Lovely cottage in a lovely location
Thankyou Cyril and Linda for letting is stay in your lovely cottage and for being so helpful. Having access to a big garden lawn was a big bonus especially for our dogs. And the views across the village and countryside were splendid. We would certainly like to come again!

Beautifully furnished apartment with extensive equipment (thank you also for the nice welcome gift). Great base for many trips to the Jurassic Coast, Cornwall and many beautiful landscaped gardens and towns. Easy check-in and very nice support from the hosts. Perfect little cottage
Plough cottage was beyond our expectations. It was clean full of character and has a wonderful big garden for the dog to explore. The sheep and lambs in the field next door were an added bonus to sit and watch. Being so rural gave a great chance to do some star gazing which we cant do in the city. Kitchen is well equipped and oven cooker was a relief as the local pub was closed on the Sunday. We will most certainly look to return one day.

Lovely old cottage beautifully updated
Two of us and our collie stan had a lovely break in September. Everything you need is there. Lovely village - try the fabulous curries cooked by a local Indian lady. Enjoyed the walks around the village and the home made jams etc being sold opposite the local pub. Millers cafe and farm shop was fab, we took our dog and had coffee there. Went to both local pubs but must say they weren’t our cup of tea really, the new inn is very nice but very modern inside - we like old traditional pubs, found one in Dalwood which was only a few miles away, lovely old thatched pub in a little village. Food very good. All in all a really good break, accommodation is fabulous and helen popped in to see us. Would highly recommend this cottage and it’s location.

Relaxing stay, amazing property
Wonderful time in a property which has been really well thought out. There was everything the two of us and our dog needed. Beautiful garden to relax in, with lovely shade which was much appreciated in the stunning weather we were fortunate to have. Our dog Whiskey loved her trip to the seaside at Sidmouth and meeting the donkeys at the Donkey Sanctuary. Thank you so much Helen for an amazing stay and thinking of everything.

Top-Of-The-Line Experience!!!
Our stay in Plough Cottage could not have been better! If you are considering a stay in Devon, do yourself a favor and book your stay here. The location is perfect; you stay in the quaint village of Kilmington, while being close enough to the A35 to make day trips super convenient. We found there are plenty of local options for groceries, pubs & restaurants- both in Kilmington and nearby Axminster. The highlight of our stay was the cottage itself. It could not be more perfect. It was not just clean, but IMMACULATE! Take it from someone a bit on the OCD side about cleanliness. It was as if we were the first guests to ever occupy it. Even the windows were spotless. There were no unpleasant odors. The bedding was clean and fresh, as were the towels. The cottage is cosy, tastefully decorated and is not cluttered. There is plenty of storage and hangers. The kitchen is well supplied with just about everything you could need, including a good-quality knife set. A washer and dryer are conveniently available in a separate building for all guest to use, along with a iron and board. Each cottage also has a dedicated parking space. The grounds and garden are lovely and we enjoyed waking up to the sheep in the adjoining fields each morning. A perfectly idyllic setting! Helen and her charming family live on-site and we had the good fortune to meet them all. They made us feel welcome and at home, and kindly gave us recommendations on local points of interest. We are from the U.S. and spent three weeks in the U.K., and we can unreservedly say that our week at Valley Farm was by far the highlight of our experience! We would highly recommend booking a stay to friends (or anyone, for that matter!) you will not be disappointed!

Spotlessly clean, well equipped and cosy
A lovely cottage for two people. Comfortable, warm, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Has nice views of garden and country side. Good position for visiting places in east Devon and West Dorset. Friendly owners who care about getting things right for their customers.

Perfect cottage in beautiful surroundings
Just spent a week in Plough Cottage and what a fantastic week we have had. Helen and Mike have thought of everything to make your stay here perfect. Cottages are beautifully furnished and in spectacular surroundings. You don't have to travel far to see some great places .... Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth. If you want a relaxing stay in Devon, look no further.

Beautiful immaculate cottage. Just perfect.
We had a wonderful long weekend staying here. The cottage has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is so beautiful and immaculately clean. It is so well equipped and has everything you need. Helen was the perfect hostess and thought of everything to make our stay relaxing and very enjoyable. We very much hope to return and recommend this holiday cottage to everyone! Don't hesitate to book!

A delightful, characterful cottage set in lovely gardens.
Situated in a friendly village, the recently refurbished cottage is furnished to a very high standard with modern fittings and equipment and quality furnishings throughout while maintaining the character of the building; it was spotlessly clean on our arrival. The owners are very friendly and helpful and have obviously made every effort to provide all you could possibly want to make your stay most enjoyable. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio overlooking the extensive gardens, and walking in and around the village and also exploring further afield. There is a good farm shop in the village, pubs with catering and several other good eating places in surrounding villages. There are good local walks of up to six or seven miles and we saw a wide variety of bird-life, including kingfishers and a white egret, and were told where to see otters - although we didn't. We plan to return as this is such a top quality cottage and we can highly recommended Plough Cottage to you.

As good as it gets!
Gold Standard! I've spent 30 years + enjoying many cottage rental holidays & in that time I've enjoyed the good & not so good. Plough Cottage is without equal. It's very clear that 'high quality' is the watchword that drives Helen's business. The furnishings are of top quality, similarly the decor and kitchen equipment. Bed & bedding is of the same quality. Just as importantly the cottage was spotlessly clean. Helen and her husband are very kind & thoughtful hosts, happily sharing local knowledge which helps to enjoy the holiday. This is the Gold Standard for cottage holidays to which other owners should aspire to match. Many thanks from two happy customers.

I'm lively, hard working and love to have fun, happy dressing up or in a pair of muddy wellies! (I also love playing the piano)
I enjoy village life, spending time walking the dogs and good food. River Cottage HQ is only a few minutes away and occasionally we treat ourselves to one of their delicious lunches. Yum.
(A little bit of fossil hunting creeps into my spare time too).
My mottos? We only live once, do unto others as we would like done to us, and endeavor to be kind, thoughtful and forgiving.
