Charming & Historic Beach Cottage - Oasis in the Heart of Downtown
An oasis In the heart of Old Town with beautiful gardens, fountains and birds. Loaded with charm and flooded with light! Built in the 20's, this home has been carefully restored and updated without sacrificing the special esthetic of the period. From the original clear Douglas fir floors, antique light fixtures, wide floor and window moldings to the vintage gas pot bellied stove (fireplace), the large bathroom with soaking tub and pedestal sink. The master bedroom has a queen bed with a black iron headboard, antique oak highboy dresser and vintage chandelier. The second bedroom also features a queen bed with a period headboard and additional vintage touches. The kitchen is sunny and bright with hand painted tiles and windows that look out onto the garden fountain and bird feeders. And the location couldn't be better! Just one block from downtown shops, restaurants and the vintage Bay Theater. Only 2 blocks from the Embarcadero and the waterfront! Just a short walk to the Morro Bay Aquarium, to rent kayaks or go whale watching. You can even see Morro Rock from the front porch and yard. Sit under the gazebo with morning coffee or a glass of wine, looking out to the bay and listening to the songbirds. This is a truly special place.

Location is great. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, etc. as well as seasonings. The space is great for two friends. We walked to the whale ride and dinner, made breakfast two mornings, visited Hearst Castle, went wine tasting, hiked the bluff trail and visited El Chorro Botanical Garden.
We were quite happy in Morro Bay at this, (what we're now calling) the Flower House. Of course, Morro Bay itself blocked off all street parking for most of the time we were there, but there was ample parking behind Scout Coffee just a few steps away.Wonderfully, everything Morro Bay has to offer is a short walk from this house. The kitchen was one of the most fully-stocked we've ever encountered, so we didn't eat out every meal, but it really is the kind of house that makes you want to go outside and it's hard to overstate how beautiful the flowers are here.

This is a charming little house with lots of character. The host was extremely good and responsive. Kelly is a lovely person. We had a repair issue needed but was quickly handled with the handyman. It happens, this is a pretty old house. The only direct criticism is the beds could stand a mattress update, they were not very supportive or comfy. The furnishings are very antique pretty unique.
Very cute property with location, location, location! Beds were comfy. Comfortable furniture and pleasing decor. Kitchen is stocked with everything needed for cooking. Yard is pleasing and lots of birds to enjoy! Laundry facilities are great.
What a sweet, inviting home to rest weary bones, cook fine meals, and connect with old friends. A stones throw from the water and downtown, it is easy to park your car and take long walks to catch a sunrise or sunset. The cottage was immaculate and the host was responsive and delightful. I will be returning again for certain. Oh yeah, and the fountain outside the kitchen nook met my bird-watching needs while drinking coffee and writing letters to friends. :-)
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage in Morro Bay. The location was perfect, just a few blocks from the water and a short walk to the small but enjoyable downtown full of nice shops. Even though that started about a block away, it did feel separate and neighborhood-y. We were charmed by Morro Bay and hope to return and when we do, we definitely want to stay here again!
Love the location, downtown yet quiet. Nice farmers market Saturday afternoon. Great local shops in this area of MB, not the touristy shops found along the Embarcadero, though they were just a 2 block walk away. Home is very cozy and well appointed. Direct TV and good Wi-Fi. We would definitely stay again.
A great getaway spot. Good location near town and shopping. Comfortable beds and relaxing living area. We really enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend staying here!
Downtown, easy walking to everything. Loved watching the birds come to the feeder. Farmers market a fun experience. We could get out and go or stay in and “veg” out. Thanks Kelly.
My friend and I were there for a watercolor painting retreat. The cottage was a great location. It is a cozy place with beautiful landscaping and an entertaining bird population!
Thanks!
The cutest little cottage conveniently located to the Morro Bay business district. It’s clean and comfortable and a combination of new and old. The front and back yards are lovely and fully fenced. We loved our stay!
Cute home but very musty smelling when you walk in, could not open windows for no screens. Gas heater let out heavy gas smell. Used small heaters from bedrooms to heat up living room. Did get my toe caught in a crack of the wooden floor, that should be fix. House was a bit dusty.overall location perfect. Work being done during our stay was annoying.
Central Location, Private garden! GREAT owner communication
Cozy comfy cottage w/ serene backyard garden w/ birds and sweet smells. Perfect for a couple w/ a pet. Intersection was not that busy even on labor day weekend. Walk to shops, beach, the rock, the Embarcadero and take a nice boat ride! We didn't even get back in the car for the whole 3 days. We will be back!
I have stayed at this property at least 4 times. It is my favorite lodging in Morro Bay! The house is a perfect size for two people and a small dog. It has a lovely backyard patio, soothing fountain and many birds at the feeders. The location is in lovely downtown Morro Boy in a very quiet neighborhood.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was just as described and Kelly was responsive when we had questions. Check in was a breeze. The beds were comfortable and it was pretty quiet at night. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. There were numerous birds in the yard, including hummingbirds, blue jays, and doves. We enjoyed watching them! The location is fabulous. It's two blocks from the Embarcadero, which we visited often. There are also numerous restaurants and coffee houses within a short walk. We love Morro Bay, and will definitely consider staying here again!

Not as advertised
Interior of house was fine. Great kitchen and bathroom appurtenances. Comfortable. The exterior was unkempt. NO flowers as advertised. The trees and shrubs on entire property needed pruning and severely cut back. Also, furniture was dirty.
Disappointing.
Very charming, clean, stocked with everything needed for a peaceful, comfortable stay. Lots of outlets for your devices. We thought it might be noisy since it's on the corner of a main street but it was very quiet! Close to everything, we walked to most places. We have recommended it to our friends and would stay here again!
This is a perfect beach cottage. In walking distance to restaurants and the waterfront. Loved the gardens especially the one in the back. I would recommend this rental if you are planning a stay in Morro Bay.
The house was very cute a comfortable. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog. It’s in walking distance to everything in Morro. We will definitely stay here again!
