This lovely detached house sits in the centre of the village of Barrow Hill, near Chesterfield, and can sleep six people in three bedrooms.

The Old Grocery is a lovely detached house that sits in the centre of the village of Barrow Hill, near Chesterfield, and can sleep six people. There is a king-size double bedroom (zip/link, can be 2’ 6” twin on request), a twin bedroom, a single bedroom with an additional pull-out stacker bed, a shower room, a ground floor basin and WC, a kitchen, a utility room, a dining room with a gas fire and a sitting room with gas fire. Outside there is off road parking for three cars, additional free roadside parking across the road and a garden. The Old Grocery is a wonderful holiday base.

Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, landline for incoming calls only, WiFi. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Off road parking for 3 cars. Free roadside parking across road. Lawned garden with furniture. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 1 mins walk, pub 1.5 miles. Note: Stacker bed is suitable for an adult.

Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its boating lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. An interesting base for a break exploring the Peak District.

The old Grocery
Great place, very spacious all the amenities you could need. Garden was lovely our 2 jack Russells loved it. Was a great location for us to travel and visit family in local areas. We really enjoyed our stay.

Pleasantly surprised
The Old Grocery was an excellent cottage. Parents of 18 year old ( finished excellent A levels) grandma + occasional friends. 2 small dogs. Weather good cottage beautifully clean, well equipped with comfy beds. Lovely garden. Nice owner. Been in bigger and grander holiday lets, but none surpassed comfort as at The Old Grocery.
