Peaceful retreat near Lake Austin and Lake Travis. Fifteen minutes to downtown.
Our property is located just west of downtown Austin and our home and our guest house are situated on 2 1/4 acres. We named it Campo de Paz (Place/Country of Peace) because it a very tranquil location and space. Here, you are just outside the hustle of the city, yet close enough to enjoy the best of both worlds; rejuvenate yourself in the countryside or explore all that Austin has to offer. Better yet, do both! The choice is yours! You are just minutes away from both Lake Austin, Lake Travis, The Hill Country Galleria, and plenty of great restaurants. Relax on your own private deck and watch for deer! Listen for owls and in the spring, you might be lucky enough to hear the whippoorwills. The charming one bedroom (approximately 255 square feet), one bath guest house is furnished with a comfy queen bed, walk-in shower, plenty of closet space, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and electric kettle. Gourmet Nespresso coffee and a selection of Tazo teas are provided. Freshly made chocolate chip cookies or other goodies will be waiting for you when you arrive. Free wi-fi is available along with a 32' TV (99 channels).

Friendly owner, beautiful and well-appointed space on a lovely property. Would go back in a heartbeat! Maybe not best option if you need fast internet connection.
My son and I came out for the eclipse, and were very pleased with our stay. Such a peaceful property, with a great walking trail full of dear. Carolyn and Cap were very gracious and hospitable hosts. We would definitely stay here again!
Cal and Carolyn were great hosts, they gave us wonderful food ideas and were always easy to communicate with. This is a quiet and peaceful spot and getting anywhere in Austin is 20-25 minutes.
Beautiful slice of hill country right outside the city. Carolyn and Cap kindly greeted me on my arrival and made sure I'll be comfrotable for my stay. They were so kind to offer refreshments and made sure I there was a plate of Carolyns famous cookies. The hype is real!
The house is close enough to get ubers to the city, and far out enough that the state parks are driving distance. Thanks again!
Beautiful area, and the comments are correct, pictures don’t do it justice! Carlolyn and Cap are very vice and responsive, and the hiking trail they have is very serene:) perfect place for a relaxing weekend!
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend visiting from Arkansas! Check in was a breeze and they made us feel right at home! The cabin was beautiful and we had zero issues! We will be back!!
The property is amazing and the host is a joy! They take such care and I would stay there again in an instant (and the homemade chocolate chip cookies are awesome!!!)

This place was great! The pics don’t do it justice. It’s quite bright and cozy. The high ceilings make this place feel much more spacious. Fantastic decor and ambience. The bed was comfortable. She greeted us with cookies that were soooo good! My only complaint is there are dishes like there’s a kitchen but no kitchen sink. You have to wash dishes in the bathroom sink, which isn’t the end of the world. Just know that ahead of time going into it. We bought dinner and didn’t realize. Otherwise, this place is perfect.
Incredible property. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive. The room was so so nice. I truly enjoyed my stay. I hope to stay again any time I’m in Austin.
I received a really nice and warm welcome from Carolyn and Cap. Lovely room. Very quiet and had everything I needed for my stay near Austin. Which was just a 10 minute drive away. I would love to stay here again if I'm ever back in the woods. Highly recommended.

Perfect retreat for a busy trip!
Great location! Centrally located to Downtown Austin, Dripping Springs, & Lake Travis--- this cozy retreat was ideal for a busy trip. I even got to take advantage of the deck and enjoy a beverage outside before bed a night or two. So peaceful. Carolyn and Cap were great hosts and checked in on me during my stay... Would definitely recommend!

The owners are wonderful. Friendly, helpful, and welcomed us with Cookies, coffee, water, milk, and snacks. Loved the unique style and building. Nice walking path. Conformable bed and pillows. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Janny & Gary
Great property, quiet location! Property owners were very friendly. We enjoyed our weekend on property, nice patio (although it cooled off a bit too much for us to enjoy too long).
Had a wonderful stay. The space is even nicer than the photos. And the property is like a little oasis. It’s a little drive from downtown Austin, but not bad.
Campo de Paz was the perfect calm, quiet getaway that we needed. It's beautifully decorated, the shower is amazing! and the surroundings are lovely. We sat outside with our coffee each morning and watched the birds, squirrels, and deer.
Not only is this place nestled in wonderful neighborhood, but the hosts are the most accommodating and friendliest. I will definitely book again if I ever find myself in Austin again. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to stay here.
Awesome place, very tranquil setting in the woods but just a short drive for dining, etc. Carolyn and Cap were the most gracious hosts and the homemade chocolate chips were a nice plus. Beautiful cabin decorated nicely with all the amenities you need. It was so peaceful as we sat on the porch with a glass of wine and watched deer roam thru.
Loved my stay here. The property was beautiful and peaceful. Good location. Close enough to both the city and Lake Travis to be convenient but just far enough away to feel remote. Will definitely book here again in the future!
We came for a relaxing weekend away and that is exactly what we got. This property is quiet, perfectly comfortable and in a great location if you want something close to the city. The hosts are so great. I have never stayed in a VRBO as well maintained as this. There is a lot of natural light in this space so bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in. Perfect stay for two!

We love to travel and have a passion for collecting folk art and for cooking. Japan, Australia, Mexico, Italy, France and England are a few of the places we've traveled. We love to stay in Bed and Breakfasts and were inspired to build one of our own. We each have a background in fine arts and have taught art both privately and in schools for years. We designed and built the house ourselves. The current guest house was once part of Carolyn's ceramics studio. We have just listed our guest house on VRBP/HomeAway and we look forward to hosting visitors to Austin and the Lake Travis/Lake Austin area.
Why they chose this property
When we were first married, we found this piece of property and bought it. We love Austin and wanted to settle down in a place that we built. the neighborhood has grown over the years but our property still makes you feel you are in a very private, secluded, and peaceful place.
