About this property

Nestled amongst the vineyards with uninterrupted views down to the surrounding forests. This picturesque stone house offers a modern interior, with all the amenities for that much needed country get away.

The Space
On entering Viaud Est, your first impression of the house is of the space that benefits from natural light with it’s six metre ceilings letting the light flood into the lounge and open plan areas. To compliment the modern interior, the kitchen is fully integrated with granite bench tops, which opens up to the dining room also featuring a solid granite dining table. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas are made extra cosy with an enclosed double sided fireplace for those cooler evenings or just for some added ambiance. The house has two foot thick walls, so in summer you are sure be nice and cool inside, and well insulated in winter with zoned underfloor heating through out. The master ground floor bedroom (wheelchair friendly) looks over the infinity pool (heated between 1st June till 15 of September) and vineyard through french doors leading to the outdoor entertaining area. This room features a very spacious ensuite and dressing room with ample space to unpack. The two upstairs bedrooms are also ensuite and all have crisp white bedding, robes and TVs. The mezzanine floor has a TV lounge with access to Sky (english) TV, Netflix and French satellite as well as a working/office space with wifi throughout the house. There is a utility room with a washing machine and a dryer, and for longer stays we will have the house cleaned and bedding changed weekly for your comfort. For peace of mind the house is also fully alarmed at the swipe of a card and the property has automated gate entry.

Guest Access
Guest have full access to all areas of the house. This includes their own private gated garden, which in spring boast around five thousand daffodils and tulips. Guests are also free to explore the thirty hectares including manicured lawns, vine, forrest, wishing well and orchard. The covered outside entertaining area offers a relaxing lounge space perfect for winding down the afternoon with a local drop. The outdoor dining table seats 10 for lazy summer lunches looking over the infinity pool and vineyard. For the outdoor enthusiast the pool is heated June to September. To never have the excuse of missing out on the views, or the odd chevreuil (roe deer) crossing the vineyard, a gas barbecue is also at your disposal.

Interaction with Guests
As a guest you can enjoy the luxury of peace and quiet with complete privacy. The owners live on the property in a separate house, and look forward to welcoming you on arrival. They also speak French, English and Dutch and are happy to help with any translations or information you might like to query.

The Neighborhood
Pellegrue is a quaint village that is predominantly scattered with vineyards. For your convenience the centre of the village just a winding drive, 5 minutes away has a supermarket, petrol station, pharmacy, two banks, news agents, tourism office, cafe, wine bar, tennis courts, car mechanic and beauty salon. For the safety conscious we also have a doctor, emergency, fire and police services.
There is plenty to do in the area and the owners have many recommendations for activities no matter the season. From walking, horse riding, bike riding, canoeing, jet skiing, fishing, golf, hot air ballooning, luxury spa days, antique boutiques, helicopter wine tours, local produce and craft markets, night life, and of course quality restaurants and the incredible wine tasting that the area has to offer with Saint Emillion said to be one of the best produces in the world.
The location is also ideal for day trips to Bordeaux, Arcachon, Biaritz, Toulouse and the Perigeux.

Getting Around
To experience the true beauty of the scenic countryside, guest are recommended to have their own vehicle. The closest major airport is Bordeaux International 1 hour 15 minutes away. However there is also Bergerac Airport with flights from the UK and other European cities only 35 minutes from the property. The closest train station is Sainte Foy La Grande 20 minutes away, leaving hourly to Bordeaux city centre. The TGV is also available from Libourne 40 minutes away, which can take you to Paris in just 3 hours.

Wunderschönes Haus exzellent eingerichtet!

Es fehlt in diesem Haus absolut nichts! Umgebend einer traumhaften Landschaft bietet es ein Ort um das Leben zu genießen. Die Vermieterin ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit! Eine Unterkunft, die ich sehr empfehlen kann!

