WELCOME TO THE GITE DU CHALET DU BAZET !

Ideally located right up in the heart of the central Pyrenees - Toulouse is 90 mn away; Spain and the Aran Valley within easy reach (30km). The Chalet du Bazet offers stunning panoramic views over The 'Haute vallée du ger' mountain.The chalet can accomodate up to 7 people. You are guaranteed a warm welcome here, serene stay and unique moments of thorough relaxation.
In this well- preserved, unspoilt environment, you are bound to come upon all kinds of deer, hear the amazing loud bellowing noise of the Red Deer stags in autumn, and at night, gaze at the clear, starry skies whilst soaking in the hot tubs. A truly unique experience you will never forget !
Hot tubs are heated (39-40°C) by a wood burning stove installed in the water.

The sauna and tubs are handcrafted in the area by BAKEDO. The are built in larch wood.
Warm water will help relieve your tense muscles and bring deep relaxation to your body !
Our BAKEDO equipments will offer to you of very convivial evenings : Midnight baths, up in the heart of the Pyrenees....
Warm and cosy bedrooms. Simple decoration in pure Pyrenean chalet style tradition.
Our mountain gîte can sleep 7 in confort. Wooden floors walls rock, and natural light give to our gîte a warm Chalet feeling.

A big floor to ceiling sliding window helps the room light and provides nice panoramic views out over the mountains, particulary Le Cagire, a Pyrenean peak that is really worth discovering.
Le mourtis ski station (15 mn from the chalet), very popular with families, can also be seen from the gîte.
Getting to chalet du Bazet from Toulouse.
By road

Motorway A64 from Toulouse. Exit 20, Saint-Girons. In Montsaunes, take the road leading up to Aspet.
Motorway A64 from Tarbes. Exist 18, Saint-Gaudens. Check the signs indicating Miramont de Comminges. Follow D5 up to Aspet.
In Aspet, ckeck the signs indicating Le Mourtis. Take D618, and then D85.
The take D44, check the signs indicating Le Gouret, Le Souleignan. Drive up fill you get to the Chalet. You will see it on your left.
In winter, local Department roads are clear. But please note : snow equipment for your car is compulsory.

By train

The nearest train station is in Saint-Gaudens, 35 mn from the Chalet. Saint-Gaudens stations is on the Toulouse/Bayonne line.

By plane

The nearest airports are Toulouse Blagnac and Tarbes Ossun Lourdes both are 90mn from the chalet

Blissful honeymoon
Peaceful, remote, cosy, romantic, well equipped. This is exactly what we wanted for our mini-honeymoon in late summer. Dream view and location. Loved the two hot and cold spa baths, the comfortable bed/pillows, and the cooking utensils. Strongly recommend buying all groceries in advance, the closest shops are a 20 min drive down long windy narrow roads (including essentials - oil, salt, sugar etc.) We cooked all of our own meals, so happy to not have to go into town. Danny was very responsive, friendly, and a lovely host. We would love to come back for an anniversary trip one day!

Quelques jours idylliques dans un chalet tout confort et coocooning loin de tout.. Les bains nordiques sont un régal du matin au soir, quelque soit le temps. Quant au panorama .. de la pure magie ... le passage des animaux de près ou de loin, les montagnes et les couchers de soleil aux couleurs enivrantes. Vraiment un moment qui a ravi tout le monde jusqu'au dernier moment!! Merci aussi à Danny pour son accueil et sa confiance.

Beautiful location in secluded French mountains
Quaint cottage in beautiful French mountains. There was some glitches with the language barrier; I had to translate the contact into English, parts of the contact where not up to date such as deposit, additional costs for towels, robes and how to pay for these (owner requested cash but I didn’t understand that so we eventually settled on him sending an additional VRBO payment request that I paid). Overall a beautiful setting, wish we had more time there. It is remote and during the time we were there not much was open for food/petrol so plan ahead!

