About this property

Travel in style in the heart of Silver Lake.

Our newly remodeled home away from home is everything you need and more. Newly available to the short-term rental market in January 2015, all the furniture is brand new and super comfortable!

The house is located on a quiet, tree-lined residential street in a serene, peaceful setting with a huge tree-filled backyard. Walking distance from Sunset Boulevard where you’ll find the best restaurants in town along with coffee bars, unique shopping experiences, and local flavor. With views of the Silver Lake neighborhood off your private front deck, you'll feel like you're in LA, but still have the peace and tranquility of your own place. Lots of light, large open living area with dining room and bedroom.

Everything you could want in an upscale hotel and much more, the bungalow was specifically designed with discerning travelers in mind. Stylish, modern, peaceful and comfortable, the house is fully equipped from living space to kitchen to bed and bath. And it's listed and managed by the property owner, so no fears of being "caught" by the landlord.

The living room sectional pulls out to a comfy full-sized bed for guests. A new 40” flat screen TV is equipped with satellite service and hundreds of channels. No need to miss your favorite shows while you’re out of town; set them to record on your DVR, where you’ll also find plenty of movies stored for nights at home. Or flip over to Netflix or HBOGo and watch on demand to your heart’s content.

The newly updated kitchen includes an extra large fridge, dishwasher, stainless steel appliances, new microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, food processor, Calphalon cookware, and every other kitchen amenity known to man. All brand new as of January 2015.

The central heat and air conditioning system is brand new as of May, 2015 and you'll find it comes in VERY handy, especially during the summer months. The new system is also equipped with an air purification system, a welcome feature for those with pesky allergies.

As frequent travelers ourselves, we understand the importance of a good night’s sleep in an unfamiliar environment. The queen sized Mitchell Gold mattress is as comfortable as they come, and protected by a zippered cover against particles that can trigger allergic responses. Blackout shades provide plenty of excuses for sleeping in, and all bed linens are luxury, high thread count 100% cotton. You'll find two down-filled pillows and two down-alternative pillows on the bed, along with a fluffy down duvet. There's also an extra down duvet for guests, along with a down-alternative coverlet for those allergic to feathers or down.

The bathroom includes everything but your toothbrush -- a full-sized tub and shower with salon-quality shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, lotion, and designer towels. And two thick, new terrycloth bathrobes as well.

The full sized washer and dryer are stocked with brand name laundry soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets.

The best part? No one else's STUFF to contend with. The house is all yours -- you won't find anyone's bills piling up in the corner, or nasty shoes stacked in the closet. The house is 100% guest-focused, and designed to be your home away from home.

Walking distance to Sunset Junction - Experience what it’s like to live in the trendy, artistic neighborhood of Silver Lake, walking distance to dozens of restaurants, Sunset Junction, the Silver Lake Farmer’s Market, and the famous Silver Lake Reservoir. Bike ride or short car ride away from movie theaters and several grocery stores. And more coffee and lunch spots than you'll have time to explore, no matter how long you're here.

Itching for a celeb sighting? Check out the Hollywood Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings, or take a stroll around the world-famous Grove shopping area.

Centrally located - Only a 10 minute drive to Hollywood, downtown LA, LA Live, Staples Center, Disney Hall, Universal Citywalk, Dodger Stadium, the Grove, and Griffith Park. Beverly Hills is about 20 minutes & Disneyland is about 40 minutes away. Beaches are a quick 30 minute drive via freeways with the 101, 5, and 10 freeways easily accessed.

Silver Lake contains some of the most famous modernist architecture in North America. Known as the Greenwich Village of the west, Silver Lake offers unique boutiques and restaurants, a beautiful reservoir (with running path and dog park), and a Tuesday and Saturday farmers market. It is the center of the indie rock scene of LA and is an eclectic neighborhood attracting creative people, artists, musicians, and environmentally conscious businesses.

We loved the place so much, we're looking forward to coming back
From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed, the place was easy to find, clean and there was even a welcome hamper of delicious goodies waiting for us. It was greatly appreciated especially after a long flight. The bed was comfortable, the area was spacious and for someone like me who loves to cook it was great to have a well stocked and operational kitchen to let me cook and really make our stay memorable. The house is in a great neighbourhood and a close walk to some really good cafes and restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone. A fabulous place and Stacey is a wonderful host.

Comfortable stay in a great location
Loved my stay at Stacey's property. Very private and quiet, yet walking distance to so many great restaurants and shops. Also super easy access to the 101 if venturing outside of Silver Lake, and no problems with finding street parking either. All in all a wonderful stay and I am looking forward to coming back sometime!

