Scansano Country House is an ancient charming stone house located in the heart of Maremma, the southern area of Tuscany, Italy. The villa is set on a gentle hill just a couple of kilometers from an enchanting village called Scansano, well known for its Morellino di Scansano, one of Toscana's most prestigious wines. The house's stunning view stretches from Capalbio to Monte Argentario and Orbetello Laguna. Inside, the traditional beamed ceilings and terracotta floors are highlighted by lovely paintings. A paved terrace with tables, chairs and comfortable loungers surrounds the house. The terrace is immersed in an amazing Mediterranean garden with a unique swimming pool. The property (27 acres) lies within a working farm estate producing first quality olive oil.
Ground floor:
Divided in 4 main spaces: dining room with a nice wooden table for 8/10 people, well equipped kitchen, livingroom with 2 sofas, a nice piano mezzacoda, a fireplace, toilet and a small room double sofa bed.
First floor:
1 double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a fireplace, 1 double bedroom, 1 double bedroom/triple bedroom (with an extra single bed), 1 bathroom, 1 sitting room/space.

Garden, terrace and pool:
A very large garden with terraced lawns at the heart of a huge olive trees property. Amply furnished stone terraces wrap around the main house. The private pool, 12 x 6m is set on a paved terrace, some 25 m from the main house and has an amazing view on the Monte Argentario and on a little strip of the Orbetello Laguna.

POSITION

A peaceful setting located in the dreamy atmosphere of the Maremma hills. A handful of little charming towns dots the countryside, including Scansano, 6 km, Magliano, 15 km, Manciano 20 km, Capalbio, 27 km. The Tuscany riviera, including the Parco Naturale della Maremma, the Monte Argentario (40 km), Giglio and Giannutri Islands (1 hour by ferry boat from Porto Santo Stefano) is easily reachable. The nearest shops, post office, restaurants, bars, hospital are 6 km from the villa. If the quiet of the countryside and the marine breeze of the coast are not enough consider going on a relaxing day trip to the Saturnia termal baths (20 km) or if you prefer some physical activity go and explore the many trekking paths of the Monte Amiata (60 Km).

Wundervolle Lage mit herrlichem Garten und traumhaften Ausblicken

Das absolut Beste am Haus ist der von Claudio perfekt gepflegte Garten mit dem schönen Pool und den einmaligen weiten Ausblicken über die Hügel. Allein die Sonnenuntergänge sind ein Traum. Das ganze Ensemble vermittelt eine ruhige und friedliche Atmosphäre, die einen vom ersten Tag an in ihren Bann zieht. Das Haus selbst (insbesondere Küche, Bäder und Betten) ist in die Jahre gekommen. Trotzdem - auch dank Claudios fleißiger Arbeit - wunderschöner Urlaub.

Zalige vakantie in Toscane !

Toscane op zijn best. We verbleven in een authentieke en karaktervolle woning op een 5-tal kilometer van Scansano, tussen de wijnvelden en olijfbomen, en met een geweldig uitzicht op het Toscaanse platteland. Het contact met de host verliep uitstekend. Claudio stond in voor het onderhoud van de tuin en het zwembad. Aangename, gastvrije man bij wie wij terecht konden voor al onze vragen. De woning bevindt zich op het Toscaanse platteland, zodat we de auto moesten nemen om ons naar de kust en andere interessante plaatsen te begeven, maar dit wisten wij op voorhand en was geen probleem. Algemeen zeer aangename vakantie !

We’d come back, no question

It’s the best of Toscana - a lovely property with spectacular views and loads of charm. Lots of interesting things to do within driving distance. The property manager Claudio was super helpful, responsive and great humoured and he keeps the gardens looking just beautiful - every leaf in place yet natural and robust - at least in May. (The only very small drawback of the place for us is that the kitchen crockery, pots and pans etc, are tired - if you are planning to be cooking dinners at the property. If you are, then likely you have the skills to improvise. To balance that off, the bed linens are primo - best we’ve ever had at a rental. ) We would absolutely come back to this property in a heart beat.

