Great place for a cabin trip
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here! There’s no lie about the steep hill though, we couldn’t get the car up at all (SUV) so had to park at the very bottom and carry everything up. Wasn’t a huge deal for us but if you are in bad shape or plan to leave the cabin a lot, you’ll have a difficult time. Other than that, the property was big and fit everyone very comfortably. Great place for a weekend stay and the host is helpful!
This is our second stay at this cabin. It is perfect did for a larger group. There was a few maintenance issues that arised,But we were able to get it resolved with the owners help
My family and I stayed here for the weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was at a great location. The driveway is very steep so on the first night when we arrived, we just walked it up since we were to tired from the drive. The rest of the days my brother drove our front wheel suv up the driveway with little to no trouble. Overall our stay was great.
The cabin was great!!! Much better than the pictures!!! Beautiful interior!!!! I’d definitely stay again! Driveway is like all the other reviews!! Steep but manageable!! 4 wheel drive for piece of mind but front wheel drive did ok too!!!
This place has been amazing both times we stayed. The area is great and the house is clean. I will reiterate again as before, you do need 4WD or AWD to comfortably get to the home.
The place was great. House was clean and as expected. Owner was prompt with all replies and clear with communication. The property itself is private and the views were amazing. We spent time in the Pisgah National Forest and in Asheville, both were reasonable drives from the house. I will echo what the listing says about needing a four wheel drive vehicle to get up to the house, you can get a front wheel drive up under good conditions but four wheel drive is definitely preferable.
We had an amazing time and will definitely be staying again in the future. Definitely the Best Kept Secret.
Do not waste your time and money on this bullshit property.
Me and my family arrived close to the property in 5 vehicles. I had the only vehicle with 4-wheel drive. The property owner mentioned that the drive way up would be a bit steep, but not to the point where my Silverado z71 was getting stuck. In total there was 14 people. The owner suggested that since I have the only 4x4 that I should shuttle my family up and down that dangerous driveway. On one side of the driveway is a cliff, one false move or if your vehicle slides you and whoever is gone. VERY HAZARDOUS! Next after a very scary drive up and down to shuttle my family we get to the house. The house is nothing like it’s described. The yard is no where near 2 acres it’s all mud, and looks like the whole property will one day go down in a mudslide. We enter the house it’s not too bad on the inside expect one thing the damn AC doesn’t work. It was hot outside like 90 degrees, but that felt cooler than the inside. I called the owner several times with no answer, because he already knew why I was calling. The next morning as soon as I could I called VRBO. They apologised and told me I would get a refund. The owner called me saying he is gonna lose money. I said to him you really have the nerve to say your losing money when my family is from GA we don’t know anyone here, and had to spend a ton of money finding another place to stay. No one should ever have to experience this. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN LISTED.

Plenty of issues
We wanted to absolutely love this place. After reading the previous reviews we went ahead and gave it a shot. Our first issue was getting to the cabin itself. The driveway is quite steep. Our first try took 4 attempts to make it. Each previous attempt ending in making it halfway and spinning out on the gravel the entire time. You absolutely need 4 wheel drive to make it. Our other biggest issue was the carpenter ants. There is a serious infestation inside the property. They were everywhere including the downstairs bed while we were sleeping. I woke up with one on my face and at one point during a night trip to the restroom, I counted 15 on the walls of the bedroom. They were everywhere. All over the floors, kitchen, living room areas.... everywhere!
Our next issue was the AC. It did not work at all. The temperature in the cabin was always around 80 degrees. We had to open up all the windows to get any relief from the heat.
The hot tub was not filled all the way, it needed water to be able to even use it and it was at least a foot low.
Yes, this cabin does have WiFi but it's not very good and goes out frequently.
This cabin is so close to being great. The location is beautiful. If the driveway was paved, an exterminator and HVAC guy called, we'd not have had an issue.
Like I said, we wanted to love it so much but it needs some work before I'd ever consider renting again.

Dirty and filthy
there are two things about this place - you really need a 4x4 to get up to the cabin becasue the last strech is a bit steep. The cabin was not clean at all. The sheets and the blankets were not really clean and you can smell the difference. The whole house was still in construction mode and there were even debrees in the bathroom. The towles were also ditry. All the stuff in the house was purchased from the thrift store and has a second hand feeling as the house also looks like a made in a school project. The house has a huge TV but only 1 channel to watch. There is no WiFi also in the house.
Now to the pluses for the place: Really big and has lots of space, Has a beautifull view of the mountains and it is really close to the ski slopes. If the owner decides to upkeep the house and PUT CLEAN SHEETS AND BLANKETS i think this might be a very succesfull rental.

Great view from the porch, quiet, overall great place to stay
Very spacious, loved the view from the front porch while watching the sunrise over the mountains, peaceful, relaxing, and loved the rustic look and feel definitely looking forward to another stay at this cabin and would recommend anyone looking for a perfect getaway in the mountains. This cabin is only about 40 minutes from Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway and about 1-1/2 hrs from Grandfather Mountain we all really enjoyed our stay and hated to leave

Great View! Quiet! Close to Wolf Ridge Ski Resort
Our Family of 4 stayed two nights and is in the process of making reservations to return before December. This is definitely going to be in our financial budget plan for our week long vacation spot!! Love the location and the view from the porch is breath taking! Drove through Blue Ridge Parkway before leaving.

Worked at Wolf Laurel Ski Resort before falling in love with the area. Spent a few years in the area skiing, hiking, white water rafting and rock climbing.
Why they chose this property
Private location with magnificent views.
What makes this property unique
Close to the Wolf Laure Ski Resort - ideal for returning home for a break before going back to skiing. This is a mountain cabin so a 4 wheel drive is essential for this area especially during the winter season. All other times an all wheel drive is fine.
