Gorgeous cozy cottage!
Really fantastic place and a great host, so quick to reply if we had a question. Well stocked kitchen etc.The village is beautiful. Plenty of cafes, pics, Beach, rock pooling, walks. Eat to get to Teignmouth across the estuary by ferry, car or on for via the bridge. Highly recommend! Note that the fireplace is not real, but the place is so small and the heating effective it's still very cozy.

Cosy cottage by the sea
A gentle getaway - a cosy beautifully equipped house literally around the corner from the beach and the village shops and pubs. Really quaint and pretty. Perfect for dogs - although, no doors downstairs to contain them and no stair gate to keep them from exploring. Our dogs loved being able to patrol the stairs and landing!! They’re not allowed upstairs at home!! Ness cove is a five minute stroll away with a smugglers tunnel to the rugged and lovely beach. Great for cold water swimming at high tide. The London inn was Exceptional for home cooked food. A wonderful stay cut short by a family issue but we would love to return. A shout out to Tim the host - he left sourdough bread and local butter - delicious with a baked Camembert and honey on our first night x

Charming cottage central to everything
Good communication with host, easy check in. The cottage had all the amenities you could need and was in a perfect location right by the main Strand and estuary, with ferry stop for Teignmouth. The cottage was charming, traditional and well restored - as the description stated - you should mind your head as some of the doorways are low & there were a couple of bumped heads! The cottage had lots of cleaning products available & home comforts. Bed linen was very clean & the bed was extremely comfy., We slept really well. Cleanliness was generally good standard throughout, although there were a few cobwebs about. Easy stroll to great pub - The Ferry boat Inn - a couple of good eateries and seconds to the beach. Which is a good job as if you are lucky enough to find a parking space, you don't want to risk moving it again! The council have stopped issuing a weeks parking pass on the public carpark too due to local complaints, which needs updating on info. Fabulous weather added to make this a great stay in a lovely location.

Excellent cottage, perfect location
We had a wonderful time and the cottage was the perfect location. 30 seconds to the sand and lovely friendly beaches of Shaldon. The cottage was great, comfortable and cosy. The outside area was great for eating outside. The games, DVD’s and books were great when we wanted to just chill out. We’d highly recommend. Thanks Tim.

Fantastic Shaldon House
From to start to finish we had a fantastic experience. The property exceeded our expectations and excellent communication with Tim the owner. Location was 1 min walk to Shaldon beach and 10 min walk to Ness beach which was sandy and safe for swimming. There is also great outdoor space with garden furniture and sunny during the day. Lots of great places to eat but suggest booking ahead as popular. Good supply of local shops but a half hour walk gets you to Teignmouth. No parking at property but good cheap local car park nearby or free on street parking close by. Thoroughly recommend staying at this property .

A break by the sea
This was my first time in Shaldon, and both the resort and the cottage were perfect for our needs. Communication with the owner was excellent throughout the whole process. Location was also perfect for what we needed, central but quiet. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for a restful few days away. We enjoyed the artwork in the cottage too!

Shaldon at Christmas
Property is in the heart of the village and the hosts were very friendly on check in. The house was nicely decorated for Christmas and very warm and cosy for a winter getaway. Small negatives would be chipped mugs/crockery, ancient frying pan and towels could do with replacing. Shaldon is lovely. I would stay again.

Had a lovely stay
The house was lovely, had all we needed (except wifi & a broom, who wants to hoover? They had a hoover but a broom would have dealt with the sand quicker). Parking a nightmare but this is nothing to do with the house! Would stay again & would recommend, excellent location, comfy beds! Thanks for a lovely stay :)

Lovely cottage only minutes from the beach
Lovely cottage which is minutes from the local beach. We had a great stay and the owner, Tim, couldn't have been more helpful. Shaldon is a really nice village with some great cafes, a couple of pubs and a good local shop. Highly recommended.

I live in the village with my family,I'm a Commercial Artist working from home.I have lived in the cottage watching my family grow up for many years, it's a wonderful place for a child as the beach is their safe playground while adults can relax!

Why they chose this property

Providence Cottage dates from 1780 when Horse Lane was named Providence Lane, the cottage used to be two small fisherman's cottages but was knocked into one in the 70's.It has been renovated by us and the previous owners. It has a character feel but with a modern vibe.

What makes this property unique

Providence Cottage is Cosy and Modern, it's a stones throw from the village beach and 2 mins from the centre of the village.
We have some fabulous restaurants from ODE Cafe,ODE & Co,the London Inn to the Clipper Cafe.