Cozy and Wonderful
We needed a lovely place for a high profile client to stay that is close to our working location just outside of downtown LA and this place was exactly what we and our client was looking for. Not too far from a lot of great hiking spots. The place even has a nice and quiet area in the back to enjoy a cup of coffee and quiet contemplation in nature. Stacey was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend!

This Place has Nearly Everything
Stacey was great to work with. She ensured we had a very easy check in by providing every detail we needed electronically prior to arrival. She was very interested in ensuring things were going well for us by messaging us when we arrived, and she was easy to contact in the event we needed assistance. The house has everything you could want. The welcome basket was so lovely to find when we arrived. It was very clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is related to a few issues that we encountered. We had to drive the streets searching for parking 5 out of 7 nights and ended up parking up a super steep street around the corner most times. There is a two car garage on site and a driveway, but you are not allowed to use them. Our experience was that if we got home after 8 PM we were out of luck for parking. Also, we found the bed was a tad short and sloped toward the head so it wasn't very comfy. The couch, however was fine to sleep on. We did lose power on the morning we left, which a search of Twitter identified as a fairly common occurrence in Silver Lake. It was out for hours, so if you're like me and you need the use of a blow dryer before you leave home, you could find yourself looking like a frightful mess if the power goes out. The dishwasher worked but we noted a burning smell, so we used it only once and washed dishes by hand the rest of the week. The clothes washer and dryer were very good though and we certainly appreciated having use of them. As for the Silver Lake area, I felt it was safe enough. We went out one evening looking for some night life (by car) and found everything closed by 9 or 10. We didn't really take a thorough walk around the neighbourhood, so we likely missed stuff, but we didn't really find anything while driving the area. We did a lot of sight seeing in LA, but Silver Lake wasn't really part of that. It was a good home base for us, however we did need a car to see LA. I found there were too many cars and not enough places to park them, though this was not isolated to Silver Lake.

Excellent place- conveniently located in Silver Lake
When we arrived entry was really easy and we were surprised to see that Stacey had left us a bottle of wine and a bag of coffee- that was a nice touch. Kitchen was fully equipped and we could have cooked a Thanksgiving dinner there if we needed to. I just have positive things to say about this place and we would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful amenities near the center of Los Angeles
We were particularly impressed by the thoughtful amenities, everything from a truly fully equipped kitchen to bathroom scales and a first aid kit. This property has everything you will need for a home away from home. Because we stayed for five days we especially appreciated the washer and dryer. The little house was immaculately clean when we arrived and was easy to keep clean and tidy during our stay. The furnishings are super comfy, including the queen sized bed even if the bedroom is quite small. We were traveling with extended family and wanted proximity for sharing meals and conversation, but also a bit of privacy, so booking both units really filled the bill. Our hostess was very responsive when we communicated with her, though she had thought of everything we might need and more so we didn't need to call on her during our stay. The neighborhood was quiet at night for restful sleep and if you don't mind really steep hills is good for taking walks with a lovely park nearby. If you're venturing out at night just look about for skunks because like in many large cities these little animals come out in residential areas after dark. All in all staying here made being in one of the world's largest most traffic crazy cities feel feel relaxing and fun.

Silver Lake retreat
The property is comfortable and well appointed. This was a better equipped kitchen than I've found at many rentals. And the washer/dryer was a bonus. The owner was lovely and very responsive to a minor repair issue. The neighborhood is fun, although walking may not be an option for those with limited mobility or small children--very steep hills on all sides. The only outdoor space is a sparsely furnished front porch, which might be a drawback in good weather. Since it was chilly out for our stay this was less a factor. The description highlights walks around Silverlake Reservoir but it is drained and filled with dredging equipment--not at all inviting.

Quest for a lung transplant
My brother, sister in law,& I were In LA for testing at CedarSinai in preparation for my brother to be accepted as a lung transplant recipient. Needless to say, a very tense, stressful time. This bungalow was a peaceful, comfortable and homey spot to go at the end of each day of testing. We also can't say enough about Stacey's hospitality. Truly a positive experience for which we are very grateful.

This is about the best little gem Silver Lake has to offer!
We can't say enough great things about this property or the owner Stacey! The bungalow is pure "wonderfulness" nestled in a leafy, quiet street in Silver Lake, and is just a few minutes from the many great things that Los Angeles has to offer. Want to hike? Head off to Griffith Park! Want to do Downtown LA? You're there in 5 minutes! Want to enjoy a great meal? Prowl down Sunset and you have your choice of many, many great eateries. You can walk to several hot spots as well as delicious casual eateries. Heard about Echo Park? Just down the street! The location is pure bliss! This bungalow is so thoughtfully put together and comfortable you will feel right at home the minute you unlock the front door. The kitchen is roomy and well-equipped to cook for a family, the separate dining room is a treat to have, and the living room has furniture that is soooo comfortable! The electronics work A+ too. We spent almost 3 weeks here visiting family, grandchildren, and the sights, and we now call it our "home away from home"! We cooked, relaxed, loved the view from the front deck, and enjoyed our friends, kids and grandkids--and this property is the perfect setting to do all of this. Stacy is so easy to work with and so attentive! A pleasure to know she is just a phone call away! By the way, the bungalow is so well stocked with necessities that we didn't need to ask for anything. And it's sparkling clean! Be sure to read the property description to learn about all the goodies that are too numerous to mention here. We have reservations to return in a few months and look forward to another great stay. Thank you, Stacey, for this lovely property--a true gem!

