Nice Tucson stay and great location

We spent almost a month at Meg's place and were very satisfied! This "mother-in-Law" suite is very spacious, and well appointed. The description accurately explains that there are two levels with steps. The outdoor sitting area is beautiful, with terrific views. The place is quiet and away from traffic. It's also a little tricky to find - look for the driveway between the red mailbox and the end of the guardrail on the north side of River Road.Meg ways easy to get ahold of and always responsive when we had questions. Handy location! We would happily stay again!

Just "OK"

Pros: Good central location, very clean, beautiful views, sufficient plates, mugs, utensils, coffee pot. They also accommodated our dog (crated at night, with us during the day) willingly.Cons: Tough turn to driveway (particularly in the dark), bad water, bad water pressure, bad bed, non functional kitchen (in part because of the water/water pressure). Do I want my money back? No. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

Spectacular and peaceful

What an amazing hideaway! The photos cannot do justice to how beautiful the setting of this apartment is. The lovely upstairs bedroom has windows all around with beautiful views, especially of the sunrise. We appreciated how well-appointed it is, from dishes to hair dryer to laundry room with detergent provided. A few pointers for future guests: The stairs to the bedroom/ living area upstairs are very steep--not a problem except trips to the bathroom downstairs in the middle of the night for some of us! The jacuzzi doesn't seem to be usable; the water comes out orange from the faucet, and we couldn't figure out how to turn the jets on. But the very large bathroom has a nice shower and two sinks. I liked the bed but it was hard on my husband's back (sinks in the middle).

Beautiful views!

The yard and views were just what I wanted. Quiet except for the traffic noise from the road down below. Close to everything in Tucson. We would definitely go back.

Beautiful location in the Catalina foothills. Spacious one bedroom apartment. Decor was a little gaudy. Needs a normal couch and get rid of the heavy ornate drapes.

Amazing location

Bathroom tub is out of order and pretty dirty. Shower was nice, rest of bathroom was nice. Great big windows with great views. Some trash found under bed, not the cleanest upstairs. Overall easy convenient nice location to stay for a short period. Kitchen stocked with supplies. Host very responsive when necessary!

Really spectacular spot

This property is affordable and charming. The location and the views are the best. This is not a brand new updated, modernized property so if you are expecting a dishwasher and fancy kitchen ware then you should go somewhere else. Wonderful open landscape and desert views and a comfortable place to stay with an outstanding outdoor space is what you will get. Thanks Meg, we had a memorable stay.

Truly restful

I spent a lot of time on the patio drinking in the mountain and the view of Tucson. The location feels like you are far from the city, but really, everything you wanted was within a few minutes down the hill. Everything was clean and well stocked.

Better places to stay for the money

The house was clean and convenient to stores and had a very nice outside sitting area with great views of the Catalinas. However the tap water was rusty and we didn't trust it to drink. It had a huge nice bathroom, but the shower water pressure was weak. They need better TV service, was antenna only, so we got a bunch of Mexican channels, the limited English channels had intermittent reception.

Wonderfully beautiful and peaceful

This is a two-story apartment, attached to a large house (unoccupied during our stay). The grounds are a bit neglected, but this didn't interfere with our stay. There's also a small apartment behind the garage that was rented during part of our stay, but we rarely saw the occupants. This was a great location, on top of a hill surrounded by desert, with great views of the Catalina Mountains but minutes from hiking, shopping. The kitchen is well equipped, but there's very little counter space, so meal preparation is challenging. We lived outside under the covered patio during the day--ate all our meals at the picnic table there, and read in the comfortable chairs provided. We didn't use the dining area, with it's somewhat formal dining room table. We loved the upstairs, very comfortable chairs, and bed. We don't watch much TV so the limited channel offerings didn't bother us. There is a shelf of dvd's to watch. We appreciated the electric shutters that allowed us to control the light so the early morning sun didn't wake us too soon. The small desk next to the large picture window looking out to the mountains, was a convenient place to work and stay in touch with family. Very comfortable bed, and very quiet at night. The owner is struggling to remove a colony of bees from the roof over the bathroom, so we had the daily task of picking up dying or dead bees in the bathroom and kitchen. We found the owner to be very responsive to our questions.

Exceeded our expectations

The owners are prompt in responding and everything went smoothly from the initial contact to the departure . This property is private, though there is another rental on the grounds. We felt like we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed the porch and swing in the evenings. Everything was very clean. The linens , towels and kitchen supplies were a high quality . We had everything we needed. Very much enjoyed out time here .
