Beautiful historic home. Felt like a privilege to stay - ask to see the before pictures of the renovation. Just a remarkable transformation Welcomed with wine bread fruit and cheese. Great location. Super friendly and accommodating host when departure time was later. Quieter than Valletta and easy to get to by Bolt or water taxi (if timing works)
Set in the heart of Cospicua the house was the perfect place to immerse ourselves in the Three Cities area of Malta. Good restaurants nearby and easy access to ferry across to Valletta. The house was well appointed and beautifully restored, including a rooftop terrace where we ate breakfast. Considerate host (and parents), helpful with info and very responsive. Thanks Claude!
We had the best time at this property which was full of character and quite unique. The location was perfect as a base to explore the surrounding areas as first time visitors to Malta and a short ferry ride across to Valletta
Claude, the owner was super helpful with information about Malta, car hire and promptly answered any queries. His parents wee there to welcome us at check in and see us off at check out. We would recommend this place to friends and family! Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay at the old mill. It was a pleasure to discover the history behind some of the design details of the building itself and its decor. Claude was a gracious host and always responded promptly to messages. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean with lots of areas to relax and recharge from the heat. ( we stayed in August) thank goodness for the AC. Lots of great pubs, ice cream and restaurants nearby along the marina, easy walking distance.A lovely welcome basket was a nice surprise as we arrived quite late to the property.
Beautiful old mill on a quiet street.
Clean, well appointed and secure.
We stayed for about 10 days and the location was perfect with bus stops close by and the Valletta foot ferry about a 10 min walk.
Claude was easy to contact and responded to any requests, he even included some free housekeeping.
Highly recomended.
We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderfully renovated mill, it was great to hear / read about the history of this place, and it's made for a very cool combination of the modern and the classical. Claude and his parents were very considerate and replied all our queries promptly. Great tip to take the ferry to Valletta from Cospicua, rather than drive there!
Just as an FYI: parking wasn't always easy to find (like anywhere in Malta)
Fabulous pretty much sums up our stay here. We were greeted by the owner’s parents, and treated very graciously. The property was stunning, beautifully restored and designed impeccably. All of the details in every room were a joy to discover and spend time in. The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to escape and relax, and the location served us well, a nice quiet neighborhood, with easy access to parking or transportation, making our excursions easy to plan and enjoy. Walkability was great as well.
Staying at the Old Mill was a joy from beginning to end. It is an incredibly beautiful, calming and elegant house - a mix of ancient and modern - flooded with light.
It is also perfectly situated in Cospicua with everything in walking distance; places to eat, historical sites, the ferries to Valletta etc
Claude was the most gracious of hosts. His parents, who met us when we arrived exhausted after a long flight, left us a delicious simple supper of local produce that we ate in the cool of the evening on the lovely roof terrace to the sounds of bells and fireworks… heaven!
Wholeheartedly recommended.
Beautiful Arthouse Home - Perfect for visiting The Three Cities & Valletta (& all Malta)
Just wow! - This is an Arthouse home which is straight out of an Art & Architecture magazine. A magical home with incredible history dating back to the Knights of St John in the 1500s with really beautiful contemporary touches. The house is really interesting and a destination in itself. The beds are comfy and the air conditioning works beautifully in all rooms. Communication with Claude and his family was excellent; they helped us to have an amazing stay in Malta. The home has great facilities and we wanted for nothing. Food shops are nearby and just a short walk to beautiful waterside restaurants and bars.
The location is really beautiful with atmospheric historic streets and within walking distance of the the main fort (Fort St Angelo - where Caravaggio was imprisoned) Being located in Cospicua is the best location; it was like an oasis from the noise and crowds of Valletta. Incredibly atmospheric, historic streets and the opportunity to use the traditional water taxis (like Gondolas but wider and with an outboard motor) to cross to Valletta. Overall we had an incredible time - Thank you Claude and your family.
