We loved this property. Everything was in it that we needed, except perhaps a potato peeler. (thats a minor thing!)
Very serene and we found it so special.
Thank you and we would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from it all.
This property is as advertised, it’s on a working farm so not super quiet but perfect for us as an energetic young family!! Gorgeous garden to explore and a well equipped kitchen kept us all happy
Peaceful location with countryside views, lovely and warm, well equipped and very mobility friendly, helpful owner, suntrap of a little garden (not fenced if you had a dog however).
Excellent location , nice and quiet , easy access into property. Lots of parking room for vehicles.Everything was provided , managed to cook a Christmas Dinner in the cottage with no issues. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Bedrooms were large and both ensuite with walk in showers.Plenty of hot water , comfortable beds.Value for money .4 out 5 Personally i would have liked a bigger TV and bigger fridge and freezer, but we were staying over the Christmas period so we had a lot food with us. TV is just a preference. Thank you Sue. problems .
We come to Maidstone a lot to visit family, this was the first time visiting with 2 children so we needed somewhere suitable. Sue’s cottage was perfect, all on one level, 2 big walk in showers, a small living area and decent sized kitchen with all the amenities you’d need. The washer and dryer are an added bonus when travelling with kids! A lovely garden area, a morning cuppa was lovely outside, so peaceful. We will definitely return. Sue also went above and beyond and grabbed our washing off the line one day as it looked like rain - a huge help for busy parents! Thank you again Sue xx
Our stay at Marys Cottage was very lovely. Situated in the countryside of Kent - a very calm surrounding.
The landlady (Sue) ist always there when needed and has great tips.
We never had such a well equipped cottage, everything needed and more
The kids and the dog could stroll around without harm.
A lot of sights, castles and cities are within reach of approximately one hour drive. London Victoria can bei reached within one hour by train from Maidstone East.
Very recommendable!!!
The property was very comfortable and well maintained. Ideally situated if you like to walk and observe nature all around you. We were able to reach our planned destinations easily despite the major road works on the M2. Our host lived next door but this did not bother us. They made our stay very enjoyable and it was a real pleasure to be able to take our dogs without any additional charge. Thank you Suzanne.
The cottage was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.
It was a great location and we were able to visit many interesting places, including NT properties and Bedgebury Pinetum, to all of which we were able to take our dog.
There are also nice pubs in the area to eat out at, notably the Bull Inn and The Horseshoes at East Farleigh.
We may be back!
This cottage was just right for us. Small and cosy, very peaceful location. En suite bathrooms for each bedroom are a plus. 20 minutes away from friends we were visiting and will definitely stay again next time we visit.
For an October stay this was a warm cottage. Ideal for my elderly Dad. All on one level with good access. Only issue was that wifi was not available as communicated by message the week before. Mobile signal in the area is not great.
Always helpful, quiet and locally situated for mid kent days out. Local walks with my dog were literally on my doorstep! No cars just the occasional Horse. J
We enjoyed our stay very much at the cottage and loved going out the door every morning and seeing the beautiful flowers. The dogs had a wonderful time as well exploring the area around and meeting the chickens. Thank you for a much needed break in the countryside!
The cottage is very well equipped. Perhaps not as private as we expected as it is attached to the owners house. But Sue was very welcoming and helpful. Remarkably large bathrooms en-suite to each good sized bedroom (both with plenty of storage). Excellent powerful walk-in showers. Living room/dining/kitchen were, by comparison, compact but comfortable. Good wifi. Supermarkets within easy reach and a good choice of takeaways and pubs within a short drive. The area is beautiful with so much to see and do. We especially enjoyed some great walks along the river Medway valley.
Using Vrbo to rent this property was very straightforward. It was exactly what I wanted and would go back again in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Sue Townsend
I have lived on the farm all of my life, and have been running a B&B for since 2003. The cottage was built by us in 2007 to provide a lovely place for self catering holidays as an extension of our business.
Why they chose this property
We are very lucky to live in an exceptionally beautiful area in the heart of Kent (The garden of England), but close enough to London, Canterbury, and the coast.
What makes this property unique
The cottage was designed to be completely accessible to wheelchair users, with no thresholds or steps.
