Loved Atrani
We are half way through our two week stay and so happy with our choice. Atrani is the perfect location, just a few steps from this villa you are in the town square and a few more steps you are on the beach. Madddelana and her family are such lovely people and the house well equipped. Amalfi is just a short walk if you want hustle and bustle or catch a ferry. I would much rather stay here than Amalfi. More of a local experience and few tourists. Lovely restaurants to try just a few steps from your door. Lovely views of the sea from the 2 terraces. Some great walks in the area. Would certainly recommend this villa.

'What a find......, you need not look any further!
I stayed with a friend in this wonderful town, Atrani (I wish I had stayed longer!). we arrived and both our phones were not working, we went to the local bar, who were so friendly and helpful, they arranged for Enrico and his Mum, Maddalena to meet us there. Enrico could see that we were exhausted from our journey from Salerno, so carried our bags up into the apartment. The apartment is well equipped! It has a lovely patio where we spent time having meals when we were there or not sight seeing! The apartment is very central to everywhere, fish and vege / fruit markets, just next door to get fresh bread and post office. The piazza has bars and restaurants, you are close to the beach and gelato, close to Ravello (walking distance - a great workout for the fit and want a challenge). I agree with the first reviewer about staying in Atrani rather than Amalfi (it was full of tourists!). We felt very privalleged and special to be staying amongst the Atrani people who genuinely made us feel very welcome! I would love to take my family back here in the near future! Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed, thank you Enrico and Maddalena for a great stay! Kim (NZ)
Casa Lauritano is an excellent choice on the Amalfi coast.
First I must say that Isaia was excellent at helping us not only reserve Casa Lauritano but also provided us with so much useful information as we planned our stay in Atrani. He also arranged our transportation to and from the Naples airport and a trip to Pompeii. Isaia and his partner Linda were very responsive and helpful throughout our entire stay. They helped us with everything from transportation changes to shopping suggestions and restaurant recommendations.
The house is beautiful and the pictures are accurate. You can feel the history of the community throughout the house but it has all the modern amenities you would hope for and was a very comfortable place for our 8 day visit. The linens and towels were top notch and the unit has a washer so you can pack a little lighter and do a load mid-stay. The included breakfast is in the form of “Tickets” that are redeemable for a wonderful breakfast at one of the cafes on the square. We had excellent service from Carolina every morning. There are several other restaurants on the square and each was great. We frequently got an evening coffee and drinks at Caffe Vittoria and by the end of the week felt like regulars.
Amalfi was an easy walk so you can have all of that tourist experience and shopping and then come back to the calm and quiet of Atrani. Also, both the Amalfi beach and the Ravello beach on the other side of Atrani are stone while the Atrani beach is black sand so the most comfortable.
We loved staying in the quiet village of Atrani! Casa Lauritano was in the perfect location, walkable to several restaurants and an easy walk to Amalfi for exploring or hopping on a ferry or bus. The house itself was perfect, very spacious and spectacular evening views! It has a ton of character. Isaia and Linda were so helpful before and throughout our stay with very regular communication, along with assistance with rides, excursions, and even restaurant recommendations. The house had everything we needed and if we ever came back to the Amalfi Coast, this is where we would stay!
Great host, exceptional communication. Host helped setup private transportation via cab + private boat services with local skippers. Hot water didn’t work day 1, but it was quickly resolved.
Cons - Stairs, stairs, stairs. FYI you have to turn the hot tub on in the morning for it to be warm that evening, it’s a very slow heating process + it sits low so the wall blocks the view to the sea when you actually sit down.
Lovely apartment literally 1 min from Piazza Umberto Primo. Maddalena was very good with email comms, then WhatsApp (those using HomeAway, be careful as the default mobile number is with a US code so you can’t ring her unless you change that).
The apartment was huge for me alone - it would be great for a couple, not perhaps as much for a family as the children’s room is literally above the double bedroom, so there’s no privacy. But that’s only a problem if it’s a problem for your family. There’s only one bathroom with a shower - and a WC where there’s a washing machine. The living room is huge and the terraces are lovely. Kitchen was well equipped and comfortable to use. Maddalena even set up a Christmas tree for me.
If you are a light sleeper you may not like the church bells ringing - I woke up to them at 3am and 4am (that’s it) but it seems like they ring every 15 min every hour - do potentially a tough one. As I said, I only heard twice. I didn’t hear a peep from neighbours. Atrani seemed deserted, I hardly saw anyone in town.
The only feedback I gave Maddalena was about the towel - it was way too small for an adult. It was almost face-towel or hand-towel size. For a woman with long hair, not great. I couldn’t even tie it around my body, and I am a size 8. If my husband or son had been in it would have looked like a handkerchief next to them. I read previous feedback saying this too, which is why I am recording it here (no point giving feedback if no one acts on it).
We stayed at Maddalena's property on the last leg of our honeymoon in Italy. It was truly breath taking to arrive at this property. Between the coral pillars, and 3 tiered outdoor patio, this place was a dream. Yes, a stairs are involved but not actually as many as I thought there would be. We had an interesting time getting to the property from the SITA bus from Salerno but Maddalena was flexible in communicating with us to greet us upon arrival. Thank you!!
The home was clean and very welcoming, great location and she was so kind and helpful. Even in the rainy season, it’s a wonderful place to be. Thank you!
We stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon. After traveling through tourist filled Venice and Rome this place was a welcome oasis. In addition to the beautiful roof top deck, it's location in the small town of Atrani is ideal. We were able to relax and enjoy this quiet town and the beautiful beach, but it was just about a 5-10 minute walk if we wanted the touristy hustle and bustle of Amalfi. After visiting places like Positano and Amalfi it was wonderful to go back to this relaxing space. I would definitely recommend it!
My wife and i have have been travelling to Amalfi and Atrani for 4 years. We have stayed at several wonderful properties. This property is the best of all those where we have stayed.
When we first traveled to Amalfi I had no idea where to stay, what town to be in , travel convenience, etc. I wish I knew then about this home. If this is your first trip stop looking, you will not find a better combination of location, beautiful home and a wonderful and responsive owner. Maddalena was an absolute pleasure to work with. She met us in the piazza and took us to the home which is only one flight of steps from the piazza. The home was clean and extremely well stocked for cooking. The decks were perfect for morning or evening dining. also great for sitting in the sun. The photos do not do justice to the home. While there are stairs ion the home they are not an issue .
The location is ideal. The piazza quiet but full of life late into the evening, some of the best restaurants on the Amalfi coast are in Atrani. The public and private beaches are just outside the piazza, the people in the cafes' could not be nice.
I can recommend this property without hesitation ; we will return next summer.
The apartment was excellent for a vacation stay. In a perfect location with easy access to Amalfi and a very nice local square. Maddeline was a great hoist and has a beautiful place especially the roof top deck.

