School term break
Property was excellent , although very hot on arrival. The property is in a good location with cafes, pubs,Coop and chips shop close by. It was pleasant to hear the bells being rung in the church ,but be prepared to be woken up at 6am by them. Plenty of places to visit from the cottage ,Worthwhile booking in advance and checking some of the places are open and their closing times Make sure you take you take tea , coffee and milk with you as there was no welcome pack. Although CoOp close by

Wooler old friends reunion
Home from home. 2nd time visit. Nice central location just off high street. Both wives had lived in Wooler and were school friends and have stayed friends for 60+ years. Weather could have been kinder but it did not spoil our holiday The men managed a game of golf at Wooler golf club on the hottest day of our stay. Had lovely meals at the nearby Milan restaurant. Coffees and snacks on the high street and Ad Gefrin cafes.

Perfect home from home
Wonderful property down a tranquil lane in the centre of Wooler. Kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need and the bedrooms were attractive and comfortable. It is a real home from home. If there was one thing I would add it would be a full length mirror somewhere in the property. There is a well stocked Co-op just yards away, and several restaurants/take aways in the town, evening meals are well covered. Would definitely return next time we are in the area.

Great house in great location
Enjoyed a great break here. The house is really spacious, well equipped and above all was really clean. It’s tucked away off Wooler High Street and was really quiet at nights. So central for everything and everywhere. Parking right outside was a bonus with a baby. The supermarket is just round the corner and Wooler itself is a lovely place which looks really well cared for. Definitely worth a second visit.

Great cottage. Had everything we needed. Good location - just off the town centre which had lots of interesting shops to explore. We brought our dog and there was lots of space for him. Although no proper back garden grassy patches nearby!

Another excellent break at Brae Cottage
While the weather wasn't kind to us, the cottage was a lovely place to stay - warm, clean with all the things we needed to be comfortable. We have stayed there on a number of occasions over the years and it has been consistently enjoyable. Wooler and the surrounding area kept us entertained, hiking and golfing, with a visit to the new distillery well worthwhile. No doubt we will return, all being well. We didn't find the leather suite in the lounge particularly comfortable, but that may be our old, stiff backs!

I live in East Yorkshire, England and have enjoyed many wonderful family holidays with my family and friends in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. I have owned this property since early 2015 and it enables me to spend more time in my favourite part of the world. I have made some unforgettable memories with family and friends. I look forward to welcoming you as our guests.
Sue Thompson.

Why they chose this property

I knew when I set eyes on this property it was perfect. It has been transformed it into a cosy and welcoming retreat and love its location. In the heart of the market town of Wooler with all its amenities yet within easy reach of the Scottish Borders and amazing beaches and national parks of Northumberland.

What makes this property unique

Brae Cottage is perfectly located to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. There are walks and cycle trails right from your doorstop that lead you into the heart of the Northumberland National Park. The St Cuthberts way that starts at Melrose Abbey in the Scottish Borders passes through the heart of Wooler and leads to Lindasfarne priory at Holy Island. At low tide you can drive the causeway and explore the ancient history, have a coffee at the pilgrims coffee house or pick up a bottle of mead at the Lindasfarne brewery.
The Northumberland coastline is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The beaches at Bamburgh and Beadnell bay are amongst our personal favourites but there are countless beaches to choose from. Take a boat trip from Seahouses to see the puffins at the Farne Islands.Being so close to the Scottish Borders there are an abundance of Castles to visit. Alnwick Castle is famed for Harry Potter and more recently Downton Abbey. You can also take in the stunning gardens and superbly crafted treehouse. Chillingham castle is within a 5 minute drive of the property and is reputed to be the most haunted in England. At the end of a day of adventuring return home to your lovely comfortable retreat.