THE Most Magical Holiday

This was our second time staying at Nora, Krystal and Peter’s beautiful house…. and I hope it will be the second of many! From the minute you arrive you feel utterly at home, relaxed and peaceful in this meticulously clean and beautifully designed home that has everything you might need or want - Nora and Krystal have thought of everything! The terrace and pool are an absolute dream and the views over the corn rows of vines are stunning. Lovely stay overlooking the vineyards

Second visit to Viaud and booked again next year. A very lovely property, well equipped with lovely views across the vineyards. Just a lovely, quiet relaxing holiday chilling out around, and in, the pool. Nora, Krystel and Peter are great hosts and live very close by if required. We just love it, but probably not for you if you like all the bright lights and bars of a busy area, Viaud is very peaceful and quiet and all the more beautiful for it.

A Perfect Two Weeks

We had a beautiful two weeks in this amazing home. The first week was with family and the second just us as a couple. Nora and Peter are excellent hosts who provided everything you could need and more. They are on site for any questions, but unobtrusive at the same time. The house and location are stunning and sitting out by the pool or an evening on the patio was idyllic whether in a group or on our own. The kitchen was well equipped and had all that you would require. It was the fastest two weeks imaginable and we were sorry to go. We can not recommend this property highly enough for a true getaway. Just perfect!

Nous avons passé 3 supers jours dans la maison! La maison est très belle, décorée avec goût, très bien aménagée et tout ce dont vous avez besoin y est avec de jolies petites attentions en sus. La literie est très confortable. Le jardin est plus que bien entretenu et la vue est mieux qu en photo. Les propriétaires sont sur le même terrain mais pas du tout envahissants, nous avons pu mettre de la musique sur la terrasse sans soucis, au bord de la piscine chauffée;) Les propriétaires sont vraiment très sympathiques ! Ils entretiennent tellement bien leur maison que l’on a envie d’en prendre soin;) Bref nous reviendrons! La maison est idéale entre copines/copines ou en famille. Merci encore Nora!

Beautiful house

We had family stay in this warm and beautiful house. Very well equipped ans the owner are super nice ans think about any details.. wine, milk, basic stuff to have during your stay to make it comfortable. As well every room with TV and bathroom.. with whatever you will need (hair dryer, shampoo, cream etc.. ) The house is well designed with the finest French marks and the view is amazing. I highly recommend!!

Christmas in the vineyards

What a beautiful and tastefully constructed guest house. It's clear even the smallest details were thought out. Beautiful surroundings and a great way to relax and enjoy the quiet (and perfect for our 4 legged guest). Nora and family were the perfect hosts, we look forward to a return visit.

A perfect place to relax and enjoy

We enjoyed our stay very much. The villa is super equipped and very stylishly designed. In this villa everything was perfect for us: great views from the terrace, heated pool, comfortable beds, large and very well equipped kitchen and a good gas barbecue. Nora was a great host and gave us many tips for the local area. We would love to come back.

Beautiful, serene getaway

Our group of six had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property overlooking one of the many vineyards in the Bordeaux region. The house is newly constructed, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully decorated. Nora and Peter are terrific hosts, providing reliable recommendations when requested and otherwise allowing their guests the time and space to completely relax.

PEACE AND QUIET AND A GREAT VIEW

This modern property is located among acres and acres of vineyards with a delightful elevated view of the rows and rows of grapes. It is a quiet and peaceful place to relax, read and walk but close to several of the charming small towns in the countryside and close enough for a visit to Bordeaux, St. Emilion etc. We had a delightful three week stay.

We waren hier voor de tweede maal en weer was alles dik in orde! Het huis is echt van alle gemakken voorzien. We hebben genoten van het mooie uitzicht en van de rust. Je kan er mooie uitstappen doen mits je bereidt bent enkele kilometers met de wagen te rijden. Wij bezochten St Emilion, Duras waar het kasteel wel de moeite was om te doen. Ook reden we naar Arcachon aan de Atlantische oceaan en Dune de Pilat (hoogste duin van Europa) het is een eindje rijden maar zeker de moeite waard. Wij willen zeker de eigenaars Nora, Peter en hun dochter Kristel, die in het huis ernaast wonen bedanken voor hun gastvrijheid. Die mensen staan altijd klaar om welke wens of vraag je ook hebt te regelen. Ook de twee schattige Tibetaanse terriërs Kiwi en Lily komen je elke morgen vol enthousiasme begroeten. Voor ons weer een geslaagde vakantie en wij gaan zeker nog eens terug!

