The Colosseum garden

This charming and cosy apartment is located in the most exclusive Rome historical centre, in a perfect location to visit Rome major touristic sites: the Coliseum, Nerone's Domus Aurea, the Basilica of S. Clemente, the Foro romano.

It is a comfortable 1 floor flat for 4 to 6 people, there is a lovely living room with a double sofa bed, two charming double bedrooms,with 2 single beds each (both can become double)one in the basement, the other one near the livingroom, a very modern bathroom with a comfortable shower and bathtub, a fully equipped kitchen with a table good for 6-8 persons, from there you can go in a fresh and sunny terrace-garden where you can relax in the evening after having walked all day long, or sun bath at lunch time if you decide to go back home for a siesta.....
Air conditioned but frankly speaking there is not much need of it since the rooms of the old roman palaces are fresh in summer and worm in winter, the ceiling is made of original terracotta 'voltine' recently restored and the floor is also in terracotta. It was completely renovated in Feb. 2012. wifi internet 24h free

Restaurants: Luzi and le Naumachie in Via Celimontana, Quattro e quattr'otto and the pizzeria I rioni in Via dei Santi quattro, La taverna dei Quaranta in Via Claudia. All walking distance!

Great location, great apartment

We (family of 5 - 3 children aged 14, 11 and 9) spent 4 nights in this apartment last week. It was one of our favourite places to stay in our 5 weeks away. The location was great - Colosseum at the end of the road, we walked to the Vatican and close to the Metro station. The actual apartment was lovely and was on the ground floor which made luggage handling very easy. Very spacious with comfortable beds. Good wifi. Very quiet. Alessandra and her assistance were both very helpful. They organised a taxi to the airport for us and as we had a late flight we were able to leave our luggage at the apartment until we had to leave for our flight. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone with children and we would definitely stay again.

Perfect Place to Begin

We are so grateful and happy with our stay at the Colosseum Garden. It was the perfect place to start our family's Italy adventure. Our host arranged airport transport and greeted us at the apartment upon arrival, even making us a cup of coffee and making wonderful suggestions for places to eat and things to see. The apartment turned out to be in what I look back as my favorite part of Rome, fa little off the beaten path so quieter, and filled with delicious cafes and a nearby grocery, as well as the most incredible Basilica of St Clement. The beds were comfortable, wifi worked great and the apartment was filled with such old incredible character. If I ever am so lucky as to go back to Rome, I would definitely stay here again!! Grazie!!!

Amazing Location

Wonderful location

Great spot

Excellent location, charming flat, superb communication with host. Not sure if I misunderstood the listing but I had thought based on pics that there were three bedrooms in addition to a living room, but the living room is the third bedroom with just a pull out couch.

Great location and felt safe

Overall this was a great location with a wide variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Comfortable and quiet stay for my family with 3 teenage boys. Would highly recommend to friends and family to stay there.

Great place to stay

We were in a neighborhood convenient to buses to get around Rome, and with good restaurants, a small supermarket a few blocks away, and a fruit stand nearby. It's near the Coliseum, which is a very popular place for tourists, but our neighborhood was quiet and relaxed. It was near many sites that we wanted to see, so we did a lot of walking, which is our favorite way to see a city. The apartment was spacious and comfortable with a nice kitchen and a lovely garden just outside. The beds were comfortable, and everything seemed very clean. It was really nice having a tub to soothe ourselves after all our walking everyday. The weather got surprisingly warm while we were there in early April, but the house stayed comfortable even in the heat outside. There was also efficient heating and cooling if we needed it. It was quiet and comfortable, and we're glad we chose it, would do it again the next time we visit Rome. Maria Alesandra was very nice and helpful. I realized a bit too late that we should have set up What's App before we arrived to make communication quick and easy, but it all worked out well.

Colosseum Stay

This was a nice property very close to the Colosseum and other historical attractions in Rome. It's basic, but comfortable, and the host was helpful and easy to communicate with. Overall a great stay!

