A beautiful, quiet and well-maintained one-bedroom apartment overlooking the rooftops of Lisbon. The host could not have been more welcoming, offering many good tips for enjoying a long weekend in Lisbon. It’s an excellent neighborhood, central and lively with many choices for great food and a bit removed from the most crowded tourist areas. All in all, impeccable.
When looking for a place to stay in Lisbon, look no further! You will find a wonderful apartment, a fantanstic rooftop terrace, incredible views and you will be perfectly located near all points of interests. We had a perfect time and plan to come back!
My wife and I stayed for 5 days in Lisbon. The condo was perfect for the trip. From the new Aldi (a 5min walk) to the public square with drinks, food and coffee this was a perfect location for our trip.
The property is clean and well kept. Therese was a great host and always willing to help with any questions.
We'd definitely come back to this location on our next trip to Lisbon.
This was a beautiful property and so close to the excitement. Therese was wonderful to coordinate with and was very responsive. The home is on the top floor with steep steps to climb, but I viewed this as part of the adventure. My boyfriend carrying the bags though- not so much :-). But it was fine and we made it with no issue.
There is no AC, but we slept with the beautiful windows open and had a lovely breeze throughout the day/night. The property has all of the basic amenities you need for a beautiful stay in Lisbon. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at Therese’s fabulous apartment. We got used to the steep stairs but the reward of the stylish and large apartment made up for it. We had everything we needed - comfy furniture and b d, well equipped kichen including a washing machine and a lovely bathroom. Therese was very fast in responding to any questions we had and we loved the area with local restaurants and proximity to downtown.
The apartment was perfect for our stay in Lisbon.
It is comfortable and well equipped.
The neighborhood is lovely - has anything you could need.
We would happily return to this exact spot.
This property meet our expectations -- location, space, terrace view of Lisbon, cleanliness, and more. We hope to return another time. The property manager was very helpful with information and to work around our flight schedule logistics.
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely apartment. The terrace has beautiful views across the rooftops to the river. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. We loved the neighborhood. It is on the top (European 4th) floor of the building, with 4 flights of steep narrow steps (and some steps within the apartment)
We had a wonderful time in Lisbon. The apartment has all the amenities we needed for our stay. Fully stocked kitchen with all the necessities. We spent most of our time out on the deck since the weather was fantastic. As mentioned in previous posts, this is a top floor apartment with amazing views and an incredible deck, the stairs to get to the top floor are extremely steep, pack lightly and just wash clothes while you're here.
I enjoyed our stay in this apartment, great views and a lovely large balcony where we sat each evening. It is within walking distance to many sights and tourist attractions. Even though it is uphill to get home, the metro is close by as well as the bus and trams.
The host was helpful and left many tips for local activities.
I hope to be back one day.
It is well located property in the heart of Lisbon, Balcony has loverly views and it well decorated. Therese was really helpful throughout.
Although definitely heed her advise about booking restaurants. :-)
Good location, well appointed apartment. Renter should know stairs are steep and uneven so be careful. Also ceilings are low so be careful not to hump head.
This was the perfect apartment for us in Lisbon. If I were to move to Lisbon this would almost certainly be the neighborhood I would choose, and I would want an airy apartment with views from the terrace like this apartment has. The apartment has actual appliances and a kitchen stocked with things a real person would use, and not just the "vacation rental special" from a megastore. Not obvious from the photos is that there are two doors between the bedroom and living area, providing isolation if one person wants to sleep while the other is still awake. Communication with Therese was A+.
This is a beautiful, light, spacious apartment with excellent amenities. Having a balcony was for us, a huge bonus. The city views over the buildings to the river are very special. To get to this beautifully appointed apartment to have the view, does mean many narrow stairs to the top of the building. Difficult with heavy bags, so need to be reasonably fit. Not for the faint hearted, but worth it. We would return. Therese was fabulous and available by phone at all times.
Beautiful flat in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Lisbon
Tastefully appointed, with everything my wife and I needed for a lovely two week stay. It's clear the hosts created this space mainly for themselves and their friends. (They treated us more as guests than customers.) The original artwork, white fabrics, and glass details could easily be trashed, so if you want a place to party, keep looking. On the other hand, if you want a peaceful, well-located base from which to explore Lisbon, as we did, this one is nearly perfect.
Breakfast and nightcaps on the terrace: amazing! The small but highly functional kitchen let us gather ingredients and try our hand at local recipes. Easy laundry. Cozy spots to sit and read. Good light. Everything just worked.
We fell in love with Príncipe Real. Just off Rua da Escola Politécnica, surrounded by great restaurants and unique shopping. Blocks from a strange and wonderful natural history museum. Easy access to the popular tourist spots—but also a relief from them.
We rented a car for day trips: nearby parking is €14/day.
Cautions: This is a four story walkup—not difficult, but I felt a sense of accomplishment each time I reached the top. The bedroom door's low: watch your head. When showering, some water always managed to spray or drip, but blotting it up took only a moment and became routine.
The hosts are a class act. Attentive but not intrusive. Protective but reasonable (we weren't charged for breaking a plate). Genuinely helpful and interested in our wellbeing.
Strongly recommended!
The host is not to blame for the excrement left to broil at the street door by a passerby, but I can’t think of a single pleasant experience in my life which began with so much poop.
Due to character restrictions review highlights:
-Arrived at check-in to no answer (next to poop) on hot day-more than an 1hr wasted trying to get keys.
-Required to pay cash for cleaning though VRBO ad did not disclose required cash payment.
-Required to sign contract waiving all losses-even if caused by host-and agree to French law-Host does not state she abides by Portuguese law.
-Contract includes exhaustive list of things with prices that guests will pay if damaged.
-Request for spare key/door code required 2days of texts-once proved that door bell broken-she relented and provided door code. She also let me copy key-so much wasted time.
-Space is like reviews describe, watch your head into bedroom!
-Clean but crumbs found and sticky kitchen drawer handles-annoying finds when required to pay additional cash for cleaning.
-Bed pillows smelled like wet dog. Friend’s allergies were triggered from pillow must and bacteria-we tried washing some pillows following instructions, but pillows could could not dry fast and smell persisted.
-Low rating is due to time I was require to expend for basic matters (checkin/keys/cleanliness) and how little host valued that effort. In the end, her musty pillows-which she now accuses me for, seem more important to her than all the time she took from my vacation.

No privacy constant nit-picking
We stayed in this property, and the owner would not stop harassing us. She asked to come in for some paperwork in the kitchen and bathroom closets in my absence one time. I told her that would be fine, and she used that permission to grant herself access multiple times. She complained that if we don’t keep the apartment clean she will charge extra for cleaning when we left.(I paid a cleaning fee, and she said this after my clothes were all over the place, because she entered to apartment to inspect it while I was gone, without permission). She complained that my children might of damaged an orange cushion that was “dear to her”, and consistency asked us where the cushion is. (We never saw an orange cushion). She said I damaged the marble on her countertop, when she had placed plastic covers all over the countertop, and very likely it was damaged when we arrived, but she blamed us for the damage, and took from our security deposit. She complained that we dried clothes in the dryer, as opposed to hanging them on the line(which I did, but I got the unit for the amenities, such as the dryer). She was downstairs in the lower unit the entire time, and would ask us to shut the barrier door so she didn’t hear us. Because she was in the lower unit, she had access to the apartment the entire time we were there. We had no privacy, and she tried to nickel and dime us for every little thing, and there was no definable proof that any of the damage that she claimed we made was caused by us. Therese is an awful host, if possible, do not stay in any place that is hosted by Therese.
