About this property

A cosy, traditional two-bedroomed, cottage with log burner and central heating.

‘Disgwylfa' is the ideal property for your holiday or weekend retreat with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is ideally positioned to easily explore all areas of the Lleyn Peninsula and you can even leave the car behind here to walk, shop and eat.......a real treat!

'Disgwylfa' is a self-catering holiday cottage, the first cottage in a terrace of four, sitting high on the Lleyn Peninsula, overlooking the picturesque village of Sarn Mellteyrn. In the village, which is just a short walk from the cottage, there are two pubs that serve food, a village shop with butcher, a well-stocked small supermarket and petrol station. There is also a recreation ground for the children to play.

The cottage commands beautiful views over the hills and mountains of Garn Fadryn and the Rivals beyond. It is equidistant from the magnificent beaches and walks of Abersoch, Aberdaron, Nefyn and the market town of Pwllheli. Whistling Sands (Porth Oer) is just 4 miles away and Hell Mouth 3 miles. There are golf courses at Abersoch, Nefyn and Pwllheli and the famous steam mountain railways at Porthmadoc. The thrilling and famous Titan Zip Wire and other activities at Blaenau Ffestiniog are about an hour away.

‘Disgwylfa’ is centrally heated and has a log burner. The kitchen is well equipped with a ceramic hob, fan oven, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer etc. There is a waste disposal unit in the sink for food scraps but no bones please! Upstairs the bathroom has a bath, with shower over, lavatory and wash basin. There are two large double bedrooms with a double bed in one and a child’s cot bed. The other bedroom has two single beds, a folding bed and an ensuite shower room. Please bring your preferred bedding only for the cot bed. All other linen is provided for you.

The large traditional sitting room has a log burner, television with Freesat, pine dining table and chairs, two settees and an armchair. The house is well equipped to a high standard. The French doors, which are the entrance, open onto a stepped patio. The small, stepped patio with table and chairs is ideal for evening barbecues.

There is car parking space for two cars only. Your hot water is supplied FREE and is NOT controlled by the central heating boiler. To switch on the central heating, press top left button once ‘Select’. This activates morning and evening heating. We respectfully ask that if you use the central heating for more than 1½ hours morning and evening you leave extra payment of £10 per hour when you vacate the cottage. In this way we try to keep the rental as low as possible. ‘Disgwylfa’ is strictly a non-smoking cottage. Please place recycling items (plastic bottles, glass, tin, cartons, trays, paper, card) in the blue boxes provided outside together with the green wheelie bin for landfill only.

The cottage is cosy and comfortable and we hope that when you stay there, you will also find that to be so. The one thing we ask is that you please leave the cottage in the same clean state that you found it. Please do not arrive before 3.00pm on your day of arrival and leave by 10.00am on your day of departure. If we are not around and you have a query, please text or email as above. If you require further information or wish to book at any time, we would love to host you.

Short stay in Sarn
The property was actually better than expected, plenty of room and well equiped. The location is excellent for being so central and close to many of the lovely beaches. Checking in was easy. Merilyn was very helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again in future. A lovely stay all round.

Disgwylfa, Sarn Mellteyrn
Perfect central location for exploring many of the lovely beaches and costal towns. In a quiet and quaint village, with a well stocked village shop. An EV charger is also available at the village hall. The house was very clean and matched the description, it suited our needs perfectly at a good price. The host was very welcoming, and I will be recommending the property to friends and family. Thanks.

Clean, comfortable, lovely view.
Very clean and well equipped and having lovely views of the countryside. Both bedrooms are spacious with one having on-suite. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, toaster and plenty of crockery and utensils. There is a wood burner which we never used because it was summer. Never had any contact with the owners so can't comment on that.

Lovely little get away in a beautiful location
Merilyn kindly helped me arrange this stay very last minute. What a fantastic location if you are after a little tranquility but close enough to towns such as Abersoch that it’s only a short drive away for activities, pubs etc. The cottage has everything you need, with the luxury of two bathrooms. The kitchen is perfectly well equipped and the lounge has a good dining space and seating space. My only very minor issue was there was no internet availability and I had brought some work with me that I couldn’t finish or get onto a hotspot so just be aware of this and be ready to embrace completely switching off...not a bad thing! I found the property easy to find with the directions provided and check in etc all very easy and straightforward my whole stay. Thank you and would come again!

Rural Bliss
Totally exceeded my expectations, lovely quaint cottage in a rural village, convenient for beaches and for Abersoch. Spotlessly clean, kitchen very well equipped and with the added surprise of beds already made up and a welcome gift when we arrived. Thank you so much for your welcome. A much needed very relaxing holiday.

Love this cottage, perfect place to stay.
Very conveniently placed, lots of places only a short drive away. Gorgeous beach nearby. Always feel welcome and plenty of space for a family as well as modern conveniences if staying for more than a few days. Definitely recommend.

New Year Stay
The property was clean warm with all the necessary equipment for our stay as we always self cater. We always take a break at new year and although the weather was good the wood burner was welcome at the end of a long day out. Having one ensuite and a bathroom for the second bedroom was also a bonus with lovely hot water. Merilyn the owner was on the end of her mobile for questions and it was lovely of her to thank us for leaving the cottage clean and tidy we always do this but never had a thnkyou before, really appreciated. Would recommend this cottage and area.

Cosy, well equipped and perfectly positioned
The cottage was very comfortable and relaxing; set in a quiet location and an ideal base for our weeks walking from Porthmadog to Porth Colman. The cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy the beautiful Lleyn Peninsula and we hope to be back to explore the area more fully.

Would not bother with again
You can rent better for less, even if they charge more. Owners have extra charges, that you only discover on arrival. Half decent property, not worth the effort.

Well equipped holiday cottage with comfy beds, hot showers and good location
We had a great stay. Although tucked away, the directions Merylin gave us were perfect. We discovered a lovely holiday cottage which was quiet, very well equipped and clean. We didn't mind bringing our own bedding and it was nice to see clean, comfy mattresses, pillows and duvet. Plenty of room for our family of 4 - the girls loved having their own bathroom too. Fantastic location for beaches and village shop with butcher and stocked with essentials. We hope to return in the future.