Cozy cottage in silver lake
The property was convenient even without a car. The "Yummy.com" market was an easy walk and there were several restaurants nearby as well. The cottage was spotless and comfy. It was relatively quiet even with the significant helicopter traffic overhead. I would definitely return on my next visit.

Impeccable
This was really an impeccable experience. The place is clean, more spacious than expected, and beautifully designed. The owner handled every part of the stay professionally. Amenities were plentiful, and many things were higher end (shampoos, etc). I could tell there was focus on the details to ensure an exceptional experience, including the complimentary snacks and coffee. It's the closest vrbo can get to a 5 star experience. I wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Cool neighborhood, terrific place, terrific landlord!
We just spent a great month in L.A., and were lucky to have chosen Stacey's place to stay. Described as a duplex, but really is a stand-alone house, very private but open and airy, with a front deck looking out on the very green lower Silverlake neighborhood. Very well furnished (see the photos!), kitchen is well-provisioned for cooking, and the brand-new landscaping is very SoCal... very nice. We highly recommend Stacey and her place, enjoy!

Excellent location for exploring L.A.
Our stay at Stacey's house was perfect and an excellent location for exploring L.A. We felt like locals living in the Silver lake neighborhood. Everything we needed was available in the house for our three week stay with our daughters. She was even nice enough to allow us to ship a couple bags ahead of time and had them waiting for us when we arrived. I would definitely recommend staying at Stacey's.

Gold star living in Silver Lake!
I would highly recommend this property while staying in L.A. We had all the comforts of home. It was exactly as it was advertised…comfortable, centrally located, quiet neighborhood, easy walking distance to cafés/coffee shops etc. Stacey was a great hostess and truly believes in pampering her guests. If you are heading out to L.A. I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

Impeccable
Our stay in Stacey's bungalow was perfect way. The house is on a pretty, quiet street but is also minutes away from the best of what Silver Lake has to offer. The furnishings are beautiful and comfortable (the bed is amazing!) and she thought of everything we could possibly need for our visit. The kitchen is better equipped than ours at home and the front deck is the perfect spot for an evening beverage. As a hostess, Stacey was conscientious and kind - there was even a welcome basket waiting for us upon arrival. I highly recommend this spot.

Gorgeous and Tranquil Retreat in Silver Lake!
I've stayed in countless airbnb/homeaway properties all over the world, and I have to say Stacey's place is one of those that just stands out for its good vibes and beyond-comfortable amenities, topped off by amazing ease of communication and convenience of location. We will definitely be back to the bungalow, which Stacey has newly renovated and put together with every consideration in mind. It's always a good sign when the tactile and sensory things a guest interacts with (linens, towels, bath products, lighting, colors on the wall) have been very carefully considered, and Stacey has appointed every room with these extra-luxe touches so that you can zen out easily (and never want to leave the lush and cozy bed). The house is one of two twin bungalows, separate, with its own sunny deck perched high atop the street. Open the windows to let breezes flow through all day. The Silver Lake neighborhood just cannot be beat and is perfect for exploring on foot or by car, with a zillion things you love nearby (coffee, food, movie theaters, etc etc). The home itself is wonderful, and has that hard-to-find balance of immaculately clean/just spartan enough/super stylish yet unfussy and cozy, and is perfectly setup for your relaxation. It's rare that a place feels like a real home you can 100% settle into right away, but this place has it, and is set up beautifully as if every nook and cranny has been thought about and positioned just for you. Everything you could possibly want or need for a short or long term stay is thought about for you, and Stacey is an awesome, communicative host. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!!

Host profile image
I love to travel and explore new places, chipping away at that bucket list one city at a time. I'm an avid home design fan, and believe our surroundings go a long way in dictating our peace of mind. I love throwing dinner parties in the backyard and getting together with friends, and I love being a host. I was born and raised in Southern California, and am grateful to live in such a beautiful place. I look forward to making your stay a memorable one!

Why they chose this property

Two identical bungalows share the same lot, but they aren't connected by any walls. Both share a lovely backyard with shade trees, great for Southern California evenings.
