About this property

There is no home closer to the river than mine with the 180% views and the sound of the Skykomish river going by you will find the most peaceful place to relax and get away from all the nonsense in the world. The ultimate hideout with fully stocked kitchen of Pottery Barn dishes propane BBQ and 2 luxurious queen beds perfect for 4 people or small family I also have a couple of futons and a couch most people prefer to sleep on so can watch and hear river go by. This is not a party house and I discourage this at my home but great for small gathering of great friends or family I may hold a record for honeymooners at my house I average about 25 a year so romantic and great to decompress after all the business of getting married especially in these times of trying to plan something special I have been told over and over that my home was the best part of getting married and being stress free to boot. So check out drone video and get an overall look at my home and can bring your furry friend 30 per dog per night also fully fenced yard with deck so they can watch eagles osprey and rafters go by. I have a community beach short 5 min walk down the road that they can go swimming and I ever supply their towels but they are usually dry by the time you get back. Oh and can't forget to mention the hot tub amazing at night with the stars and river right there ozone so you don't feel poisoned by chlorine afterward this place is great year round with and such a short drive from Seattle for a totally different change of scenery many hikes within 6 miles of my home Wallace falls, Heybrook lookout, Bridelviel falls and if you really want a challenge Lake Serene. I supply the hiking pass you just need to put on your shoes and go! Read my reviews and make a date to treat yourself to some downtime at the Bend on the River House

60th Birthday Riverside Getaway

My husband had a 'bucket list' item of staying in a cottage along a babbling brook so for his 60th I searched and settled on this property. It was much more than a babbling brook, a beautiful river view with rapids right outside the cottage. It was great! We hiked up to the Wallace Falls, that was also fabulous. Cozy cottage with a great view.

Great place for a quick getaway!

My husband and I went to celebrate his birthday and take some much needed time away. This was a perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful river, and hike the local trail. I highly recommend!

Relaxing and peaceful

This is a great property that feels very private. My stay was such a wonderful quiet retreat. It poured rain the entire time but the fireplaces and the candles made it such a cozy, comfortable space. I look forward to coming back again!

Very pleasant and relaxing. Host provided very pleasant greeting with music, a fire going and candles. The scenery and setting was spectacular. I made a photo scrap book so I could view it whenever I need to relax and remember a very good time.

Nice cabin but VERY NOISY and rude owner

Nice cabin right on river (no direct river access) w beautiful scenery. Be aware that it is an extremely noisy spot due to the trains rumbling through often and at night plus the highway is right there w big trucks barrelling through. We had the unfortunate experience of a deer getting hit and ending up on the private road to the cabin. The owner was NOT helpful w this situation. My husband had to walk through the neighbours yard to bypass the severely injured animal and all hell broke loose w accusations of trespassing! No concern for the deer or us having to deal with an awful situation. We didn’t want our grandkids to see the deer. The owner is gruff, aggressive, accusatory and not very sympathetic or compassionate. There are lots of parks close by and also a private beach less than 5 min down the road with a rocky trail down to the beach.

Family Hiking Trip

Spectacular views from this house, kitchen fully equipped. Very cozy. Local diner and pizza place were both delicious. Highly recommend hiking at Wallace Falls State Park.

Property was very nice. Home had lots of extras with all sorts of kitchen items and DVDs. The beds were comfortable. I found it odd that the owner asks for you to shower before AND after using the hot tub. This was asked numerous times in postings around the cabin as well as in email communications. This seems a but much. Especially asking to shower after as this has no effect on the hot tub water quality. Overall a very nice property and was very relaxing.

A Wonderful View

This place is something very special. We spent so little time inside the actual house just because of how extraordinary the outside was. I know there are pictures but they don't do it justice. Everyone just needs to visit here and experience it for themselves. Even if the house doesn't have all the amenities you'd desire (and it's a lovely home), seriously consider visiting

So if your looking for a place to get away from it all and not have to drive half a day or more to get there this location is for you. Recreational paradise and many legal green shops on the way relax and come stay at the Bend at the River house...