Supplies were limited ie TP PT dish soap, laundry soap etc. We did get them once we asked
Apartment is very convenient to Amalfi, local bus right out front, a great little coffee shop ( best we found) on the beach, a couple small stores, a few restaurants right at the door step. Bus tickets and info store also right there and very helpful.
In regards to comments about stairs, yes there are a lot but if you are going to the Almalfi Coast you will know the terrain is challenging.
Also the comments about noisy neighbours is accurate as well as the church bells but we never had a problem with any of it.
Maggdelana is very sweet and the apartment was worth what we paid and would stay there again

Loved Atrani
We loved our stay in a Atrani. The apartment is right in the center of town, with several restaurants close by, our favorite was Savo. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the two outside decks. We would have coffee in the morning on the lower deck and a glass of wine at night on the upper deck. The bed was comfortable, it was nice to have a washing machine, snd the shower worked very well.
It was a easy walk to Amalfi, through the tunnel with only a few steps on the road.
We took local buses to Positano, Ravello and a boat trip back from Positano.
Maddalena was great hostess offering suggestions for our time on the Amalfi Coast.

Spacious apartment near Amalfi
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Maddalena’s apartment. It was very spacious and just a 10 min walk from the town of Amalfi. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals and the view from the terrace was beautiful. Communication and access to the apartment were easy with Maddalena.

Great Location, But . . . .
We loved Atrani, a quaint little town without the tourist-y hustle and bustle of Amalfi, which is only a 15-20 minute walk up the road. The beach is nice and very close to the property. Maddalena, the property owner was really nice and the flat itself is serviceable, but there are a few things we wish we had known before making our reservation. First, the entry, bedrooms and kitchen/living area are on three different "floors" with very steep spiral stairs in between and there are no handrails. While the property description says it's "wheelchair inaccessible", these stairs were difficult even for someone with only an arthritic hip! Secondly, between the church bells that chime every 15 minutes (24 hours a day) and the incredibly loud neighbors who are up at 6 a.m., we had to wear earplugs to bed. And finally, it's the little things that make the difference. The bath towels provided were so small and tread-bear, they looked more like rags; there was no microwave that we could find; no place to hang the laundry to dry; and we had an ant invasion in the kitchen when we left cookies out. All in all, we can't give this property more than a three-star rating, even with the beautiful location and nice beach.

