(pictures just can't do these views justice) This home is located in Teller County, Southern Colorado about 2 hours south and west of Denver and a little over an hour west of the Colorado Springs airport.

If you enjoy the outdoors then you will love this property and the surrounding area. This delightful property at an elevation of about 9500 feet is located fifteen minutes south of the town of Woodland Park - the 'city above the clouds' and 15 minutes north of Cripple Creek - a historic mining and gambling town. The layout and furnishings are set up for a large group of family or friends and features a cozy family room with a propane stove for chilly nights, dining room to seat six and a well stocked kitchen complete with the cooking and serving utensils to prepare your favorite meal.

The master bedroom, 3/4 bath with double sinks, kitchen, dining and family room are on the main level with awesome deck and barbeque grill off living area with amazing views of the mountain range. The large wrap around deck provides a perfect perch to view incredible sunsets, read your favorite book, enjoy your favorite beverage, or just relax in the peace and quiet. There is also a barbeque perfect for cooking a steak or fresh fish if you had a lucky day fishing. From the deck you can see deer and other wildlife just exploring the beautiful surroundings or try to count the millions of stars at night.

The lower level has two additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other has a full bed. The lower level also includes a newly renovated full bath and family recreation room complete with foosball, TV and a queen sleeper sofa and walk out patio. A fully equipped laundry area allows you the convenience of a long-term stay without taking away vacation time.

The house comes fully supplied with fresh linens, paper goods, washing and laundry supplies. Two televisions - one on each floor to accommodate multiple viewing desires with a collection of movies are available - or bring along your favorites.

Summer time in Southern Colorado offers many activities. Such activities nearby might include a trip to the Florissant Fossil Beds, The Dinosaur Museum, Mollie Kathleen Mine, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Garden of the Gods to name just a few. Come in the spring when the snow still falls, enjoy the dry heat of the summer with the cool nights, or come in the fall and see the splendor of the Aspens turning to gold.

Trips under 2 hours might include: Antiques in Florence, Golf in Canon City, Rafting & Fishing in the Arkansas River, the incredible Royal Gorge Park, Pueblo River Walk, Pueblo Zoo, Golf, Museums and Shopping.
If you are needing to do some work while staying there are several coffee shops within 15 mins that offer free Wi-Fi.
This home is a perfect spot to create great memories!

Great weekend trip

This cabin was great for our weekend jeep trip through the mountains. I wish we could have spent more time at the cabin. It was just two of us, but plenty of room for 6. We were able to return for the night to cook on the grill and enjoy the sunsets from the deck. We woke up in the mornings to deer feeding just feet away from the cabin. Great expirience!

Mountain vacation

If you are looking for a mountain getaway, look no further! Beautiful view from the upper deck, and a cute bear/outdoorsy theme throughout the house. There are so many activities to choose from within a short driving distance. Our kids enjoyed the foosball table and plethora of board games in the evenings. Would not recommend for a business trip as there is no WiFi. This required a little more planning on our part, but it didn’t bother us. We would definitely stay again!

What a sunset!

This cabin has the best sunsets. The full moon setting was a bonus. The cabin is great. Since it was just the two of us we stayed mainly on the main floor. The surrounding property was beautiful. Thanks!

Mountain Getaway

My family and I had an overall great stay at this cabin and it is our second time staying there in the last few years. We loved how secluded it was and the surrounding mountains and area. The cabin was clean and exactly how we remembered it except the owners had renovated it since the last time we stayed and our kids really liked it. Overall I would give it more than 5 stars if we had the option!

Fantastic Stay

My husband and three children stayed here for 5 days. It was easy to get to and even with rain everyday the roads were drivable I’m my suv. The location was perfect and we enjoyed our evenings sitting on the upper deck. We brought extra chairs, but they were not needed. We will definitely look into staying here again.

A great place to unplug and unwind.

It was a great experience and Sharon was wonderful to work with. The cabin had everything we needed to unplug for a couple of days. The views were incredible. The floors could have been swept better (potato chips and a dirty sock were under the furniture), but that can easily be fixed. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Lovely Mountain Retreat

Lovely cabin about 9,500 feet above sea level, great views, perfect amount of seclusion. Well stocked kitchen with cookware - no dishwasher (not a negative at all - just something to be aware of) More than enough room for our family of 5 (2 adults, 1 preteen and 2 teenagers). Great location only about 30-40 minutes to Co Springs and the various activites there. Due to the remote area of the cabin they have the water shipped to the cabin, so conservation is key with the water usage. Overall lovely stay, clean, great location, would have loved to stay longer!

Pictures don't do justice!

This was a beautiful home! Our family loved the location and the sweet doe with her twin fawns! We enjoyed the low humidity and cooler temps at night too! The lower level was an excellent space for our 3 children to play as well! Really the only downside was that we did have to all sleep downstairs as the bed upstairs is far past its lifetime use. If we made our way back to Colorado, this would definitely be our stay again! Thank you for the memories!!

Beautiful views

We enjoyed our stay. We were unable to turn the pot belly stove on. We called the property manager who stated she would reach out to the owner. We never heard back. The refrigerator had alot of leftover condiments and ice cream in it.

Golden girls get-away

We had a wonderful time reminiscing. The cabin was set up well with three separate beds available for all three of us. We were able to lounge in the dining room, living room, and on the porch when it was warm enough. Having two bathrooms was wonderful. The kitchen was amply supplied. It was easy to find the cabin, and easy to venture out in all directions. There were plenty of games, movies, books and etc. We only used the deck of cards…but plenty of other choices for entertainment. We absolutely had no Internet or phone signal but since we went out every day, it was not a problem. Loved our time there.

Beautiful sunsets & good value

We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect for what we needed. Be aware there’s no wifi or cell service and tv only gets a few channels besides religious and shopping networks. This only mattered when we were trying to plan our day trips and couldn’t get maps or weather when we were in the cabin. We made do and enjoyed being unplugged! Kitchen had everything you’d need even with some extra condiments and spices etc. that people left in cabinets and fridge. Very much appreciate that! Beds and pillows were super comfy and I have back issues so that’s a real plus. Only negative was from my son who said the water pump downstairs was noisy but that’s not a problem unless you have people down there sleeping in later than others (like a teenage boy) We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend!

Keith and I enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the sunset. We've been married 30 years and are high school sweethearts. We met in a rock band and still play in our church praise band together.

We hope you have a wonderful stay and please let us know if there is something we can provide to make it even better. And if you think that the squirrel night light on the deck is cute, tell me because Keith hates it. Ha!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this cabin in 2013 and are excited to share it with others! As a kid my family would visit Colorado every summer and to be able to own a very tiny piece of Colorado is a dream come true. The previous owner was an artist who built it for his wife. Some of the quirky outdoor decorations were left by him. I love the bears on the pole!