Great apartment

Great location with lots of restaurants close by for dinner options at night. We spent a week here as a launching point for touring Rome and the location worked out really well. Apartment was nice, had everything we needed. AC worked really well, we have 2 kids and 1 stayed down in the downstairs bedroom and the other in the pull out couch. The TV was alittle temperamental but we weren't there to watch tv. There is a grocery store about a block and a half down that we were able to get basics for the week. Overall, great for the price and location. Great dealing with the owner, answered all of our questions.

Incredible apartment!

We already miss our home away from home in Rome; it is a gorgeous apartment with two levels (the kids' room is down some quaint stairs) with a lovely courtyard to dine full of fragrant flowering blossoms. It was really spacious and just beautiful. The location is amazing, just a few blocks from the Colosseum and a ten second walk to several delicious restaurants. A 24 hour grocery store is just down the street. Alex is a wonderful host who was so welcoming and helpful. We locked the key in the apartment, and even though it was a holiday and she was out of town celebrating she drove all the way back to Rome to let us in, which was so nice because my kids were freaking out. You will not regret staying here!

Great Apartment Near the Colosseum

Alessandra was a wonderful host who provided us with lots of recommendations and was always available when needed. The stay is very close to the Colosseum but is a few streets from the main road so it wasn't too noisy from all the tourists. We would stay here again!

Nous avons été reçu merveilleusement bien lors de notre arrivée. Alexandra nous a accueillie et nous communiquer plein d'informations. Le logement est vraiment bien situé à 2 pas du Colisée et tout autre monument ainsi que de nombreux restaurants. En 1 semaine nous avons pu faire beaucoup de visites a pieds du fait de la proximité de tous les sites. Nous remercions encore Alexandra et nous serions tres heureux de séjourner à nouveau au "au Jardin du Colisée"; Remerciements. Agnès et toute la petite famille

une semaine parfaite

Une semaine à Rome en famille. L'appartement est pour nous parfaitement placé, proche des vestiges antiques et à environ 30 minutes de marche du centre historique. De nombreux restaurants à proximités très sympas pour dîner. Des parcs également dans le quartier qui permettent de prendre une pause au calme et au frais en fin de journée. La communication avec Alessandra a été parfaitement fluide et efficace.

Rome at it's best...

Friendly welcome, nice flat, low noise, no traffic, the most interesting points are reachable within 5 to 50 min by feet, lot of restaurants and cafés nearby, Carrefour is 5 min ahead. When nessesary bus and metro are also nearby. If you have a Rome Pass you can take the Hop on - Hop off - Bus for about 48 hours from Colosseum-station to reach the most important POI around. Bytheway, I think such a pass is recomended. Take the Vatikan-museum-tour, then you are Afterwards automatically within the Dome. If you want to go upstairs take the Line for the lift. That's it. Enjoy Rome at Alessandras place and have nice days!

Neat apartment down the road from the Colosseum

We have just spent a week in Rome living in this great apartment. There are walkable distances in every direction to anything you want to experience in the city. It’s also right next to the subway and the moment you step out the door, you see the Colosseum right down the street. The apartment in itself is clean and comes with a discreet kitchen, bathroom and living room. The feature we enjoyed the most was the lovely patio. The only downside to the apartment was the door less rooms both downstairs and to the living room. That made the nights a little more noisy than necessary. With that being said, we had an amazing time and do recommend!

Best host and location

Cannot best this location. Close to everything, including the mervelous San Clemente Basilica 1/2 block away. Safe area full of restaurants and farm stands. Alessandra is a wonderful host and helped us a lot with suggestions, instructions. Very pleasant stay.

Perfect location

A very short walk to the Colosseum, so very well situated. We used the two bedrooms and the living room sofa bed for my son as we needed 3 sleeping areas for the 4 of us. The garden porch was lovely in the afternoon and the kitchen was well equipped for what we needed (mostly coffees). Great local restaurants and a really nice atmosphere in the area. Would recommend this property, it really was a great place to stay.