Incredible town - unique property
We absolutely loved our time in Atrani and this property certainly contributed to our pleasurable stay. The property consists of a number of levels connected by stairways. At the top of the house are an additional 3 outdoor patios, each on higher than the next. The view from all is absolutely amazing with the top rooftop being our favorite hangout. From here you can see the ocean, the surrounding hills and the town of Atrani.
Maddallena obviously takes great pride in this property and it was well maintained and decorated. We particularly liked the columns and rock work accenting the interior stairways.
The villa is well situated in Atrani both to the beach and to the main square.
Atrani had a small town character we loved. By the end of our 3 night stay we were on friendly terms with a number of the locals and had favorite breakfast and dinner spots. The town is only minutes from Amalfi which is full of tourists during the day.
We walked from Atrani to Ravello and back. It is a beautiful hike but does require some level of fitness.
There has been some mention in previous reviews of the church bells which do ring every quarter hour. We quickly got used to them and they became background noise which added to the character of the town but you should be aware of them.
If you are driving a rental vehicle you can drop bags at the villa (or very close to) and park in a parking garage on the main road for $20 EU a day.
In summary, we really enjoyed staying at Maddalena’s place and would highly recommend it.

A pleasant stay in Atrani
Maddalena's apartment, located in a medieval building, has been elegantly modernized, while still retaining architectural elements from the original house. Atrani is a very quiet town with several restaurants, a small grocery store just across the way, an easily accessible beach, and many, many stairs if you wish to explore the upper part of the town (we never made it to the very top!) .Amalfi is much more of a tourist town, but only a 10-15 minute walk away. After visiting some of the crowded towns along the Coast, it was a pleasure to return to the calm of Atrani in the evening (you do hear the church bells striking, but they only add to the atmosphere!). The apartment is very comfortable, although there is an extra cleaning charge if you wish to use both bedrooms. Maddalena very kindly allowed suitcases be left until the afternoon of the day of departure. Grazie ancora, Maddalena!

Great property in Atrani!
The 2 of us loved our visit to Atrani and our stay at this apartment. This apartment is right in the middle of the town square which has four restaurants, a gelato shop, and a couple of little markets that we could buy water, snacks, beer and wine. Outside the square is public beach where you can rent chairs and umbrella for the day. The apartment is clean, nice, and has a double balcony with a beautiful view of the water. It’s an easy and safe walk to Amalfi and a foot workout to Ravello. In Amalfi you can take Ferry’s to Positano, Capri, and other nearby cities for a day trip. Atrani is a great, quiet, and friendly community. We would definitely go back!

Great Vacation
Atrani is the perfect location on the Amalfi Coast. Close enough to Amalfi and Ravello to enjoy it's splendor, but not over crowded with tourists. Madalena's place has all the comforts of home, with direct access to the beach and a gorgeous view of the area. Highly recommended!

Wonderful accommodations, perfect location!
We loved our stay in Maddalena's villa and highly recommend it to others! The home is fully equipped with everything we needed and then some. The view from the rooftop is splendid and was very welcoming at the end of a long day. The location is right off of the town square, which is very convenient! And the bus stop is very close as well, making it very easy to get around the coast without our own transportation.
The town of Atrani is a nice reprieve from the very busy and touristy neighboring town of Amalfi and only a short 5 minute walk through the pedestrian tunnel. Atrani gives a real feel of local life here, yet they welcome tourists like family. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay, yet want to be steps from one of the main towns on the Amalfi coast, then this is where you want to be!

Highly recommend
Visited May 2018. Great location, great place with lots of stairs to be expected. Great views from terraces. Entryway has table and place for keeping jackets up some stairs to First level is the main bathroom and bedroom including an additional open sleeping loft above. Up to the next level is a 1/2 bath with washer. Up a few more steps is the main living, dining and kitchen along with the first terrace. From the first terrace you can go up to the roof terrace with the clothes line.
We bought eggs and coffee at the local store and had breakfast every morning. It was very easy to learn to use the Bialetti coffee maker Along with a morning Cappuccino at the local pastry shop. The coffe just doesn't taste as good at home!
Bumped into Maddalena (our lovely hostess) around town 3 or 4 times during out 8 night stay.
I would highly recommend this holiday rental to anyone.

Lovely little apartment
Atrani is a wonderful little village with several restaurants to choose from and a short stroll from Amalfi. Very easy to catch the ferry and visit all the villages along the coast. The apartment had everything needed in the kitchen and the deck was wonderful. Maddalena is wonderful! She is easy to work with and responds promptly.
As others have noted, there are several steps, but that is normal for the area.
