A cute country farmhouse

We had a wonderful time at this quaint farmhouse. We spent new years there with our family. We took a short ride to Tweetsie railroad for the children and they had a blast. This is a great place to stay for a couple or an entire family! Thanks for sharing your home with us!!!

Birthday & AppState football weekend

The property is exactly as described. 1920s house, some upgrades with flooring, kitchen & bathrooms. There's 3 firepits (1 gas, 2 wood burning). Tankless water heater so you don't have to worry about running out of water. Gas stove, plenty of pots, pans and baking dishes. Beware of low ceilings if you are over 6 foot. There's no bathroom inside a bedroom so they are both shared. Not sure how comfortable it would be in the warmer summer months. We loved our time here and would definitely consider it again.

Great solace to stay

Planned a father-son fishing weekend with a close friend and his son. This house gave us all a nice comfortable bed, all the amenities of home, and the unforgettable place where we watched our beloved Tarheels beat dook in the Final Four.

Lovely

My family and I stayed here in October 2021 and had a wonderful time! I loved how it was off the main road and the farmhouse is beautiful. There is a home up the hill and a rental beside the farmhouse but there are woods behind the farmhouse, etc. so that didn't bother us. We didn't hear anything! They have a front porch with a swing; as well as a fire pit with chairs, and a covered outdoor seating area with grill. There is the family's bottling plant next to the farmhouse but they have privacy trees planted so honestly it wasn't a big deal to us. It's not like there are trucks going in and out daily! The property is on the family's land which consists of hundreds of acres. It was peaceful and serene and across the road from the house there is a beautiful stream and they have a hammock set up as well as chairs to enjoy and just relax. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. Of course, we had brought our own supplies so we were fine. The kitchen was beautiful with a big gas stove and oven so we enjoyed cooking breakfast and meals when we didn't go out to eat. Loved how close it was to West Jefferson and Boone. We went to West Jefferson a couple times and of course Boone. There is so much to do and unfortunately our time ran out. We had our two small dogs and they were happy! Overall, this place is ideal for my family to stay and hopefully we will be able to come back!

Quaint and charming

We spent the weekend with 4 adults, 4 teenagers and our dogs. The house was charming and quiet. We checked in Friday late afternoon abs the process was very easy. We had a question during our stay and the property manager responded extremely quickly to our question. There is a house and a trailer close to the farmhouse on the property. For us that was not an issue. We hope to be back again next year!

Family of 5 on the Farm

We really enjoyed our stay! We were touring colleges our son and our two younger daughters tagged along. The farmhouse was great, a bed for all of us, very comfy. The kitchen was great and very well equipped, I even baked a birthday cake in it since my husbands bday was during our stay. The trail up to the parkway and to the granview overlook was awesome! We did it really early to catch the sunrise over the mountains...beautiful. Maritza and Eddie were very welcoming and great hosts, along with their doggo Moses! We played cornhole, rode bikes, and hiked around the beautiful property. We will be back maybe to get a Christmas tree next Christmas???

The house was fine. One of the best equipped kitchens ever! The disappointment was that we were looking for a quiet place with no one around. The owners live just behind the house and her son was renovating a building right across the dirt road from the house. So we never felt alone. Except for that factor, the place was great. Good trails for hiking and a great babbling brook!

Charming farmhouse!

We loved this ol farmhouse!!! Although it’s old it has been updated and had lots of character and plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids. The stream out front is peaceful and the kids enjoyed the scavenger hunt around the property. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and even some staples in the cabinet available if needed. Plenty of towels and a washer/dryer. Also available was WiFi, satellite and Netflix. It’s close to Boone and the surrounding areas there as well as West Jefferson and Wilkesboro. It’s not on a steep hill either which was good. There was lots of seating outside and a covered place to sit relax and to grill. We also loved getting to meet Moses the Pup that lives next door. The property manager was friendly, prompt and helpful. Hope to be back soon!

Wonderful Spot - Convenient to Boone and surrounding areas.

This house was a perfect spot for our entire family (parents, children, grandchildren - 9 total) to stay while we attended MerleFest. The house had plenty of room inside as well as wonderful outdoor space. The property had hiking trails of all distances, which were fun to explore. We had everything we needed in the home and the owners were easy to access if/when questions arose. We will be back!

