Loved this property! Cozy, chic, and just the right size for our family for a long birthday weekend. Easy check-in and out, has everything you need to be comfortable, and is so convenient to UVA, the Downtown Mall, and so many other great spots. Thank you!
Great place and perfect location for UVA football!
We came to town for football and chose this place because it was in walking distance to the stadium. Perfect location! Perfect little house and back yard!
We came to Charlottesville for a wedding and could not have been more pleased with this property. Walking distance to UVA and a short ride or a longer walk downtown. It was extremely clean and the host was responsive and ensured we had everything we needed. We had an amazing time. Would come back!
We visited Charlottesville for our sons graduation from the JAG law center. This home was charming, clean, and very comfortable. If I ever need to be in Charlottesville again, I will plan to stay here.
3 friends and I spend the weekend in Charlottesville and enjoyed this little cottage! It was close to downtown (driving) and has a cute area in the backyard to sit outside in the evening.
Nice little house with off street parking. Comfortable beds. Walking distance to morning coffee and restaurants. Only minutes from university campus. Looking forward to our next visit.
What a cozy place! One of the cleanest VRBOs I’ve stayed in. We were short on towels but other than that it was perfect and I would definitely book this home again in the future.
We booked this cute house for a concert at JPJ arena. The house is even better than the online photos. Super cute and very clean. Walkable to campus and several local restaurants. We also drove to Shenandoah National Park.
Easy check in and overall great stay. Highly recommend.
We stayed here for easy access to UVA Hospital and UVA. This house was perfectly located, within 1.5 miles of the hospital and less than a mile to UVA. The house is the perfect size, very comfortable and has everything you need. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. The backyard would be perfect also but we were there during the winter and did not go outside. The property manager is friendly and very helpful with any questions. I would definitely stay here again!
The property was so nice! it was a mixture of old, new and eclectic. Spacious inside and out. The back yard area and covered porch were perfect for pregame activities. The best part was the short and easy walk to the stadium. The beds were very comfortable too. The location is also central to good restaurants, winery trips and Carter Mountain Orchard. We will be back!
My parents rented this house to be nearby to help care for my new baby. The house is bright, well-appointed and cozy. The fenced-in back yard was perfect for their dog to run around, and the location meant it was easy for us to take walks up to UVA or hop on 250 to get downtown or to Barracks Road, or onto 64 to head out to a winery. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient rental in Charlottesville.

Comfy beds were just the start!
My wife and I and our daughter were visiting the UVa campus and had the pleasure of staying in the Azalea cottage. What a beautiful and comfortable spot! The beds and pillows were superb and we felt right at home the entire time. We walked to UVa to tour the campus and then walked only 2 blocks later that evening to a fun wood fired pizza restaurant. I can't think of one thing I would do to improve this cottage!
The cottage is adorable and set up nicely. Comfortable furnishings and nice quality linens. The backyard is a huge plus. Great location, convenient to the University and shops and restaurants. A couple notes: the electric has not been updated and there are limited outlets in the rooms which can be challenging. Also, there was a strong musty smell the entire time we we were there. Opening windows for air flow did not help. It rained during our visit and a fair amount of water leaked into the basement. We advised the property manager and were told that they have a commercial dehumidifier and sump pump. Based on the strong musty smell, however, I’m not sure that equipment is sufficient.

Absolutely delightful in every way!
This is my first time visiting Charlottesville and we came to visit for college as my daughter had just committed there. :) I am very picky about where I stay and was extremely underwhelmed by the choices of hotels in Charlottesville. I had read all the reviews and check out all the prices. Nothing seemed worth the $300 that the hotels wanted. So I turned for the first time, to VRBO. I was so thrilled to see the choices on offer here. We chose Azalea Cottage because of it's charm, proximity to the school and decent value. The owner Gail is a pleasure to deal with and graciously allowed us to check in early because we had arrived on the redeye. The property is absolutely immaculate. It is light and bright, clean and comfortable. The beds are excellent, the bedding very nice and the towels good quality. There was a coffee machine with coffee in the kitchen and half-and-half in the fridge, for which I was extremely grateful! On the last day of us today we came back to the cottage for a cup of tea and to catch up on some homework before our final dinner in Charlottesville. We sat with the doors open listening to the birds singing in the yard and the peaceful sound all this gentle neighborhood. It was a profoundly relaxing moment and he gave me great confidence in this very special little town, in which my daughter has chosen and is lucky enough to go to school. Thank you Gail for a perfect stay in your magical little home. We will be back:-)
I am an interior designer and renovation addict! I was so excited to find this property right next to UVa and completely renovate it and furnish it with fun finds from my favorite stores.
Why they chose this property
We graduated from UVa in the 80's and lived not too far from this street. When this house became available, we knew we had to jump on it. The location so close to Scott Stadium will provide UVa football lovers the greatest parking and tailgating spot not in the stadium.
What makes this property unique
The location of this cottage is just hard to beat.
