About this property

Fabulous location, luxury lodge for 8+2 in cots, hot tub, garden, garage, dogs

CAMUSMORE HOUSE offers luxury accommodation and is an exclusive self-catering lodge in a quiet clearing in Scotland’s largest ancient scot’s pine woodland.
‘LUXURIOUS AND UNIQUE INTERIOR’
Fully recently refurbished, gently warmed by the central heating, there are soft carpets and oak floors on the ground floor and cosy carpeting upstairs where the bedrooms have superking and king size beds, padded high headboards and crisp white linen.
The inset wood burning stove compliments the local slate hearth.

Furnishings are a unique blend of antique, vintage and contemporary. The oak dining table seats 8. The modern kitchen with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, two fridges- naturally one for cool drinks - also includes the traditional Aga two oven stove, but converted to allow separate control of hotplates and ovens and many kitchen utensils to make your stay easy and luxurious. Or dine al fresco, on the lit terrace, next to the hot tub and enjoy the sunset over the highland cattle and the view to Carn Dearg Mor.

The house lends itself well to all ages, with a superking bed with ensuite shower room on the ground floor, 2 travel cots, high chair, baby bath and bumble seat. And a large garden and good fresh air to tire little legs.

GENEROUS BEDROOMS
Camusmore House has four individually styled bedrooms, softly lit, offering the flexibility of superking, kingsize, twin single or two bunks. One kingsize, with views to the garden and woodland or across the trees to Cairngorm, Coire Cas and the Faicalle ridge and the fourth with views to the cattle meadow contains bunks. Two bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms with generous showers and a third is immediately next to the house bathroom with shower. In addition to the 8 bedspaces we have 2 travel cots for toddlers. There is a separate cloakroom/wc downstairs for guests use. All en-suites and bathrooms have complimentary hand soaps, plus luxury cotton towels, robes and crisp linen throughout.

HOT TUB
From its elevated location, enjoy the view to the highland cattle or Carn Dearg Mor. After a day of mountain or loch exercise there is no better way to relax than soak in the hot tub under the ink black starry sky.
It is pre-programmed to a constant 40 degrees throughout your stay to enjoy at anytime of the day or night.

FUN FOR KIDS
Camusmore House has a large garden perfect for playing and sits centrally in the Rothiemurcus forest, the largest area of native scots pine forest in the UK - birds, mini beasties, deer, reindeer, flowers and fungi - and a playground for all ages and interests.

DRIVEWAY AND GARAGE
The driveway will easily accept 6 cars and the garage with secure bolting eye can store wet outdoor clothing and gear, boots, skis, boards, bikes and motor bikes.

Perfect stay
The house was in an ideal location and was spacious, clean and comfortable and had all amenities. We have been staying in Aviemore for over 15years and this was by far the best that suited our needs as a family. We hope to be back next year

Perfect Christmas Escape
From start to finish our week long holiday was fantastic in terms of the cottage itself and the surrounding area. Plenty of space inside and outside the cottage, the fire and hot tub were a lovely addition to an already fantastic stay. Cooking and dining in the generous kitchen space was most enjoyable.

Best house of our trip
This house was perfect for us - my son and his wife had the upstairs and my husband and I had the downstairs. The bed in the downstairs bedroom was comfortable, which was great as my back had been having a hard time with the hard beds where we'd stayed before this house.

Highlands Gem
My family of four adults plus one friend had a great stay at Camusmore House for a week in March. The house was terrific, layout was great for our needs, and there were plenty of everything to self-cater for a week. We had some issues with the heater the first couple of days and nights, but the hosts were extremely active in communicating with us to try simple solutions, and in the end they brought in a professional repair technician who promptly fixed an issue in the boiler. Problem solved and comfort restored for the balance of our stay. Who knows when that may happen, despite the prechecka I’m sure the hosts do?? We measure the reaction and communication with the hosts to resolve the matter and I can say our hosts were great in this respect. Thank you for your efforts and attention, and we are very happy to recommend your home as a great hub for exploring the Highlands!

Excellent house for a holiday for 6. The bunk room for +2 is a bit small and drab. We had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this house!

