A once in a lifetime experience
Flawless vacation home in the heart of Acadia. The owners have created and maintained a masterpiece that combines comfort and convenience while adhering to a philosophy of environmental sustainability and harmony. From the soothing sounds of a backyard-babbling-brook to the delightfully comfortable beds, it is challenging to motivate yourself to walk out the front door and begin any number of great Acadia adventures. Walk to Jordan Pond House; Seal Harbor beach; or the Island Explorer bus-stop in less than 30 minutes. A few decent options for food and drink near the home, but easy to hop on the bus (in season) for even more excellent choices in Bar Harbor. Or you can choose to utilize the fully equipped kitchen and cook yourself a nice meal. The options and possibilities offered by the home and the area will accommodate any vacation style. The owners care for their home and ensure that your family will have an enjoyable and safe stay. Book it, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful time at Sunscape
We can’t say enough good things about our stay at Sunscape. This solar-powered house is lovely, comfortable, and immaculately kept, nestled in woods adjoining Acadia National Park. You can walk onto a park carriage road, or to a nearby pond. Bar Harbor is a short drive from the house. Rosemary and Charlie are wonderful hosts, kind and full of helpful information. We hope we will be able to return.

Delightful
The house is immaculately clean, with clear instructions for its use, and comfortably fit our family of 3 (two adults and one toddler). Seal Harbor is the perfect location for access to Acadia and everything the area has to offer, and it’s also close to Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor and other coastal Mt Desert Island towns. We were also able to catch one of the local free buses from Seal Harbor and Jordan Pond. Carriage trails for biking are also within a short walk, and several hiking paths are accessible from the property as well. Rosemarie and Charlie were exceptional hosts and the location is as social or as secluded as you want it to be. We’ve been coming to Acadia for over a decade and this has been one of this best visits to date.

Beautiful house in great location
We really enjoyed our stay. House is everything you could want. It is in a great location (we walked to Jordan Pond House and the carriage roads are even closer). Kitchen is fully equipped, bedrooms/baths were great and the outdoor area has a grill and great seating area overlooking a creek. Couldn't be happier with the accommodations.

Fall in Maine
The location, property, and hosts were excellent. It is practically in Acadia Park and so close to great hiking and carriage trails. The house is super clean and charming, away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. My family and I feel lucky to have found this place. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was exactly as listed. Beautiful, incredibly clean and comfortable with lovely details in all the decor. The owners were very friendly and available for anything that we might have needed. They really put so much love and attention into the home and it shows from the minute you walk in the door! My family had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this rental.

Great Location for Park
This is a wonderful property and very convenient to the park, with only a short walk to the carriage roads for a bike ride or hike, and also close to Jordan Pond and the coast. The property is immaculate with tasteful and simple decor and a wonderful view to the quaint patio and woods of Acadia beyond. The owners are a wonderful and kind couple who live just up the road if any issue were to arise. We highly recommend this property.

Amazing Home and Location!
We loved this home, its location, and the owners, Rosemary and Charlie! The carriage roads of Acadia NP are literally a 2 minute walk from the front door, and it is a very short walk to Jordan Pond. So, we could leave the car parked in the driveway and just walk magnificent Acadia. The home is a new, beautifully-constructed and maintained, energy-efficient masterpiece. Our stay exceeded our expectations.

Lovely house, great location
We had a wonderful stay at Rosemary and Charlie's property. The house is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. We could walk to the carriage roads just a few doors down, and in the other direction could walk into the small cute town/harbor. Our hosts left us a few treats from their garden. I highly recommend staying here!

Didn't want to leave
When we go on vacation, we like to stay in a place that's nicer than our own home. This place is in immaculate shape and it's very easy to get comfortable. It matched our expectations and it was hard to leave. The owners have an eye for detail. We also enjoyed the quiet, leafy neighborhood and close proximity to the Jordan Pond House and biking and hiking trails.

Perfect!
Lovely home in a great little neighborhood. Close to everything you’ll want to do and explore. Friendly and kind owners willing to help with advice on things to see and do. Loved the little creek and woods in the back. Just so relaxing. House was super clean and had everything you would need. Owner is an artist and beautiful touches of artwork in the home. Would absolutely stay here again! A mile walk to Jordan Pond to the north and a mile walk to the south to Seal Harbor beach. Cute cafe on the walk to Seal Harbor. Short drive to Bar Harbor.

Beautiful house in Seal Harbor!
It was so nice to come home to a beautiful house after our adventures in Acadia National Park and surrounding area every day. The house looks as shown in the pictures. We specially love that it is so close to the entrance of the park. Rosemary and Charlie are lovely hosts. We will be recommending this house to all our friends and relatives.

A wonderful stay in Seal Harbor
We loved this house! The location is as good as it gets--easy access to the park, carriage roads, a family-friendly beach, and nearby towns. The house itself was immaculate and well-stocked with kitchen equipment, books, games, puzzles, etc. As if all of that wasn't enough, Rosemary made us feel like family. From our very first conversation, she was a warm and responsive host, ensuring that we had everything we needed. We're eager to plan our return trip!

Perfect - in every way!
Sunscape was the perfect home for us during our vacation. From the beauty of the home and surroundings to the hospitality and attention from Rosemary and Charles. The location is ideal. We loved riding our bikes and walking right from the house. As well as being so close to other areas of intersest. The coffee shop and small restaurant in Seal Harbor are within walking distance too and served us well.

Treasure of Bar Harbor/Seal Harbor/Acadia
We booked this wonderful property based upon the pictures provided and were not disappointed. The property was built in 2014, but looked like it was newly constructed. The owners (Rosemary and Charlie) take great pride in their home and were excellent in their communication with us prior to our arrival. The home is beautiful inside and out and was immaculately cleaned prior to our arrival. Small details like a welcoming gift, coffee in the fridge, and a well appointed kitchen made us feel welcomed from the start. The bathrooms are well stocked with ample supplies and towels, and we used the washer/dryer to make short work of our laundry. The wifi signal is strong and reliable which was awesome because our cell signal was not weak at best. The 3 bedrooms are nicely appointed and the beds were comfortable after a long day of hiking in the Acadia National Park. We walked the neighborhood in the morning and down to the coffee shop in Seal Cove. Along the way we encountered wild turkey and deer. Look for sea glass at low tide. The carriage road is less than 100 yards from the house and gave us access to trials and Acadia in our backyard! Overall, the owners and this property exceeded our expectations and we plan to book again when we return. Thanks again to Rosemary and Charlie for their warm hospitality and sharing their home with us!

Why they chose this property

To build a house was a lifetime interest--and we did it. We are sure you will appreciate the thought and effort that went into our endeavor, and find yourself immediately at home! We visited Acadia National Park for years and were fortunate to be able to eventually live here year round. For us to live among mountains, forests and lakes all while being on the ocean is wonderful almost beyond words. We built a home of classic design but with sustainability and comfort as our priorities.
