Adorable home

Perfect home that I was able to bring my puppy to visit my son at Marion Military Institute. I was able to bring my son back to the house so he could feel like he got away too. Plus he got to do laundry :)

Not my home away from home

First of let me say my expectations were not very high due to the price and pictures. I thought we would be alright for a week. But even with that I was very disappointed. This property needs lots of work. I would not recommend it for anyone who is particular about where they sleep. The beds were very uncomfortable and it appears as if the host was trying to cover up the horrible mattresses. The walls had cracked and peeling paint with water stains. Overall place was dirty and needed lots of repair to make it a home away from home. We booked for 6 days and stayed 2 nights.

Why they chose this property

The Old Town Historic District is a 323-acre historic district in Selma, Dallas County, Alabama. It is the largest historic district in Alabama, with more than 1,250 structures dating back to the early 1800s on the National Historic Register. The District includes the antebellum Sturdivant Hall Museum (also known as the Watts-Parkman-Gillman Home), the Italianate-style White Force Cottage which was built by C.B. and Martha Todd White (half-sister of Abraham Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd).

What makes this property unique

My historic home offers a cozy and comfortable stay with various snacks and food items in the pantry. You can enjoy Starbucks or Dunkin coffee with the K-Cups provided or indulge in the chips and pop-tarts stashed in the breakfast nook. The highlight of my home is the library, where you can find books by local, classic Civil Rights and Black Renaissance authors. If you are a book lover, you will appreciate the rich collection of literature in my home.
