our hosts were kind and always ready to provide assistance. We loved our stay in this beautiful area of Scotland.

Exploring Loch Lomond and The Trossachs from Glen Fruin Lodge as a base,
The cottage was in a perfect location to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Helensburgh. We climbed Ben A'an and Conic Hill and were rewarded with a lovely view of Loch Katrine and Loch Lomond respectively. A road trip up Loch Lomond stopping at Loss, Inveruglas and the Falls of Falloch and a visit to Glasgow (Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, The Tenement) were just some of the trips we made. Craig and Alison were very welcoming all adding to a perfect holiday.

Home from home
This was a retreat for both of us ladies who have been through heartache one recently divorced and one recently separated. A retreat is what we needed, headspace, fresh air to clear our heads from the grind. Thanks to this beautiful cottage we had exactly that.

Very peaceful, lovely space, wonderful hospitality
My daughter is ASD with extreme anxiety so I was looking for a very quiet space to take her for a few days just to give her (& I) a small break. The cottage was clean, bright, spacious, tastefully decorated & well located for us (I don't drive). Close to bus stop & about a tenner in taxi to get into Helensburgh. Walking distance if I chose & no people in sight which was vital for her needs. WiFi was good (super important for our situation) & if she had wanted them, games were available (ps2, 3, etc). I definitely plan on returning for a longer stay & bringing her laptop & drawing software. TV in both main room & bedroom, dvd in living room, fully equipt kitchen & lovely bathroom so loads to do without even leaving the cottage. This time, I'd brought my mother along & we were all comfortable--next time just me & the wee one when we need a break from the larger town. Highly recommended especially if you've a child with anxiety who just needs peace & quiet. I say this bc I know just how rare it can be to find such a space where you know you and your child can just relax.
