About this property
Quintessential Italian Villa Sabatini
Villa Sabatini, nestled in an enviable position within the Comino valley in the foothills of the Parco Nationale D'Abruzzo sat midway in the Apennines between Rome and Naples is surrounded by truly authentic Italian villages unchanged in centuries.
This holiday destination hidden from tourists, will open your hearts and minds to the true Italian experience providing many fabulous restaurants or trattorie to choose from. The Villa, bright and spacious, sits within its own 12 acres of land. It was originally a farmhouse owned by the same family for generations, and was restored approximately 30 years ago to provide a home to the Sabatini family.
Only three minutes drive across the melfa river and up the tree lined mountain roads you will find the village of Atina. Atina famous for its past, provides a plethora of history dating back to the 3rd century B.C.; somehow, I feel today things are not much different and you can sit and take part in the Italians' favourite past time of 'camminare e parlare' in the sunshine outside the numerous bars and restaurants, sit in the piazzas watching Italians' everyday life go by or eat at the famous local restaurant 'Il Vicolo'.
Or listening to the shouts coming from the five aside football tournament as the locals spur on their favourite cousins, nieces and nephews. Shop amongst the locals on market day, the town vibrant with life, colour and the smells of the freshest produce or watch as the local people prepare the food with the utmost of tradition in their local shops, presenting it to you as if it were the most exquisite present.
Whether it be a holiday to sit and relax in the sun or to be super active, this house is a very special place and ideally located to provide for all sorts of activities so you will never be bored. Walking, cycling, painting, running, sun bathing, skiing, history, climbing, beach, ski, sitting, drawing or snoring these are some of many things that should attract you to stay at Villa Sabatini.