Overall not a bad property! We love the creek and fireplace.

Overall not a bad property. The reasons I marked off- -We were not notified there was construction right outside of their driveway road, which made navigating a little difficult for someone not familiar with the area. -It needed to be dusted badly. The vents were full of dust along with cobwebs in on the walls/ceilings. -The railing at the top of the stairs was missing. It was pretty scary especially with a 4 year old. -There was laundry in the washer & dryer when we got there. -The instructions were not held up. We were told where keys would be and had to search for them instead. -The internet people got rescheduled to come by while we were staying there, which made it very hectic with 6 adults a kid and 2 dogs. The things we loved- 1. The creek sounds, it was so peaceful. 2. The layout of the entire house, our favorite was the fire place. 3. Rachel & Eddie were very sweet and helpful. 4. Eddies Dogs were a joy to have around our dogs. 5. We also loved the living room being decorated for Christmas!

Just as expected.

Perfect get away place - off the beaten path - no traffic coming through all the time - nice sound of running stream always. Great place to relax. The house is just what you'd expect of a 1920's farmhouse, but with modern necessities added.

Charming home in a very convenient location.

My family and some boy scout guests had an awesome weekend at this home. The home is secluded yet very conveniently located to Boone (less than 15 minutes) and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway (just minutes). Food Lion is less than 10 minutes away. The home was very clean and comfortable. The home is quite old yet has all modern conveniences. Loved the gas fire place. Didn't even use the wood burning stove. Great modern kitchen that had a cabinet that was stocked with seasonings and baking goods. The stove is awesome and we put it to good use. The fridge had condiments. All of the bedrooms are very comfortable--most had memory foam mattresses. If you are looking for something to do jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the nearby overlooks with incredible views. Google "Cascade Falls Blue Ridge Parkway" to find the location of a gem of nature. Take a short hike to Cascade Falls from the trail head on Blue Ridge Parkway. Absolutely picturesque--especially when we went during the winter where part of it was frozen. The trail head is only a 10 minute drive from the home. We went sledding on Beech Mountain one day and Skiing in Blowing Rock the next. A memorable weekend for everyone. We are looking forward to coming back. PS, I read a poor review that mentions a bottling plant. Looks like the owner does bottle spring water on the property however we didn't see any activity except for a pretty fountain that I assume is spring fed.

Comfy old house next to water bottling plant...

The older home was surprisingly comfortable. The problem, you won't see in the listing pictures are as follows... Water bottling plant 70 feet from back door (the family bottles spring water found on their property) Eight foot chain link fence with barbed wire separating the yard from the water bottling plant. Monday morning, hustle and bustle of workers, tractor trailer picking up product, and atv being driven all around home as the old house is situated below the family's main home My point is that the listing and pictures sell privacy and seclusion in a mountain setting with a large creek across from house... when in reality, the old house is situated in the middle of a loud "work zone" with a small stream across the road in front of the property. And, to add insult to injury... there are no blinds to in the dining room, kitchen, or living room... where all are completely open during the work day for anyone to pier through. So much for privacy and seclusion.... If you're looking for a rental that you actually want to spend time in for peace, quiet, and nature... this is NOT your place....

Country Farmhouse

My family of 5 stayed at the farmhouse for 4 days. The house is nestled in the middle of a Christmas tree farm with a large creek in front . It is completely equipped with everything you may need. We were greeted daily by the owners dog "Moses" who enjoyed taking us on hikes around the property. It is centrally located to all local attractions as well as The Blue Ridge Parkway. The owners are really nice and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed as well. We will definitely be back!

The stay was pleasant and satisfying.

A couple of friends and I rented the home to get away from school and work for our winter break and absolutely loved it. We plan on coming back in the future due to the close relativity to ski slopes.

A Comfortable Get-away

We just got home from a long weekend in this beautiful Farmhouse. It was a nice get away for our family of 6. The kitchen was great, everything we needed to cook all weekend was provided. The owners were super responsive and friendly. They really made sure we had a great stay. The property has a nice creek that you can easily walk to and several short trails you can walk. If you want a nice day/night out you can travel into Boone in no time. We loved the place and are planning to stay again next year!
