Welcome to Ocean Beach, where the sun sets on San Diego!

This bright and breezy beach bungalow whispers "summer" all year round and is a short walk to beaches, shops, restaurants, and weekly farmer's market (Wednesday). Your home away from home lends itself to a relaxing and fun visit, vacation, or extended-stay in the youthful and energetic city of San Diego.

This home features a designer's touch, smart space planning, abundant light, and is tastefully furnished - offering all the elements of classic coastal living, inside and out. The Garden Cottage features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and will sleep 4 guests for true hospitality.

Relax and enjoy the private and gated rear courtyard with comfortable loungers and hammock. Front porch offers outdoor dining, and garden and sunset views. A spacious open living room includes space for working remotely, 43" flat-screen smart-TV, and complimentary high-speed internet, WiFi and Netflix. The bedrooms are super-comfy and bed linens are plush and cozy. The kitchen offers dining for 4, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked for today's cooks and family meals. Other amenities include:

Short and sweet stay

Garden cottage was the perfect spot for our short stay in San Diego. It was charming, clean, and had everything we needed to guarantee a relaxing stay. The gardens were stunning and we loved relaxing in the back yard. Rodney was so easy to work with! We are all looking forward to another stay in the future.

Wonderful property

Property was great! Comfortable, cozy and had everything we needed. Washer and dryer took a long time to do a load of laundry but got the job done nonetheless. Rodney was responsive to texts and offered up suggestions on dining when asked. No grill or fire pit like listed unless it was tucked away where we didn’t see. Wasn’t important enough to ask about though. Didn’t impact our stay. Ocean beach is nice but it’s a little drive time wise to the nicer beaches for families. Would stay again for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay at Point Loma, very nice neighborhood. We had everything we needed. The only thing I would change is an hour later check out time and more hand soap.

Wonderful place to stay

We stayed as a family of 4 and enjoyed the abundant space inside and outside the Farm House. Rustic charm aplenty. Easy to get to and from, whether you come from SLO or Pismo Beach. We had one request during our stay, and Chris the property manager was very responsive. Definitely would recommend a stay at the Old Edna Farm House!

Amazing Host and Fantastic Location

Rodney is the best host I've ever worked with! He is responsive, helped address every concern or need, provided local recommendations, and even helped us after our stay when our travel was delayed due to weather. The house is great :) It's exactly as pictured and we really enjoyed how bright the space was. We were withing walking distance of nearly everything and even had a view of the water. Super happy to have stayed and we will definitely stay at one of Rodney's properties again!

Beautiful, cozy cottage by the Sea

This cottage was cozy, clean, and smartly furnished. Our family enjoyed the short walk to Sunset Cliffs and OB. We ventured out every day early to enjoy bagels and coffee in town or breakfast and to enjoy the beach. The grounds were a succulent paradise and everything felt zen. Our family will remember our time and memories made at the cottage for years to come!

Great little beach cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy beach cottage. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The outdoor space was nicely kept and perfect for lounging. The house is located a short walk to the seaside cliffs -- a perfect spot to take in the views of the ocean or get in a scenic walk or jog. The neighborhood is residential and during our stay was quite quiet (you'll hear and see planes passing overhead, but they never bothered us). It's also just a short walk to neighborhood restaurants and a quick drive to groceries, etc. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great Home Base

This was our first visit to San Diego. We loved this little place, quiet location but close to town. 20 minute or less drive to many attractions. Clean and comfortable.

Great garden and beach access

This was the perfect location for our family of four. It was equidistant between two different and unique beach experiences (sandy Ocean Beach and rocks and tidepools at Sunset Cliffs). The backyard garden is a peaceful retreat. Everything is clean and the kitchen is well equipped with utensils, pots, pans, and spices. The beds were very comfortable.

Cottage close to Ocean Beach

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage. Everything we needed was provided in the Garden Cottage. Only a 10 minute walk to restaurants and shopping in Ocean Beach. We would definitely stay at the Garden Cottage again.

Exactly what we needed

House was exactly as described. It’s in a great residential neighborhood close to everything you could need. You can see the ocean from the front yard if you’re tall enough. There’s no AC but plenty of fans available. We happened to be there the hottest week of the summer with a high if 82:). Rodney was very communicative. The house had everything we needed which was helpful since we were there only a few days to visit our daughter. The back yard provided a wonderful spot to work in the morning. The landscaping on the entire property was quite impressive and beautiful. We will definitely stay again when we visit San Diego!

Almost Perfect

Pros: - Randy is a great communicator and instructions were clear & easy - Neighborhood & property are beautiful - House is well supplied including beach gear for kids & adults - About 15-20 min from downtown, Balboa Park & SD Zoo, Mission Beach - OB is a fun place to hang out with nice beaches, some surf, lots of great shops & restaurants. Things to Know - Don't run the laundry overnight or while home as the machine is very loud - This is right in the take-off path for the SD airport & flights begin leaving at 6am. The planes are very loud so keep the windows closed & bring earplugs. The sound wasn't bad that way, but the house can be stuffy/warm so use the fans. - We stayed 4 nights and only found parking on the street twice. Luckily that was when we checked in & out so it was easy to unload/load the car. We were there over July 4th holiday so maybe parking isn't always that bad, but we usually had to park on a cross street. - The front house is pretty close so depending on the group & their volume you may be able to hear each other with the windows open. - Suggestion for the house would be to put extension cords behind the bed since there are no nearby outlets. - The house is beautiful & comfortable, but the bathroom stands out as being outdated & small. Everything works, just don't expect the appearance to match the rest of the house. We very much enjoyed our stay!

What makes this property unique

The Garden Cottage sits in the residential neighborhood of Ocean Beach (OB) - between Sunset Cliffs and the OB business district. The cottage is close enough to stay connected to the local scene (walk to the public beach, restaurants, dining and shopping) but far enough away to enjoy quite relaxation, sounds of splashing waves, and the ease of on-street parking - often right in front of the cottage.

OB is a low key beach community filled with flair and personality. Said differently, OB offers the pitch perfect throw-back groovy vibe of a vintage Southern California beach town, coupled with friendly locals, great dining, and a vibrant beach and surf scene.

The Garden Cottage sits two blocks from the coastline and secluded beaches, and is a short 5-20 min stroll to shops, restaurants, entertainment, and the public beach - offering lifeguard-supervised swimming and surfing areas, restrooms, and showers.

The Garden Cottage is also centrally located and a short 5-15 min drive to most area Universities, Sea World, Downtown/Convention Center, and Balboa Park - the nation's largest urban cultural park.