Family Stay in the Highlands
We had a lovely time. Home is in a great location on a quiet street you're only neighbors are some adorable cows. How often do you get to sit in a hot tub with highland cows grazing nearby. You feel like you're totally in the country yet you are in 5 minutes drive to grocery store restaurants etc. We did lots of hikes, great little town with lots of friendly people. House is adorable.

Beautiful house and convenient location for exploring the Highlands.
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Having two refrigerators was great. The beds were comfortable. It is in a quiet location but it is only a few minutes drive to shops and restaurants. We had a wonderful stay and just wish we could have stayed longer.

Fantastic fantastic fantastic!!!
I cannot praise the property, owners and location enough. From start to finish this was an effortless customer experience. We were advised that we could check in early as there was no one staying at the proper in the days before our stay. Upon arrival we were taken aback by the location, size and cleanliness of the property. It has absolutely everything that we needed keeping in mind we had 2 children under 7 months old. There were travel cots, high chairs and lots of toys available. The bedrooms were fantastic and we had the best sleep in the beds. The house was warm and cosy with the heating on and the kids loved the hot tub and being able to watch the highland cows in the field. Over all I can’t recommend this property enough. It’s simply terrific.

Family holiday
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house was comfortable if a bit tired. Lovely spacious rooms and plenty of bathrooms. You need a car/bike here because it is a busy road to walk on, no pavement. Our elderly dog was disadvantaged by this. Nonetheless lots of lovely walks nearby and lots of activities to enjoy.

VERY Spacious and Well-appointed
The place is just perfect…clean, more spacious than the photos do justice to, and well-appointed, even with the little extras like basic seasonings and cooking oil. I’ve stayed in listings that are sterile and unwelcoming. This home is quite the opposite. The hot tub at sunset with songbirds singing in the forest…ahhh-mazing!!! Would absolutely book again.

Family getaway
Lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location for a range of activities. Cosy for an October break but would be fantastic in warmer weather too. Our only small criticism was the night time temperature was set at 15 degrees and couldn’t be changed and while there was lots of cosy bedding we had a toddler who still wakes a couple of times in the night so it was a bit cold tending to him. Still a 5⭐️ break.

Great Highland Vacation
Camusmore House ticked all the boxes for a wonderful Highland holiday. It is located close to many attractions and the nearby town of Aviemore has shops and grocery stores providing everything we needed. The kitchen is more than adequate and the bedroom layout suited our family ( 4 adults, 3 kids,13,11,and 8) well. The hot tub and pool table were welcome amenities especially for the children. The descriptions are accurate and the owners, Janet and Grahame were easy to communicate with. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the house.

Lovely Stay
A lovely property in a beautiful area. The house is very well equipped, very nicely furnished and has a lovely homely feel about it. It is ideally situated for sightseeing in the Aviemore area and is great for visiting Loch Morlich, Loch Insch, Cairn Gorm, The Landmark Centre and locations further afield. I was there with my wife and my daughter, her husband a two grand children and it was an ideal base for us. It also has a hot tub which was available although we did not use it as it was very windy and cold. We highly recommend the property.

Wonderful, relaxing stay in the heart of the Cairngorms
We had a wonderful week at Camusmore! The house suited us 4 adults and 1 child perfectly. The rooms were clean, spacious, bright and airy and the kitchen well-equipped. The weather and the midges cooperated so we were able to enjoy morning coffee and evening dinner outside every day. Camusmore is perfectly situated to take advantage of the walking and biking trails and activities in Rothiemurchus without needing a car. Plenty of good restaurants in the area and a Tesco in Aviemore 6 kms away. The little one loved the beach at Loch Morlich, feeding the deer and especially the hot tub! The cows occasionally bellowed, I couldn't get the European dryer to dry and we couldn't find the instant barbeque grill but we loved Camusmore! We'd definitely stay here again.

Highland heaven and all the Coos you could ask for
Property felt like home the moment we arrived. Pics do not do it justice. Super clean and roomy. The backfield is filled with Highland cows that make their way up at least twice a day. Kitchen is huge and also has great view. Location cannot be beat. 4 miles to Loch Morlich with rest of town even closer. Family and I cannot wait to return.