Haus in der Natur

Das Haus liegt in Alleinlage direkt an einer wenig befahrenen Straße, ungefähr 6 km von Scansano entfernt. Alle Fenster und Türen sind mit starken Eisengittern gesichert, was einem ein Stück weit Sicherheit gibt. Auf dem Grundstück leben wilde Katzen, man darf die Türen nicht unbeobachtet offen lassen. Das Haus und das Grundstück werden von Claudio sehr gut in Schuss gehalten, er kam jeden 2. Tag und hat den Pool und den Garten gepflegt, ein sehr höflicher, zuvorkommender und netter Mensch. Der Kontakt zur Agentur, in unserem Fall zu Gabriel, war hervorragend. Alle unsere Fragen wurden umgehend beantwortet. Der Pool ist sauber, mit Blick in die Weinberge, Olivenhaine und auf die Lagune von Orbetello, es sind genügend Liegen vorhanden, ebenso gibt es am Pool eine Sitzgruppe unter einem Strohdach. Das Grundstück ist nicht eingezäunt. Das Haus ist sauber, die Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen, vor allem die Bäder. Unserer Meinung nach waren vor allem im Wohnzimmer zu viele Möbel, somit fanden wir es etwas beengt. Es gibt keine deutschen Fernsehsender. Internet/Wlan funktioniert sehr gut. Im OG sind 3 Schlafzimmer mit "Doppelbetten", die Matratzen sind sehr hart und einteilig. Leider ist das Dach an der Veranda nicht wasserdicht, so dass man bei Regen nicht außen sitzen kann. Ein gemauerter Holzkohlegrill ist vorhanden, den haben wir auch genutzt. Man muss einfach wissen, dass das Haus tatsächlich in der Einöde steht und sich jeder Ausflug zieht, da man auf den schmalen kurvigen Straßen nur langsam voran kommt. Wir waren in Saturnia und wandern in Pitigliano, im Maremma Nationalpark und in Capalbio im Tarrotgarten. Das Restaurant Rifrullo in Scansano ist sehr gut, unbedingt reservieren.

Wunderbar!

Das Haus befindet sich in einer wunderbaren Lage, ist hervorragend ausgestattet und wird von dem stets freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Housekeeper Claudio in perfektem Zustand gehalten. Wir kamen zu viert mit zwei Kindern (13 und 10) und hatten eine großartige Zeit. Dabei haben wir einfach nur die Ruhe genossen, Ausflüge in die Umgebung unternommen und die wunderschöne Landschaft der südlichen Toskana mit dem (Renn-) Rad erkundet. Das Objekt entspricht zu 100% der Beschreibung und ist uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert!

Wunderschön!

An dem Haus stimmt einfach alles: Sehr schöne Lage, toller Pool, freundlicher Gastgeber, alles sauber, gepflegter Garten. Das Haus ist auch innen sehr charmant. Sehr nette Betreuung vor Ort von den "Hausdamen". Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: Es wäre schön, wenn das Vordach wasserdicht wäre, dass man den Garten auch bei Regen geniessen kann.

A Fantastic Experience

The house is located in a marvelous spot: the view and the surroundings are just amazing. The house has a lot of charme, the owner and the caretaker made us feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely come back and we suggest to everybody a visit in southern Tuscany.

Ruhe Total in einer sehr ursprünglichen natürlichen Landschaft.