Petit paradis dans un endroit merveilleux !
Après un confinement de plus de 3 mois avec 3 jeunes de 20-24 ans, ce petit paradis nous nous a fait sentir comme des jeunes amants ! Parfaite location pour ceux qui aiment l’isolement, la tranquillité et la nature. Si on a l’occasion, on y retourne certainement !

Inoubliable !
Nous avons passé un séjour des plus magnifiques qui soit dans un paysage naturel à couper le souffle, surtout lorsqu’on est détendu dans ces bains scandinaves chauffés au bois avec une vue sur un lieu magique et calme surplombant des cols et des vallées verdoyantes… Mais avant tout, Danny est très attentionné, à l’écoute, toujours disponible et un très bon conseil pour les ballades à proximité (circuit de l'Escalette par exemple), bref Danny est un sage qui a tous les atouts pour vous faire de votre séjour un moment agréable et inoubliable. Dommage que nous n’ayons pas pu rester plus longtemps mais nous reviendrons certainement ! Merci Danny pour cet endroit très agréable, on s’est senti chez nous, vraiment !

Beautifull chalet in a stunning surrounding
We stayed in the chalet in the summer with our 3 small children (6 years, 3 years and 10 months). The chalet is very cosy and neat and has really good beds. The master bedroom has a wonderfull view over the valley. The chalet is very privat and we loved the panoramic terras and hottub with a magnificient view. The owner is very friendly and lives in the valley below. We would definately recommand the chalet and would like to come back (in winter or summer).

Geweldige locatie
Het was een zeer leuke en aangename chalet en dit in een geweldig kader. Na de wandelingen de spieren laten weken in de hottub of sauna en dit in alle rust. Je hebt er alles wat je nodig hebt. De eigenaar Danny staat jou bij met de nodige raad en hulp indien gewenst. Deze vakantiewoning is zeker de moeite om naartoe te gaan indien men op zoek is naar rust en natuur. Dit in om het even welk seizoen.

Sejour inoubliable au calme et en pleine nature
Nous avons découvert ce chalet en plein moi d'aout, et tout de suite goûté aux joies du bain norvégien: eau très chaude, alimentée par un poêle à bois face aux montagnes... Du bois est à disposition, mais nous en avions aussi ramassé lors de nos promenades quotidiennes. La vue, un verre à la main, et le corps dans l'eau, est inoubliable. Le chalet est très beau, bien équipé, avec lave vaisselle et lave linge. Tout était très propre. Pour y accéder, il faut s'engager dans une véritable route de montagne, sinueuse et étroite; on s'y fait, mais n'oubliez pas vos courses en bas, le premier magasin est très loin. En revanche, le calme est absolu... Il y a de nombreuses promenades aux alentours. Ce ne sont pas les sommets des Pyrénées, mais en famille comme nous, c'était parfait. A proximité (enfin à 30 mn...): rafting (super), accrobranches, ballades, et bains norvégiens . le sauna vaut la peine aussi. A essayer en plein hiver ce doit être magique...

Un petit coin de paradis...
Le dépaysement a été total dès notre arrivée... le chalet en bois était superbe, niché dans un coin sauvage avec une vue magnifique, le bain nordique tout chaud nous attendait... dépaysement total! Les enfants ont adoré le gite et ne voulaient plus partir... nous non plus d'ailleurs! En résumé, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Et un grand merci au propriétaire pour son accueil chaleureux...

Une vue incroyable, un lieu tranquille, un chalet mignon, confortable et bien entretenu Le sauna et les bains furent essentiels pour nous remettre des longues marches. Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable avec toutes les conditions meteo pour apprécier sauna et bain norvégien: la neige était au rv et le chalet sous la neige avait encore plus de charme; le chalet par lui même est très confortable, joliment décoré et bien entretenu avec une vie superbe sur la montagne. Toutes les conditions sont réunies pour les vacanciers qui souhaitent être loin du bruit des stations. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et règlo; nous avons apprécié les balades en raquettes et le sauna. On reviendra c'est sûr! et on l'a déjà recommandé à plusieurs personnes;
