Located 60m from beach and situated opposite the sand dunes. Loved by families.
Hufflepuff in Porthtowan is a perfect location for families and surfers. The dunes are ideal for children to play on with a park for younger children. The beach itself is fantastic for surfing and body boarding and in peak seasons it is supervised by lifeguards. The mermaid pool is accessible as the tide goes out and is perfect for splashing around in. The stream and rock pools on the beach provide plenty of entertainment for children. For those who enjoy walking the house is on the costal path and a walk to Chapelporth can be rewarded with lunch in the café there. The Blue Bar in Porthtowan is an excellent location to have a drink or a meal and has fantastic views of the beach; perfect for watching the sunset in the evening. Porthtowan has its own Ice Cream Parlour 'The Moomaid' which, sells delicious ice-cream and is well worth trying. The Beach Café in Porthtowan also sells great food during the day. The house itself has an enclosed garden at the rear which is a sun trap on sunny days whilst keeping the wind at bay. The house's proximity to the beach makes it easy to wander from the house down to the beach in your wet suit ready to enjoy the waves for the day.

This house is perfect for us, less than a minute from the beach, in a lovely little village with everything we need and on the coastal path. This was our fourth visit to the property and I'm sure that we will visit again!
Lovely beach. Best pub is the Blue Boy on the opposite side of the dunes. The Unicorn is overpriced and the staff don’t seem the know what they’re doing. Aldi is a short drive away in Redruth but don’t go mad with the shopping because the fridge at this property isn’t very big. The internet is very good though.
Placed just beside the sea, and a 2 minute walk from the local shop and pub makes an ideal location. The house is well equipped with all you need for a perfect Cornish holiday.
This is our second visit to Hufflepuff and it was even better. The weather was great and Porthtowan is so convenient for other places, as well as being a great place to stay.
We've already booked again for next year!
Great, comfortable property. Really clean and welcoming. All kitted out for body boarding life and for dodging terrible weather if required (which we had too!)
Location is perfect for swims, body boarding and gorgeous costal walks either way. The Blue Bar had fantastic service and sunsets ( the menu is limited, but well done). Far preferrable to the Unicorn which had poor service and food that was over priced. Only welcome addition to the property would be a hairdryer please!
I do hope we make it back
This is a perfect beachside property, really only a minute's walk from the beach. Everything was was described and we had a very happy comfortable week long stay. This was our first visit to Porthtowan but it won't be out last and we want to stay here again! Thank you for letting us stay in your house.
Lovely house in an enviable position...nearness to the sea was such a bonus. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. A place where you can relax in peace.
We couldn’t have had a better time. The location is superb, ideal for families with the beach and playground (with pub attached) on your doorstep. Will definitely be back.
This cottage was amazing we loved every minute of our stay so cosy and homely beds and bedding top quality emaculately clean . Location absolutley brilliant .

Thank you for a wonderful time!

Perfect location on a wonderful beach
Porthtowan was just lovely. It’s a great beach and the house is in such a great location with reliable parking.
Great house for us. The ONLY thing is that I think it could be made clearer on the description that although linens are provided, this does not mean towels as well!! It’s not a big deal to bring towels but useful to know. It seems we weren’t the only ones to be caught out.
Overall great stay.

Porthtowan July 2018
The property was clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped even to a nespresso machine for the daily coffee. Very convenient for the beach and local amenities, the blue bar busy but good selection of food. The local shop well stocked. Moomaids icecream is delicious. Thanks for making a lovely place available.

Toplage - sehr sympathische Unterkunft
100% Empfehlung.

About the host
Hosted by Kate Stanton
We are a family of 4 who love everything Porthtowan has to offer. Dan loves to tackle the challenge of the waves on his kayak whilst Kate loves the exhilaration body boarding provides. Emma, 12 years old loves to jump over and dive through all the waves whilst Luke, 11 years old is learning how to surf. Watching the sunset over the horizon in the evening is beautiful and we all enjoy watching it either sat on the beach or from The Blue Bar.
Why they chose this property
Porthtowan has a very special place in our hearts and we feel very fortunate to become the owners of a home in the village. We love the location because of its proximity to the beach making it easy to take kayaks, surf boards and body boards to the sea. It is easy to watch the kids playing in the dunes or the park from the home so they can be independent but as parents we know they are safe because we can see them easily. Porthtowan is a small village so the ice cream parlour, shop and restaurants are all close without being intrusive. We describe it as the perfect triangle, home, sea, pub!
What makes this property unique
The proximity to a fantastic beach with incredible waves.