Das Haus liegt wunderschön in den Hügeln und nur einige wenige Häuser sind in Sichtweite, wobei diese einige Kilometer entfernt liegen. Die Landschaft ist sehr ursprünglich und wohl so nur noch selten zu finden. Man hört und sieht sehr viele Vögel. Gerade mit dem Cabriolet eine Empfehlung, da man die kleinen schmalen Straßen befahren kann und nicht mehr aus dem Staunen herauskommt. Die Abgelegenheit hat natürlich auch Nachteile, da man zum Meer doch etwas Zeit benötigt und im Umkreis von ca. 20 KM keine gemütlichen Städtchen liegen, welche zum Bummeln einladen, aber in Scansano ist ein Coop-Supermarkt, wo man das wesentliche erwerben kann. Das Haus ist ideal geeignet für 6 Personen bzw. eine Familie mit Kindern geeignet. Man kann sehr gut selber kochen, da alle notwendigen Dinge vorhanden sind. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich, wobei wir aufgrund des schlechten Wetters mit dem Kamin heizen mussten. Dies war kein Nachteil, da dies sehr stimmungsvoll war. Claudio hat für einen sehr geringen Aufpreis immer wieder neues Holz zum Feuern vorbereitet und zur Verfügung gestellt. Wichtig ist, aber dass man gewisse Sicherheitsvorschriften, wie das Abschließen der Fensterläden und Türen und die Aktivierung der Alarmanlage beachtet, da dies ggf. notwendig ist. Für eine 5* - Bewertung müsste noch eine Außendusche, neuere Liegen und vor allem eine wetterfeste Überdachung vorhanden sein, da man sich andernfalls während eines leichten Regens nicht draußen aufhalten kann. Das Haus ist sehr sauber. Der Verwalter Claudio ist sensationell und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Besorgte guten Landwein, brachte gelegentlich unseren Müll weg, wenn er sowieso seinen eigenen Müll entsorgen hatte und pflegt die Anlage und sorgt für Sicherheit. Es werden nächtliche Kontrollgänge durchgeführt. Dies wussten wir sehr zu schätzen. Ein liebenswürdiger sehr guter Mitarbeiter, welchen man sehr gerne in Deutschland einstellen möchte. Das Haus hat noch etwas unterhalbe gelegen ein kleines Gästehaus in welchen Claudio lebt. Uns hat dies überhaupt nicht gestört und er hält sich sehr dezent im Hintergrund, so dass man seine Anwesenheit nicht wahrnehmen kann. Wir können das Haus daher sehr empfehlen. Familien Urlaub in Scansano

Einmalig!! Das Haus entsprach zu 100 % der Beschreibung, die Lage hervorragend, Entspannung pur! Haus, Swimmingpool und Gartenanlage top unterhalten. Claudio war immer da und doch niemals aufdringlich ...auf alle Fragen hatte er eine Antwort und auch super Tips für Unternehmungen. Zusammen mit seiner Frau Serena wurden wir super bekocht- Nur zu empfehlen ...wir kommen wieder :-) Besser gehts nicht! Besonderen Dank an Claudio und Serena

A wonderful stay at a wonderful house in Tuscany!

We (2 families with 4 adults and 4 children) spent a week at this charming house close to Scansano. The house was well maintained by Claudio, who also came by to clean the pool almost every morning and helped us with all sorts of questions we had. In Scansano you can find all necessary service and shops. The village also has a few nice restaurants, which Claudio helped us with recommendations to. Several wine producers are close by, if you want to go for some wine tastings. The Mediterranean is about 35 min away. We celebrated a birthday at the house with a typical Tuscan dinner, that was prepared by Claudio and his wife. This is highly recommended! It was great to be able to sit down and be served dinner at the house. The food was also appreciated by the kids (aged 5-7) and Claudio even made a special Tiramisu for the children, without coffee. Thank you Claudio for a wonderful stay!

Ein Juwel in der Toskana

Die Bewertung von Anna S. vom 30.05.2016 beschreibt genau das Haus, die Umgebung, die Ruhe und den wunderbaren Service von Claudio. Dem ist nichts hinzu zu fügen - vielleicht nur, dass man hin und wieder einen Esel aus der Ferne hört :-) Wir hatten dieses typische toskanische Haus mit seinen wunderschönen Außenanlagen, welche durch Claudio liebevoll und sorgsam gepflegt werden, für zwei Wochen gebucht und während unseres Aufenthalts noch einmal um eine knappe Woche verlängert. Gibt es einen besseren Beweis für unser Wohlbefinden? Die Buchung und Abwicklung war völlig problemlos. Anfragen wurden stets schnell und positiv erledigt. Vielen Dank an Gabriel! Besonders danken wir auch Claudio. Er pflegt die wunderschöne Außenanlage perfekt, respektiert die Prvatsphäre der Gäste und ist aber immer ansprechbar für Wünsche und Fragen. Toller Ort zum Entspannen und Genießen der Natur