Absolutely wonderful!

We spent three nights at Nora and Peter's gorgeous villa. Nora was easy to communicate with and made finding the house as simple as could be. She provided restaurant recommendations before our arrival, and welcomed us when we arrived. The location of the villa could not have been more spectacular--right in the middle of vineyards as far as the eye could see, visible from the lovely back patio and heated pool. The home itself was spotless, and had everything we needed for our stay and more. Our hosts left directions to nearby markets for each day of the week, and were full of wonderful suggestions for what to see nearby. The kitchen was stocked with any appliance you could need, making cooking dinner there easy and fun, especially enjoying our meal on the beautiful patio. We will absolutely be back! If you're looking to stay in the Bordeaux region, we could not recommend their villa more highly. It's a perfect place to spend time with family or friends, to cook, relax, be together, and experience Bordeaux.

Gorgeous surroundings, stunning house and welcoming and helpful hosts

Nora, Peter and Crystal the hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. They kindly recommended and booked two places to go wine tasting, and some lovely local restaurants. Their knowledge of the area was invaluable. Kiwi and Lilly the dogs were very cute too! The house is really well equipped with everything you could need (particularly the kitchen) and is beautifully decorated. The little touches of flowers, wine and toiletries were appreciated too. The views overlooking he vineyards are gorgeous. Would really recommend staying here and hope to come back soon.

Stylish elegant home you won't want to leave

Wow! We are so lucky to have discovered such an outstandingly stylish home in which to spend a relaxing holiday enjoying the stunning setting from the beautifully appointed terrace and infinity pool overlooking vineyards. From the first contact Nora, Peter and Kristal were friendly, courteous and welcoming full of great ideas and suggestions for exploring the area including atmospheric local markets, fabulous wines and superb restaurant recommendations which combined with a very warm welcome and introduction to their gorgeous property full of stylish details where everything you could possibly need for a 5star stay is provided. This meant we could simply unpack, relax and enjoy their gift of a chilled bottle of champagne on the terrace to begin our holiday knowing they were on hand should we need any other guidance or recommendations during our time here. The memories of our stay here will remain with our family always and our two daughters aged 18 and 20 particularly enjoyed their own en suite bathrooms and TVs for some down time after taking full advantage of the pool and stylish sun loungers. The highlight of their holiday however was getting to know Kiwi and Lily the family's lovely dogs and we had to check they weren't smuggled into the car for our very reluctant journey home! We would love to return to this wonderful home next year as we have ordered some fabulous wine from this years harvest in St Emilion - an amazing and beautiful area to visit- so a great excuse to come over and collect it! Wonderful property in a great location

A fantastic property in a lovely location. It was also one of the best equipped places we have ever stayed in! Nora, Peter, & Crystal were wonderfully helpful, but also left us to our own devices. Highly recommended - you'll have a great time!

We loved our stay. The house was really beautiful and set in an almost incredible landscape,

Nora, Peter and Cristal were welcoming and helpful to us and our family and also to our dog! However, there were two downsides for us, The pool was unheated and although Peter did indeed turn the heating on for us, it was never really warm enough to enjoy swimming in. Also, the very chic white cushion and chair covers were stained and dirty and badly needed washing, It would have made a huge difference! But all in all, we had a lovely holiday (despite the very disappointing weather). Thank you Nora!!!!

Elegant home, perfect location, welcoming hosts!

This stone walled home was perfect for our week visit with two families of three, including a 7 yr old and a 2 yr old. The house was beautifully presented with all essentials provided to make this a home away from home. The pool was enjoyed by all and was a lovely, relaxing setting overlooking the vineyards. The location was ideal for visiting sites like Saint Emilion and to visit markets each day to source local ingredients to grill, cook and enjoy at home. The hosts were very generous and helpful with advice, including where to source wines and and buy an amazing birthday cake for our 7 year old! A fantastic place to have a holiday and it was hard to leave!
