Family friendly private getaway just South of the Dordogne

Tucked between the villages of Labretonie and Saint-Barthélemy-d'Agenais is a beautifully restored 19th Century French Farmhouse. La Cachette is a 4-bedroomed gîte with the most amazing terrace and beautiful countryside views. Large terrace doors open into a stunning open-plan main room (the Salle) which has a double height beamed ceiling and log-burner filled with sofas, large dining table and perfect for relaxing with the family. Leading off from the main room (the Salle) is another lounge (snug) with log-burner; a kitchen, utility room and breakfast room, all with exposed beams and stone walls. There is a rustic yet contemporary feel throughout the property, which remains cool in the summer sun and is centrally heated for winter. The large terrace also offers a combination of shade and sun for al fresco dining or relaxing under a Merlot vine. Shelves and toy boxes hold treats for the kids and a well-stocked wine rack will keep the adults happy. This perfect family-friendly gîte in one of the most beautiful regions of France is great for a family retreat, as all accommodation is on ground-floor.

Superbe séjour

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour entre amis dans cette grande est belle maison de campagne ! La piscine est somptueuse et tout est adapté et équipé pour passer de merveilleux moments ! L’hôte a été très réactive et très agréable ! Je recommande vraiment

Très bon week-end

Très bon week-end entre amis, maison en pleine campagne avec un charme fou! Un jardin immense et une superbe piscine. Propriétaire réactif et organisé même en amont du séjour (groupe WhatsApp créé pour faciliter la communication). Idéal pour profiter d'un week-end/semaine entre amis/famille et se ressourcer à la campagne ! Dommage que nous ayons du partir à 10h (pour des raisons de procédures sanitaires liées au COVID-19)

Excellente location

Très belle maison, piscine et jardin très bien entretenue. Au niveau de la propreté de la maison rien à dire et un cadre vraiment très sympathique. Un 10/10 !

We had an absolutely fantastic two weeks at La Cachette. The house is massive and in a very peaceful location within easy reach of local amenities. River beaches are about twenty mins away and are a fantastic day out although you can have more than enough fun in the very inviting 28 degree pool. Kids toys are in abundance so they are well catered for whilst you can relax on the beautiful shaded terrace with a cheeky drink day or night. Highly recommend and will most certainly be returning.

Very impressed!

An idyllic setting which is extremely peaceful. Plenty to do in the area and at the property, which was very well equipped. We would recommend this to anyone wanting a very peaceful, relaxing and fun-filled holiday!