Wer Ruhe und Entspannung, Weitblick und Natur sucht, für den ist ein Aufenthalt in der etwa 5 km außerhalb des Örtchens Scansano gelegenen und stimmig eingerichteten Villa goldrichtig. Wir waren 9 Erwachsene und haben dort eine sehr schöne Woche verbracht. Gleich am ersten Abend fielen uns das wunderbare Vogelkonzert und die aufleuchtenden Glühwürmchen im Olivenhain auf, wodurch bei allen etwas „Dschungelfeeling“ aufkam. Tagsüber teilt man sich das Anwesen und die Sonnenstrahlen mit Eidechsen. Die gesamte Außenanlage inkl. Pool ist topgepflegt, was dem fleißigen und netten Housekeeper Claudio zu verdanken ist, der uns bei der Ankunft freundlich willkommen hieß und uns auch während des Aufenthalts sowohl mit Weißwein als auch mit neuen Glühbirnen versorgte. Auch mit Restauranttipps half Claudio gerne weiter. Zum Einkaufen, für Restaurantbesuche und Ausflüge benötigt man das Auto. Einkaufen und essen gehen kann man problemlos in Scansano (ca. 10 Minuten Autofahrt). Schöne Ausflüge unternahmen wir unter anderem in den Naturpark Maremma, in den Naturpark Feniglia (Porto Ercole, Monte Argentario), zur Thermalquelle Saturnia und nach Pitigliano. Alles in allem ist diese Villa mit Relaxgarantie und perfektem Housekeepingservice sehr zu empfehlen. Wenn es sich ergibt, kommen wir gerne wieder :-)

Really magnificent

Our holidays in the really magnificent villa were absolutely wonderful. Claudio is a phantastic housekeeper, very charming and carefully!! From the advertisement in the booking information we had a lot of expectations, but the reality has absolutely exceeded our imagination. We want to return next year.

wonderful stay in Tuscany

This place is a wonderful location to combine going aroundTuscany and resting moments. The house is very nice, with a beautiful view on the hills and landscape that are typical of the region. It is well furbished and well equipped, as well as perfectly clean and taken care of. Claudio who takes care of everything has been very nice and very helpful. He has made everything for us to enjoy our stay, including nice advices on restaurants, site seeing and else. I can only highly recommend this place.

Toscana aus dem Bilderbuch

Schauen Sie sich die Bilder an und sie wissen wie es wirklich ist. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt auch dank der fürsorglichen Unterstützung von Claudio vor Ort. Er war immer da und hat uns versorgt, ob mit Brennholz für den Kamin, Wein als Gastgeschenk, oder mit Tips für den Weineinkauf , das Essen gehen oder ein Töpferei ohne Touristenaufschlag mit herrlicher Auswahl an Terrakotta. Probieren sie es selbst aus. .... Von unseren Kindern 15, 19/und 27/Jahren bis hin zu meiner Mutter und unserm Hund..alle waren begeistert.

Amazing location, great people, fantastic house

Authentic country house with wooden ceilings and great floors, breathtaking views over Maremma and the Monte Argentario. The arrival in the villa is unforgettable as you approach the swimming pool, surrounded by a very well maintained garden and your gaze start to immerse in a superb panorama. The caretaker is a guardian angel that helps every time you need him and has great tips about where to go, to eat and to have fun! Tuscany Personified

Four couples stayed at the Scansano Country House from May 15-19, and fell in love with it at first sight! The grounds were awash with greenery and blooming flowers and the house was spotless, ready for us with fresh sprigs of lavender in the squeaky clean bathrooms. The views from the back of the villa, overlooking the pool, are amazing, even more beautiful than we expected to see in Tuscany. Claudio, the caretaker, was very helpful in suggesting day outings, and was available for anything we needed. Bellissimo!!!
