About this property

Character cottage with log effect fire and beamed ceilings

This small terraced cottage combines a good deal of charm and character with a pleasant and peaceful East Yorkshire coastal village location.
The village is surrounded by open fields with no shortage of interesting walks, and the cottage is located approximately one mile from the sea, offering a sheltered beach at low tide. (Access to the beach is restricted).
The cottage is cosy, comfortable and extremely well equipped with TV, video, CD etc., there are two bedrooms, which can sleep up to four adults, plus cot and for an additional young child. One small, well behaved pet may be accommodated by arrangement. There is strictly no smoking in the cottage itself.
To the rear of the cottage is a pretty, well maintained garden which is safe for children to play with no access to the roads, there is a covered fish pond and patio area and BBQ.
Downstairs in the cottage, the living room features an open brick fireplace, open beamed ceiling. There is a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with electric shower.
The cottage is ideally situated for Birdwatching, Fishing, walking, and for places of Historical interest, and we can offer by arrangement and additional costs, the facilities of a recording studio complete with production engineer, so you can record that long awaited album!

Lovely quiet Yorkshire village
Well kept cottage that has everything that you need, lovely garden to sit out and relax in, and easy parking right outside on your doorstep. Quiet village, that's close to many beaches, as you can't access the beach at Aldbrough due to cliff erosion, which is a real shame. I would recommend to stay at the property if you drive, if you wish to get out and about as transport links to the major cities and towns are not regular. Also due to the cottage being in a rural village the wifi is very poor.

GREAT BREAK AWAY
We loved the holiday in the cottage, it was definitely like home from home, everything was supplied, we did not need to have taken anything , if you have a difficulty with the stairs this is not for you as they are quite steep, but there is a good handrail to hold onto, , be aware the toilet and bathroom are also downstairs, we would definitely reccommend the property and hope to return in the future

Great break
We had a great week, great base for everything we wanted to do. Owners live next door and made us feel very welcome, leaving milk for our arrival and a homemade fresh loaf of bread On one of the days. A very cosy, comfy cottage. Would definitely stay again.

Peace and quiet.
If it's Peace and Quiet your after this is the place to stay! I'm recovering from a Cancer operation and it was my Wife's birthday, so a few days away at rest was in order. On reading the comments in the visitors book, it's easy to note returning custom and now we've stayed I can understand why. Everything you would want for a relaxing break, a great little home from home, attention to detail and planning has covered all requirements. Well done to owners Nick and Helen. Watson enjoyed exploring the area, no problems in recommending your Cottage to anyone. Cheers Rick and Sue

A cosy well equipped cottage.
We enjoyed our stay although the weather was not very kind to us. Helen and Nick were friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed with the area.

Fabulous Home from Home Cottage
Stayed at the cottage with my partner and 3 Bassett Hounds, we absolutely loved it! Cottage is a real home from home, very comfortable through out and tastely decorated in keeping with the cottage theme. Owner Helen and partner Nick are a lovely couple, there to greet you and show you round the cottage, always at hand and ready to help if needed. Upon arrival, there is the added touch of a small jug of milk in the fridge, freshly baked loaf and 6 fresh free range eggs. Garden is lovely and a real sun trap, very private and quiet, we highly recommend this cottage to anyone, especially if you want a quiet idealic holiday, with lovely walks close by, & only a few miles from Hornsea. Look forward to staying again next yr! 🙂
